Doesn't float my boat. Sounds too pop/Top 40 to me. Not really Bondish at all - the guitar approaches, but it's a bit rough.

Nothing wrong with a Top 40 Bond song.

It would be ironic if this song charted in a way no movie Bond song has done in a long, long time.

I wonder if they'll do a little tinker before it's released. Ditch the book samples, please, and why not add in a few strings- didn't hurt YKMN.

Horrible 80's rock pap, just like Casino Royale theme. Does anyone have any class and style. Truly terrible.

The book samples tarnish the song. I didn't see the need for them in any of the songs.

After two listens, it doesn't sound very memorable. Maybe I'll have a different take after I read the book.

Okay, being 47 does not help when it comes to this song.

First, Devil May Care is set in the late 1960s so why do we have a heavy metal rock song that does not go with the times?

Second, the song is more in line with Madonna's Die Another Day than with the likes of Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice, and On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

I don't know who the judges were in this contest but they don't know Bond themes. They only know songs they can relate to and can be marketed with a generation that grew up in the 90s. :)

I dread the future of song writing. :(

Dire, just dire. I guess that "Ooh! Ooh! Can you feel it?" disco thing from FOR YOUR EYES ONLY and "Dirty Love" now have some stiff competition for the title of Worst Bond Song of All Time.

BTW, I love "You Know My Name" and Madonna's "Die Another Day", indeed I consider them among the best Bond tracks ever, so it's not as though I'm too old and blinkered to open my mind to the sounds of today's yoof, or that I demand that Bond songs can't be edgy, experimental, genre-defying and whatnot. However, screaming guitars and vocals alone do not another Cornell-type Bond song make.

This is really unbelievably bad. Like a poor man's Texas mixed with the worst aspects of '80s hair metal.

Might I suggest the following as the DEVIL MAY CARE theme song? Heck, it's certainly more Bondian.

Hey guys,
Here's my attempt if anyone's still interested. I tried to go for a classic John Barry-esque sound, alas it wasnt meant to be, but I'm still proud of it.

Tommy C:

Nice song, but IMO, way too mellow. I kept waiting for the chorus to explode and it didn't--just the same mellow pace. When listening, the singer's voice and the melodic score actually reminded me more of "Twin Peaks" than Bond. One man's opinion. Still, you made it to the top 5--congrats.
