Here's an article that puts the kibosh on the rumor that Craig is there for filming. He's just watching (apparently).

http://www.accesshol...ws/ah6503.shtml

Still, it's pretty cool that he went there just for filming. I don't recall any of the other Bond actors being this vested into scenes that they're not in.

A tad off topic, but the Brunette is Craig's wife correct?

His girlfriend, yeah

Satsuki Mitchell (if anyone is interested in such details!)

Craig's hair looks a little longer than in CR. That's a good thing. Wish he would get it back to the look he had when he was introduced as the new Bond at the press conference.

I rewatched some of the press conference on the CASINO ROYALE DVD earlier today and I just felt that haircut didn't suit him. It was a bit too foppish for his tough Bond character. I'm happy with the CASINO ROYALE haircut.

I can see you Mr White

Well that looks like 007, not Daniel Craig. Maybe it's a long distance shot.

Ok, now that Bourne has come out and I've seen it I'm now officially mental for Bond 22! Bring it on! :cooltongue:

I swear I got a Connery vibe when I first saw this pic. This shot reminds me of how Bond looked in Thunderball.

DC in a TB remake! No, I dare not hope. bond 22 is enough.

Actually it reminds me most of Moore in The Man With the Golden Gun when Bond aims the trigger-less rifle at Lazar.

Amazing shots. If anyone has not yet realised, Craig IS 007, through and through.

The horse race will be perfect for a Bond movie. I like the sound of "betting and knocking opponents off horses".

Good ammount of energy with the crowd and the race. Great backdrop for his Aston antics and chase. I would recommend that the cheering, etc remain and the soundtrack back off there.

I love this too. It feels like a travelogue moment ah la OHMSS's bull fighting scenes. And it's an event I'm not familiar with so that's a bonus. I can't wait. :cooltongue:

I don't get this, you all talk about his hair, and no one realise that Craig is SHOOTING Bond 22 ! The Super 8 camera might be some extra footage they could use to great effect for that scene. Where's the director ? There's only Craig.

There are some videos on youtube where we can have a look at the race itself. Great stuff. Quite harsh.

And look at that crowd...

Cool shots.

Lovely Italian location-specific sequence.

Bond 22 seems to have a very Euro-centric flavour, if it shoots in Austria and Switzerland.

I'm pretty sure DC will be filming something, even just to have him in the shot (as Zencat said). Too good an opportunity to miss. Anyway exciting stuff.

Reminds me of why I like Bond. Which other popular, espionage film series would capture an event like this on film?

I strongly suspect (and, naturally, very much hope) that Craig is indeed in character as Bond. His hair looks very much done for the camera, and the style suitably Bondian - rather different from the normal crop he sports, if I'm not mistaken. What's more, he'd surely be dressed more casually if he were off duty. What he's wearing here is precisely the sort of garb you'd expect Bond to wear, and I somehow get the impression (although I freely admit that I may be quite wrong) that Craig's regular getup isn't quite as natty.

Oh I don't know- he's generally a very well-dressed guy. Fun to have him there- how hands-on of him! :cooltongue:

Everytime I look at that picture I see Craig more and more in character, TBH I wouldn't be suprised if this turned out to be a publicity still of Bond 22. I mean they may of needed a few shots of Bond on location to make it look authentic. But still, Craig kicks [censored]!

Yeah, and (hopefully) local colour scenes like this one are going to give the film a sense of spectacle that's been missing from the series for a while.

It's all looking good so far. :cooltongue:

i think now after reading everyone's comments about this that I'm probably wrong, but my first instinct was that Craig had had to film a couple of shots at the race itself, he's clean shaven for once and certainly sporting his Casino Royale haircut again.

Cool pics.

And I'm saying that Craig is dressed up like that, so a few publicity shots could be taken of him.

edit: and you know, a few local fans might have showed up, so the man needed a bondian gettup :cooltongue:
