Across the Atlantic here, it's Roy-ale, the 'a' phoneme like 'cat'. Is it different over in the UK/France?

Not sure... a lot of people pronounce it as Royale, with some sort of french sounding thing at the end. I was under the impression that the correct pronounciation would be Royal as in 'the royal household', without the emphasis on the le at the end.

As I understand it, it comes from Royale Les Eaux, France, which would make it Royale, as 0012 says, rather than Royal as in family.

Does he mention 008?. Carol says Craig slipped this out on 'News 24'.

He did, indeed, say 008. I have to say, that wasn't a slip so much as it was Daniel Craig being his usual cheeky self! That's hardly a slip of the tongue one would make when refering to the 007 Stage. Either he's just told us something or he's messing with us. We'll just have to wait and see...

Thanks for that. :P Was wondering if Carol was having me over. :D

Learn something every day. So what is the title then? If we don't like POAL.

It damn well better not be "Property of a Lady". Can you even imagine the trailer guy saying that? It makes it sound like Bond is pussy-whipped, which he ought never be (and I'll stop watching if he ever is).

He didn't say much. Just that some "spectacular" sets are being built on the OO7 Stage.

Oooo...that's enough for me. :D

Hmmm, I wonder when he says 'Spectcular Sets' he means really OTT or just visually stunning.

Forgive me if anyone has brought this up yet, but do all of the posters here understand the implication of the title, its latent sexual overtones? I mean, if that were to be amped up in the marketing, it might make the title palatable.

Besides, to agree with a fellow CBNer, I'd take second-rate Fleming over anything. It IS a Fleming title, after all.

I mean, they could call it something inspired and breathtaking, like "Avatar" or "Beyond the Ice." :-)

Possibly. Craig mentioned it, unless he's trying to add even more speculation for us fanwanks. :P

'Property of a Lady' could have the same sexual undertones as 'Pussy Galor' and 'Octopussy'. :D

'Beyond the Ice' could be ice in a drink.

We can always speculate more behind these titles. :D

That's what I always thougth, before someone convinced me otherwise... will now rightly convert back to the proper way of uttering the holy words.

TPOAL is a fantastic title. Actually means something, unlike: DAD, TWINE, TND...

There is word - misheard word, mind - that BOND 22 is to be called "008".

Just throwing some persian cats into the pigeons there...

Hmmmm yeah why not just start a new convention: name each Bond flick after the year they were released. B22 = Bond 2008

Like I said earlier, I think "The Property of a Lady" is a good title. I know there are a lot of people who don't, but imagine if From Russia With Love never happened and then today EON tried to make a Bond movie with that title! "No, it's too wimpy!" "No! It's too... that title just sucks!" I think like FRWL, TPOAL has a ring to it, and it makes sense given the whole Bond/Vesper relationship from Casino Royale.

But who knows, they may end up calling "Die The Day After Tomorrow" or something equally generic.

True - and I can see I'm shooting myself in the foot here... but anyway...I think the motto was horribly misused in the title.
