Nope. It isn't happening.

New trailers that will debut with prints of Indy are Kung fu Panda, Eagle Eye, and The Curious case of Benjamin Button.

Other trailers "looking for placement" are Hamlet 2, Australia, The Spirit, Traitor, Hancock, Twilight, Hellboy 2, The Dark Knight, Get Smart and WALL-E.

So, its still a long way to July 2...

Hamlet 2???!! What the hell? Never heard of that!! :(

It's probably not what you think it is...

On behalf of all Quantum Virgins...deliver us from this temptation!

The above link points to the "Hamlet 2" trailer, so even Quantum Virgins can watch it!

Yeah. Maybe she knows when the trailer's going to be released?

What I want to know is how badly would it kill us all if we never got a trailer? Just lots of hype and interviews without a prolonged glimpse at the film. It sure would make the movie fresh! Not that I want it that way, I'm just saying...

Sigh so another week of watching the B roll imagining what they are saying man this annoying. but still some of the shots in the B-roll are amazing but since this is not in the spoilers section I won't say a word.

It wouldn't. While I would like to see the trailer whenever it is released, I'm not losing sleep over when that day will be.

The longer we wait for the trailer, the shorter the gap between the trailer and the movie. See it that way....

So is it going to be July 2nd?

But I also think that we get it this week.

Could they do the same thing as what Paramount did with the Star Trek teaser and Cloverfield. I don't think they ever came out and said "There's gonna be a Star Trek trailer with Cloverfield" it was just that a lot of people assumed thought it might be attached, and then, as we all went to see Cloverfield, there it was. Maybe Sony's gonna pull the same thing and not announce it, just have us surprised by it, then post it online a couple of days later. And for those who don't think they can do it cause Indy's a Paramount release than how do you explain that a few weeks ago we had a new trailer for The Dark Knight (a Warner Bros. release, based on a DC comic) with Iron Man (a Paramount release, based on a comic by DC rival Marvel). Plus, didn't the CR teaser come with some select prints of M:I:III (which is Paramount).

It was common knowledge that a Star Trek teaser would be attached to Cloverfield. Cloverfield was a high-profile production, both are properties of Paramount, and they shared the same creative team in Bad Robot productions.

Just saw Indy 4 (on which my thoughts will require a separate thread entirely) and there was indeed no QoS trailer. And, if I may be so bold, the only trailer worth watching in the whole thing was for Hellboy 2.

EDIT: I have never once spelled 'separate' right in my life, and tonight was no exception.

That would be a classy, meaningful time to put it up, and I hope it is the case.

Not sure if they'd release the teaser on May 28th; wouldn't that eclipse the launch of Devil May Care, at least in the eyes of the general public?

I think that that is the only thing that might stop them, but surely it would be odd for the day to go by without anything from EON to mark the occasion.

Personally, I think the release of the book and clips from the QoS trailer would go fine together on various news reports as they report on Flemings 100th. Things like the exhibitions and the paperback of Hurricane Gold, together with the stuff on the radio (Dr No and the documentary) non of them need to get in each others way, they all just add up and contribute to the occasion.

I doubt that it would eclipse anything - the public at large wouldn't notice. If anything it would highlight the birthday and give various sites a chance to mention the book alongside the trailer.

Indeed. If we do get a teaser tomorrow, which I seriously hope we do, it will mark a new course for EON.

I doubt Eon would 'crash' someone else's party for their own ends unless they could Fleming-ize the trailer.

And why would they do that? Their film is to stand on its own two feet.

Maybe not the trailer but 20-25 seconds of the film with Fleminqueise  dialague, and 5-10 seconds action. Not a proper trailer. Just some shots.

I'd say that's even more unlikely, personally. It'd be the trailer or nothing at all, in my estimation.

I'm guessing it'll be with the Adam Sandler movie because I definitely think that will get more of an audience than HANCOCK.

They do occasionally attach these trailers to garbage films. I remember seeing the Casino Royale trailer when I went to see Poseidon

..also Poseidon was the choice because we missed everything else.

My friend saw The Dark Knight trailer when she went to see The Eye :(

Doesn't look like it. I guess the last possible trailer appearance between now and July 2 is Sony's You don't mess with the Zohan on June 6.

I'd rather wait until July so that I can see it in the theater... I'm never gonna pay to see an Adam Sandler movie.

I don't think that EON is going to release any kind of a trailer for Quantum of Solace tomorrow. As someone else said in this thread, it would overshadow the release of Devil May Care, which was written for the sole purpose of celebrating Fleming's 100th birthday.

Posted Image
If Quantum of Solace was a true adaptation of a Fleming novel (which there's been very few in the series anyway), then it might be a different story, but as it's an original story with a Fleming title tacked onto it, then I'd just say to let Devil May Care and Sebastian Faulks have the day to themselves, as a lot of work went into the novel and it wouldn't be right to upstage Faulks and the publishers of the novel.
