A classic read.

Cheers fella.

The only extra work I have ever done is on a UK TV series called Soldier Soldier when I was in Hong Kong. I too was a recurring member of the main platoon where we were taken all over HK to various locations. But this beats it hands down.

This does sound very film noirish - Eva's costume, gangsters and their girls...

A couple of quick notes:

First, thank you all for your kind comments. They're appreciated more than you know.

Second, I'll be posting more photos soon. I didn't take all that many when I was on set--picture taking was discouraged, because the CR folks want to control publicity--something I understand, frankly.

Third, I have a Czech friend sending me his photos, of which he has a couple of dozen. When he does, I'll intersperse them more liberally.

Fourth, I apologize for being a bit wordy at times...but I find that if I don't write it ALL down, I forget the little bits later. Think of this as stream of consciousness...

Fifth, did I mention I appreciate your kind words? Too often (I'm guilty of this as well), we respond to something only in the negative--we don't send attabvoys as often as we should. You folks, however, have made my day (and sent my ego to dangerous heights)! Thanks again.

Sixth, a side note to Athena007 and Dunph--check your PMs and/or email...

Seventh, here's a photo I found from a trip to Karlovy Vary I took in February. When I took it.I had no idea the building would turn out to be the Casino in the film. You can contrast it with the photos elsewhere on this site of the fully "dressed" casino.

Attached File  Casino_Before__web.jpg   314.78KB   452 downloads

Eighth, to answer some of the questions/comments you've posed:

No, I don't have a photo of DC and I together. I know, I'm an idiot. It just never seemed like the time, and the last day, when I planned to do it, we wrapped so quickly I didn't have a chance. Aaargh! I did get a shot of me with the car, though!

Yes, I will post a photo of myself (or two). I'll do it in the next couple of installments, when we move shooting into the casino.

Regarding Jeffrey Wright, I did not see any of his scenes. I spent about 5 mins. talking to him though, and he seemed very personable and friendly.

Finally, yes, I know how "jealous" some of you are. :-) But whenever I hear about someone having a tremendous stroke of luck, I am comforted if I know they appreciate their good fortune. And believe me, I KNOW HOW LUCKY I AM. So rest assured, I enjoyed every second of the experience, and I won't forget it. I'm happy to be sharing it with you--not the least because you seem interested, and are so kind in your comments. Thanks again.

Writing as fast as I can,
Grant (erniecureo)

Key word--"Extra."

We're just set dressing for the casino. You know, the only ones with money in Montenegro right now are hoods...:-)

You are a great story teller. Please take your time with this, I don't care if there are 30 parts! Your atttention to the smallest details makes the story that much better.
I actually enjoy the spaces between your posts, it makes me look forward to your next one even more.
We are all living through you every time we read your posts, so don't skimp! Drag it out, as this tale will never grow old. Thank you for writing it.
I love this website for all the Bond info, but I get so tired of the anti-Craig, anti-PB rants in most of the posts. I love all the different Bonds in different ways. Heck, when I read the novels, it's not even one of the movie actors I picture.
Your post has been a sheer joy, with no negativity in it. I think my mouth hurts from smiling so much when I read your stories. Thanks again!

I appreciate all of the detail your including, it's as close as I'm ever likely to be to the production of a Bond film. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us!

Too much detail??!!

Not a chance. Detail away as much as you feel necessary. For me, it's all in the detail.

Splendid stuff.

Ernie, just glancing at this I can see it's got some wonderful writing and experiences in it...and I'm gonna have to wait till I see CR to come back and read it! Blast! Just doing my darndest to stay spoiler-free. Agree with Simon though, it's the details that make the retelling of such an adventure so fun to read. It's bookmarked for later perusal. :)

I know, I know...but reading this in November, that I can do. Kudos to Ernie now for taking the time to write his installments, though. Even through slightly-splayed fingers, they do look great!
