You all continue to make my day. I'm very glad you enjoyed the story, and I've thoroughly enjoyed your praise. All of your comments have warmed my heart--and each and every one is appreciated.
I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have, although I may fail you in that regard: As I said, I saw only a very few things that would constitute "spoilers," and I'm not comfortable relating them...for a couple of reasons.
First, I prefer to be surprised when the film comes out. Additionally, we signed a non-disclosure agreement when we were hired as extras, and although I can't imagine anyone involved with the production would have a problem with my story, I want to err on the side of caution. As I said, everyone on the production from Martin Campbell to the "assistant to the assistant's assistant" went out of his (or her)way to treat me with respect, and I'd like to return the favor.
Another thing--I'm not a "pollyanna" when it comes to the Bond phenomenon. I have my favorites and my disappointments as does everyone else. But I want to say again, my experience as an extra was uniformly wonderful. Had it been otherwise, I would have said so. The fact that I have nothing negative to say should not be seen as selective memory, or censortship--there was just nothing to report! And when you think about it, that's pretty incredible.
So, feel free to ask any questions you may have, and if I can, I'll answer them (under the constraints mentioned above).
One final thing: I've said before that I'm embarking on a writing career. Your praise has energized and encouraged me immensely. My friends and family have always urged me to write and have been very complimentary, but it's different when dozens of people you don't know are so unstinitng with their praise.
So, I'm going to shop this story (or a truncated version) to Sony, or to some film magazines. I'm also sending some out some freelance travel and humor pieces. Finally, I'm halfway finished with a novel (a thriller, but not Bond related--Fleming will never be topped, so why try to re-paint the Mona Lisa?), and a couple of screenplays.
I know the odds are long, but should anything develop, you should know that you will have been a big part of any future success I might be lucky enough to enjoy. Give yourselves a pat on the back, and if you're ever in Phoenix, PM me (it'll show up in my email), and I'll buy the first round.
Gratefully,
Grant
P.S. Anybody have the contact info for the people at Sony/Eon?
