While the tournament is still going on no one in Europa would be interessted in any new movies or trailers.
It wouldn't make any impact if they'd release it now.
It's like someone in the US would go out there on SuperBowl-Day and do a concert. Almost no one would be interessted in it.
But it would be great if they'd make a deal with UEFA and show the trailer officially right before the beginning of the final on sunday night. Hundreds of millions of people would see it at the same time. That would be great.

Eh? The Incredible Hulk and The Happening both made over $30 million at the international box office last weekend. There are a lot of people sick of hearing about football

Hancock may not end being being any good, but I bet it does terrific box office at least in the states.
I think the movie looks pretty good, to be honest.

Wasn't a movie in 1999 a sellout just because it had the Star Wars trailer attached to it?

From my experience of Cinema handlings, reels always come in a few days early, rarely the day before. Some big films like Harry Potter come in on different reels to stop piates gettin the whole lot, so part 1 on Monday, part 2 on Wednesday. Normally there is a staff showing for any Friday opening film on the Wednesday. Hancock is opening in America and England on the 1st, the reels will come in beofre the weekend so that the cinema can run them and check them. If Sony do keep the trail till the 30th, it will certainly leak out before.

I'm 99% certain this date is only for German fans.

True and that would be nice if it leaked, but I'm fine waiting untill the 30th because after I see it, I'll forget about it and want the next trailer.

The concept looks good, but the CGI seems (to my eyes, anyway) to be way too blatantly obvious. That's just based on seeing the previews though, so maybe the actual film will be better.Hancock may not end being being any good, but I bet it does terrific box office at least in the states.

I'm just looking forward to something -- anything -- that's better than the crap I've seen so far this summer.

Why the 28th all of a sudden? Have I missed something?
No Harkers, it's just a shot in the dark. Don't worry...

Of course it's a coincidence. I don't know where some fans out there get this deluded notion that the world stops for James Bond trailers and / or is not going to take any notice if - in the case of France - the population has apparently turned off all electrical appliances like home computers over the summer period (see an earlier post on this thread) or watching a football tournament to the very end in an enclosed capsule that does not let in any news, let alone Bond gossip or trailers.
I'm beginning to not care when or where the trailer debuts. It has NO impact on the final film and is a standard marketing tool, nothing more and nothing less. It is not the second coming (well, okay it is Daniel Craig's second coming).
Besides, about an hour after the teaser broadcasts in a few days time, there will no doubt be more deluded fans claiming "I think the film is doomed as M shouldn't be in that corridor during the night" or "I really don't think these filmmakers have a clue as Craig is clearly running too fast down that alley way...give the franchise to someone who knows how to make an action film like Micheal Bay or Brett Ratner".
McCartney, what can you tell us about the gunbarrel in the trailer?
And how did that one get out?

WHO will tomorrow's blog be about? Any suggestions, I can't think of anyone obscure enough! Goodness knows how they will keep it up until October!

This is a question for the mods:
I just want to make sure I have this right, if the trailer is posted on youtube without official consent, we cannot post it on the forums right?

Ok, time to take our minds off the trailer for a second!

It will be from a mouse that Olga Kurylenko saw during filming. He will be talking about the influence he has had on her career to date, and about the chase scene he was involved in.

It'll be a 31 minute interview with the chunk that was sliced off Daniel Craig's finger.
