I know for a fact Dalton is in the LTK (that title sequence is a favorite of mine). But for the life of me I can't remember TLD.

I don't think Dalton shows up in THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS.

The closest thing we can see during TLD titles is Bond's silhouette with a woman while both of them shoot a gun (well, I think she holds one, but she doesn't shot it). We also see Bond firing his Walther PPK against water.

Meanwhile, in LtK titles we see Timothy Dalton on the '007' that is shown in the camera and then we can clearly see him firing his PPK (even his face) above the "LICENCE TO KILL" titles, which I think it's just an awesome moment. There are some little references to '007' with Casino pieces (chips?).

Check youtube for more information. I would have posted links, but I don't really know if its legal.

Anyone remember Superman Returns? When it was going to be released, a lot of positive reviews and people thought that this was going to be the best Superhero movie ever. Atleast that is what most of the reviews were pointing to. Then the movie came out and still people prefer the Donner versions.

Superman Returns was prejudged before it even began shooting. Hardocre Donner/Reeve fans had already made up their minds that they weren't going to like it, Lois & Clark fans were upset that it wasn't picking up where the series left off, comic book fansd were nagry because it wasn't going to adapt THEIR pet story arcs, and Smallville fans were organizing boycotts over its casting. The movie still got good reviews, but the fandom had already judged the film and that was that. The movie never got a fair appraisal, and was actually crucified for using story ideas and design concepts from all over Superman's history. That film was slated from day one, and fans were actually rallying behind PotC II in order to see the film fail. It was doomed no matter what its quality was.

Casino Royale could easily meet the same fate. The backlash against it certainly is on par with what happened to Superman. The only thing Casino Royale has to its advantage is its lack of competition; its haters don't have a movie to rally behind. There isn't another blockbuster that can be used against it like there was with Superman. But if the fan venom is strong enough, it could still sink the movie. Its success is not guaranteed.

Slight exaggeration, considering Superman made $200 million in the US, another $190 million in the rest of the world. I also know a lot of people that thoroughly enjoyed the film, as I did.

Almost 400 million globally? I'd happily see Casino Royale meet the same "fate".
