I'm definitely looking for you, and probably lose the thread of the plot in doing so. Oh well--it's worth it.

Congrats once again not only for getting this job, but also for being such a fantastic storyteller. One of the best stories I've ever read on this site (and I've been around for quite some time). It has been said before: Eon should kick out that Yawnborough fellow and hire you instead for doing the CR blog.
I'll be among the ones who'll cheer for you at the Premiere.
And, on a side note: Yes, the team is working on a truly 'Royale' treatment for this story. Patience, folks.

I really enjoyed reading your saga. Do you plan to look for more "extra" work (that sounds redundant) or see what fate brings? Regardless of what you choose, you should definitely do more writing!

Glad to hear it.
Great storytelling, ernie. It has been a pleasure to read your narrative and I look forward to look for you in November.

I wonder if we could open up a Q & A about your experience? (If anyone has any questions that is - maybe not since you gave so much detail - and well worth it I might add).

The title of your thread should be changed to "I AM an extra in CR" for it seems your face and name are now permanently emblazoned in the annals of Bond history.
Again, I'm nauseous with jealosy, but also tickled with excitement to see you in action come November. Can I at least say that I know somebody in a James Bond film now?

I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have, although I may fail you in that regard: As I said, I saw only a very few things that would constitute "spoilers," and I'm not comfortable relating them...for a couple of reasons.
First, I prefer to be surprised when the film comes out. Additionally, we signed a non-disclosure agreement when we were hired as extras, and although I can't imagine anyone involved with the production would have a problem with my story, I want to err on the side of caution. As I said, everyone on the production from Martin Campbell to the "assistant to the assistant's assistant" went out of his (or her)way to treat me with respect, and I'd like to return the favor.
Another thing--I'm not a "pollyanna" when it comes to the Bond phenomenon. I have my favorites and my disappointments as does everyone else. But I want to say again, my experience as an extra was uniformly wonderful. Had it been otherwise, I would have said so. The fact that I have nothing negative to say should not be seen as selective memory, or censortship--there was just nothing to report! And when you think about it, that's pretty incredible.
So, feel free to ask any questions you may have, and if I can, I'll answer them (under the constraints mentioned above).
One final thing: I've said before that I'm embarking on a writing career. Your praise has energized and encouraged me immensely. My friends and family have always urged me to write and have been very complimentary, but it's different when dozens of people you don't know are so unstinitng with their praise.
So, I'm going to shop this story (or a truncated version) to Sony, or to some film magazines. I'm also sending some out some freelance travel and humor pieces. Finally, I'm halfway finished with a novel (a thriller, but not Bond related--Fleming will never be topped, so why try to re-paint the Mona Lisa?), and a couple of screenplays.
I know the odds are long, but should anything develop, you should know that you will have been a big part of any future success I might be lucky enough to enjoy. Give yourselves a pat on the back, and if you're ever in Phoenix, PM me (it'll show up in my email), and I'll buy the first round.
Gratefully,
Grant
P.S. Anybody have the contact info for the people at Sony/Eon?

You're an amazing writer and your fantastic installments have had me hooked - I've lost many an hour of sleep for them but its been worth every word.
I wish you all the luck in the world regarding your writing career and hope that I can see something of yours published in the near future.
Thanks again Ernie and I hope that you're posts become a regular feature on the forums. Maybe one of the Mods can give you a regular spot writing for the site?!
Will be looking out for you, hope to talk more in the future,
George
