It obliterates an excellent scene because spilling his drink is not something Bond would do. This is not so much criticism of Brosnan as it is more of Apted, he let the mistake get through and its just plain sloppy. In fact its embarrassing.

Ahem, to 'perv on the ladies' is never, ever cool. But you're right, he does do that, which contributes a point to this thread: Oi! Brozza! Don't perv on the ladies! In The World Is Not Enough when Bond enters the casino, he pervs on the ladies, provokes Zukovsky's bodyguard, does the thing with the ice-pick and the tie then drinks his martini. Cool in conception, and up until the final moments cool in celluloid as well.

Santa Says:
I'm afraid this is probably where my largest problem with Pierce lies. My disdain for Pierce the man colours my feelings for Pierce the Bond. In all honesty, I'm sure he's a very nice man, but he's one of those who, if were to have met him at school or work or anywhere in real life, I would have taken an instant and unjustifiable dislike to. He reminds me the kid at school who got a new pair of Nikes and decided that made him cool so he kept trying to hang out with us even though we kept swatting him away like a fly. It seems to me that Pierce works quite hard to maintain his smooth, suave, sophisticated image, and trying too hard is never cool. It reminds me of my father and his brother, deperately trying to hang on to their youth, tucking their shirts too tightly into their too tight jeans and breathing in, as they say 'Hi' in an ultra sad pseudo-American British accent, as they wear their white socks on display. As a result, to me he comes across as smarmy, falsely self-deprecating, and well annoying. Sinking to sewer-like levels of bitchiness here, his smile is irritating, his voice is irritating, his walk is irritating. He's just one of those I cannot warm to, and I find it impossible to isolate this from his Bond. Indeed I think he purposely 'Bondifies' himself in real life so that's not entirely unreasonable.
As I have now quite comprehensively revealed myself to be an absolute cow, I will leave this thread before someone tries to milk me...
Wow. Well santa, looking at your post on this topic 1997-2002 must've been a real bitch for you huh?

People bashed Laz and Rog for years, now Brozza has to take his fair share.
Right Right Right. And in 7 or years we'll put Craig into the mix too. Maybe even sooner.

My goodness you people are Crazy

It's the kickback. It stings the palms somethin' terrible.Just remembered that I didn't care for the way Broz occasionally flung his arms open wide after shooting someone. Like when he shoots Kaufman in TND, we hear the shot, and he throws his arms open and lets the gun drop. Don't know why, but it just kind of bugs me...as if Bond is so averse to killing someone close up that he can't hang onto the gun for two seconds after doing the dirty work.

He became eligible on 17 November, 1995.Jeez! When did Brosnan suddenly become the whipping boy of the Bond franchise?
And you're in the wrong thread.

Pierce Brosnan was the first Bond of the Internet age. You can bet that if the Internet had really been around in 1994, there would have been a brosnanisnotbond.com.
I rather doubt it. I can recall him being a popular choice for Bond since 1986.

Exactamundo. None of us go to the pro-Brozza threads to launch or little anti's. The title of this thread makes clear what can be expected. Cheers.
