I think this sequence could be pulled off very well. Kind of crazy and exaggerated like the free running sequence from Casino Royale.

I think that this is probably what they're going for with a sequence like this, and that's what bothers me a bit.

To me, at least, it doesn't sound like the free running sequence (which I loved, anyway). It sounds like a Hitchcockian foot chase set against a very fascinating background.

Bond chases the villain through the steep and narrow cobbled streets and then pursues him across the rooftops and through the underground medieval aqueducts, while the horses thunder round the Campo, the main square.

What about that says crazy or exaggerated?

Personally, I'd rather see a good, back-to-basics car chase.

I don't think there's any room for it, really. Bourne's done three of them, and they were all brilliant. I can't see Bond matching it, and for now, I'd just let the car chase thing settle down. I'm getting a little tired of them, actually.

Honestly, I'd like to see them take a page out of the Bourne playbook and craft a great car chase sequence that is talked about for years to come rather than a sequence that is only going to come off as a gimmick that is clearly in the film to try to top the free-running sequence.

What gimmick?

I agree I don't see what makes this OTT. Also those who said this sounds Like a Moore film sequence.

Why?

This may seem similar to Moore chasing Loque in FYEO but I'm sure the way this will be staged will make that look considerably tame.

I agree with Harmsway this does have the Hitchcokian feel to it, this is one of my hopes with Forster helming, they said they hired him for his dramatc directing.

Nothing about this sequence screams RM to me if he was chasing some guy to end up in an underground lair with hundreds of soldiers around with Bond up against impossible odds and manages to defeat everyone, save the day and get the girl then you'd get no complaint from me but this is Craig not Brosnan.

As someone has said this could be purely press guff about it being the climax. The horse element may just be the backdrop of the scene, Bonds not necessarily gonna be saddling up. The idea of increasing the tension with this added element is extremely an exciting proposition. The theory this is the PTS sounds more likely, but who Knows!

I just think this is considerably promising news whatever, once again the way I knew Craig would nail it in CR,I feel Forster is gonna take it to another level with 22.

I have only one master and it is Dr Kaufman, alas, Bond killed him. He thinks he killed me, but that wasn't Bond, that was one guy thinking he is Bond but is not anymore so it doesn't count.

Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere on this site, but [post="http://www.corriere....aig.shtml"]here[/post] is a link to an Italian news site containing a couple of photos of Daniel Craig watching the Palio in Siena yesterday.

There's not much in the article that hasn't already been reported. It states that action scenes will be filmed in a studio mock-up of parts of Siena's underground tunnel network.

[post="http://www.repubblic...orno.html"]Here[/post] is another article which doesn't contain any info on Craig's visit, but does contain a couple of more hi-res pics in the image gallery (Click on "Guarda le immagini della corsa" and go to photos 13 and 15).

Cheers.

Thanks for all those links. Particularly like Daniel looking through the camera viewfinder! Maybe he really is deciding what shots he'd like in the movie!
