The last member of the original triumvirate has passed.
The one and only Miss Moneypenny.
Very sad news and the end of an era.

And I had forgotten that Maxwell had grown up in Canada (she had enlisted as a soldier in the Canadian army)- thankfully no trace of an accent in the films!

Now that is what they call acting.
Sadly, we will probably experience other older Bond alumni passing on in the near future since many are retired and having health issues.
If you are like me, it's the one part of life I hate facing, the death of a person who has made such an impact on your life.
RIP Lois.

I always used the line "flattery will get you nowhere, but don't stop trying!" to great success.
May she find a place as a Great Angel in Heaven.

Many will always remember Lois Maxwell as Miss Moneypenny, but to say that would be a understatement. I had the pleasure of Lois Maxwell's company when I portrayed James Bond and Lois was a talented actress. Lois occupied only a minute or so in each James Bond movie, but It's not easy to play such a part and be credible for one film, let alone a whole series. Lois proved to have many talents and have a unrequited passion burning inside, which made her invaluable. Such characters are rare today and Lois is worthy of our respect and remembrance.

I must admit that I was shocked by the news, and the realisation that she was already 80; it seems only yesterday that I was looking forward to seeing her flirt with James Bond in each new movie. I suddenly feel very old.
I would like to thank Lois Maxwell for all the pleasure she has given me over the years. Her legacy is 14 appearances as Moneypenny over 23 years. That's not a bad legacy to leave - and it's one that will be enjoyed for as long as people continue to wacth James Bond movies. R.I.P Lois.
