Ha! I was just about to post pretty much the same thing. I just listened to it again because I wanted to. Now that is a good sign.

Sal's is my pick of the five after listening to them all. None of them really blew me out of the water though.

Yikes. These make me want to return to the days of Madonna and her Sigmund Freud line.

SAL is ok... but it sounds better fit for the 80's (Pat Benatar is right). I vote for RTY, if only because it could fit into the era the book is set in the best.

SAL got my vote, best of the rather lack-luster bunch.

SAL? Really? Eh...didn't really tickle my fancy.

However, I liked both Robert Ellison and Hughie Brennan's songs, although Hughie's is bordering more on pastiche for my liking.

Sal's theme is the best out the songs that are provided. I'm not totally sure of the male voice reciting Bond quotes though. I hope it wins still.

Sal's song, although quite well done, is a bit too hard for me and it doesn't seem as if it matches with the setting of the Devil May Care novel. Robert Ellison's theme got my vote. It's snappy and catchy and quite smooth, I think. I enjoyed listening to all of the songs.

Exactly the reason I voted for Ellison's as well, MGO. Remember, this is supposed to be a 1960's Bond; as such, Ellison's contribution sounds the most 60's-ish with its almost bossa nova style. I think the strongest, catchiest song may be SAL's--but it's definitely too contemporary and hard-edged for the setting of this book.

I agree. Of the five choices I think it's more suited to the times the book is likely to be set in.

Agreed. SAL got my vote as well, but I'm not a fan of any of the songs.

I voted for Robert Ellison. I'd scrap all the dialog but I like the voice of the singer and the off-beat rhythm. Also, if the story is supposed to take place in the late 60s/early 70s, it seems more appropriate style-wise.

My vote was for Robert Ellison, as I thought the song more suited the period of the story, however SAL's song is great and very catchy.

It's a shame that I can't listen to the other four songs again
