Not bad, I don't really like the visual style this season seeing as it is rather bland, but there is some awesome action going on and that's all I really need from 24.

I'm liking the switch to DC & the visual style. Loved the scene in front of the Capitol reflecting pool.

Fab episode. 24's got its groove back on--just when you think they've let up on poor Henry, they sock it to him once again. TV Guide gave a Jeer to Jack's new female sidekick. But her transformation is holding my interest. And I'll be danged if I can figure out who the bloomin' mole is. Could it possibly be the obnoxious adulterous geek keep fixing our attention on? Or could it...maybe, just maybe...be Jack's new sidekick's boss?

The groove is back on. The mole is bugging me too. I want to think it is FBI analyst Hillinger but that just seems to be too obvious. On Agent Walker, I'm liking how her character has been evolving from being by the book & denying a conspiracy to now being open to it as a possibility. The scene in Vossler's house was excellent.

The best Jack quote of the episode & possibly the season so far:

"With all due respect, Madam President, ask around."

Are you talking about Sean Hillinger, the FBI agent that seems a little too interested in what his boss is up to? I don't get it, I thought Moss is his boss, not the other way around. Hillinger seems a bit too noisy for his own good, and if he acted like that in a real world job he would be put in his place pretty quick, probably with a suspension or worse.

Yes, Hillinger seems very fishy to me, but maybe a bit too obvious to be the mole.

I'll make a pick way out of left field and say it's Chloe O'Brian number two, otherwise known as Agent Janis Gold! :( She seems so clutzy to be the mole, but you just never know with 24! :)

I agree Hillinger seems a little too obvious to be the mole, although I hope it's him as I find him a very unlikeable guy. And I don't believe it's Moss either (I get the feeling that Hillinger underhandedly using Moss' authority to get his wife's plane down earlier than it was scheduled to is going to come back to bite Moss at some point so for that reason I don't think he's the mole). I think the mole is likely one of two candidates--Hillinger's blonde girlfriend or Janeane Garafalo's Janis Gold. I agree with AKristatos' opinion, so my bet would be on Janis.

Well we'll see if we're right. Even though it is a longshot, it would not shock me if it is indeed Gold.

I don't think it'll be Janice. I think it's the blonde girlfriend- using Hillinger as a cover, so to speak. I think she was also sleeping with the secret service guy with the knife Jack killed in self defense- but that's just a guess on my part.

The Taylor sub-plot is the best part of the season so far. I was very surprised when Henry got shot- and a lucky shot it was too!

THe WTF moment occured when Jack drove the wrong way down a one way street- causing kaos, then t-boning the car with the secret service agent in it- this is before he pulls him out of the car- weapon drawn. What- NOBODY noticed? Oh well, this is 24! :(

Not speaking for myself here, but perhaps a few spoiler tags are needed for those who aren't following the season at US broadcast pace. The UK is a week behind. :(

I just finished watching the lastest episode, quite suspenseful. Unfortunately I haven't seen Redemption yet. Is it worth watching?

REDEMPTION explains the background, including the characters of Dubaku, Juma and Roger Taylor (the deceased First Son), in more detail.

For the mole spotters amongst you, in his spoiler column, Michael Ausiello has posted the following:
I thought I had the whole FBI mole situation figured out. I thought wrong.

I would say it is worth watching. As Vauxhall points out, it fills in a lot of the background on the characters especially the First Son. The DVD has an extended director's version of the episode so you will get a little more than the TV version.

What are the new scenes in the extended version?

The thing about watching Redemption now is that it kind of pre-spoils who and what the main villains are, this season :

What are the new scenes in the extended version?

The extended version is about 15 minutes longer. I don't recall any new scenes but it has extended versions of existing scenes. The one that comes to mind is with the First Son & his girlfriend getting ready to go to the inaguration. No real plot revelations but more story. If you haven't seen Redemption, this would be the version to watch. If you have seen it, watching it again would depend on how much you liked it the first time around.

Well if it wasn't Gold, she certainly inadvertently contributed to the real mole by pulling the stunt she did. She was a little too noisy for her own good.

Anyway, good to see a couple of old favorites back this week. Time will tell if they will contribute a lot, or if they were just brought back temporarily.

Excellent episode. Good handling of the mole, plus I'm pleased they didn't go overboard with the return of Aaron Pierce or Morris O'Brian. I don't fancy the chances of Bill's survival this season though...

Last night rocked. Can't wait to see Chloe square off against Janis (which several critics promised would transpire last night). Next week's episode, according to the same critics, will feature Jack the Torturer, who's been away too long. This may well turn out to be one of the top three seasons. And I'm lovin' the new Washington setting as well.

Well, so much for me previously thinking that the mole wasn't Hillinger because it was too obvious. :( I thought Aaron Pierce's return was handled perfectly - not over the top, just well played. Chloe definitely needs to knock Janis down a few notches. I look forward to that confrontation :)

I believe we will also be seeing Jon Voight within the next two weeks.

If the first part of this is right, it has the potential to be an excellent action scene.

I don't think we have much background on this guy yet. He is in the government & involved in the conspiracy at what looks to be a high level.

Nice article in USA Today re 24's return to greatness by getting back to the basics. I'm still not convinced that Sean--at least Sean alone--is the mole. What a gas it would be if Janis has her own, equally dark, agenda. We'll see.

My sentiments exactly. Just when I started patting myself on the back, 24 jerked the rug out from under me. :) ;) I have to give the writers credit though, they faked most everyone out by making the all too obvious suspect the mole. I have to admit I like the "twist".
