Looks like he's got his Omega on.

This horse race looks amazing. Perfect for a Bond film!

It looks like they're shooting the new film with a Super 8 camera. Those MGM budget cuts must be starting to kick in already. :cooltongue:

Must be an invisible bracelet - all I see is tape unrolled from the handrail.
I do find it interesting that Craig was present for the shooting - although I would not put any stock to his presence having anything to do with 1st Unit footage. What is interesting is he is there and not doing junkets for The Invasion.

Do you guys think they are filming all of this now so they can digitally insert the images into the film, and shoot at an empty rtack so they can do more? i know they did something similar with some of the people seen in casino royale, think thats a possibilty?

I swear I got a Connery vibe when I first saw this pic. This shot reminds me of how Bond looked in Thunderball.

Not invisible. You can see it quite clearly in this photo beneath his watch.

Yes, there's a DV camera behind him, and it looks like there a microphone clipped under his tie. It could very well be that he came with the unit shooting the horse race just to watch -- but it might also be they are grabbing a few shots of the race with "Bond" in frame. Not scenes, just shots, which they may use or not. It's possible. In which case this IS our first look at Daniel Craig in Bond 22.

If that is indeed true, then I actually like his "new" hairstyle for thsi film, it's more grown out. Looks good :cooltongue:

Agreed. If that's not the case, I still hope he uses this hairstyle for Bond 22. His hair looks better when it's a little longer like that.

I am really intrigued by the Super 8 camera. Either Craig is a Super 8 enthusiast or it is indeed a property. No matter how small the guage, there is nothing quite as beautiful as images captured on film.

Craig's hair looks a little longer than in CR. That's a good thing. Wish he would get it back to the look he had when he was introduced as the new Bond at the press conference.

Naaah. I didn't liked that hair style. Too big for Bond. Even the Moore's hair was so big... :cooltongue:

The perfect hair for Craig's Bond is the one we saw last year, in the Casino Royale Prague Press Conference, do you remember? Great hair for the Bond of Craig.

Before I get confused, the reason Craig and Company are in Tuscany is to scout locations for BOND 22, right? Because production doesn't start until December or January.

They're just shooting some early footage of the horse race that will appear in the film. And, possibly, a few shots of Craig as Bond, as well.

from what i've gathered they are shooting footage of this event, cause it only happens in August adn they can't recreate it, so are filming all the location things that can't be faked now then shooting what can during principal photography, it'll then be edited in with the footage they are shooting at the moment.

Oh. Thanks for the explaination. I understand that this same race was featured in the 1983 miniseries, THE WINDS OF WAR. I wonder if that production did the same or re-created the race.

Actually from one of the later pictures it seems that isn't Wilson, or Giannini, sadly!

But of course, Dino! I see that now... Aah, very well, it was fun as long as it lasted :-)

I strongly suspect (and, naturally, very much hope) that Craig is indeed in character as Bond. His hair looks very much done for the camera, and the style suitably Bondian - rather different from the normal crop he sports, if I'm not mistaken. What's more, he'd surely be dressed more casually if he were off duty. What he's wearing here is precisely the sort of garb you'd expect Bond to wear, and I somehow get the impression (although I freely admit that I may be quite wrong) that Craig's regular getup isn't quite as natty.

So I reckon he's there for some shooting (although the shots, as has been pointed out, may or may not be used in the final cut), and if the film he's working on isn't BOND 22 then all I can say is that it's a bloody big coincidence.

Here's an article that puts the kibosh on the rumor that Craig is there for filming. He's just watching (apparently).
