I like it! If this is true then I can see how QOS fits in with Bond story arch. After losing Vesper in Casino Royale he is now retreating further into himself, closing himself off to the outside world - finding his own Quantum of Solace.

Anyway, it doesn't include any of the dreaded words (Gold, Die, Yesterday, Kill, Tomorrow or whatever) and actually means something, in a Bond movie sounding kind of way.

Breaking news, Bond 22 will actually have TWO titles :

One is "Quantum of Solace", to be used in all non-USA countries.

The title for the USA will be "Da noo James Bond moofie wid dat Craig Daniels dood in it, yo"

I hope they do give us the title tommorow, I'm getting sick of calling it Bond 22.

Interestingly enough, http://www.quantumofsolace.com redirects to the Sony Pictures website. None of the other Fleming titles do this, http://www.thepropertyofalady.com takes you to a jewellry website, http://www.risico.comjust brings up search results for insurance websites and http://www.thehildebrandrarity.com just brings up a "404 - Page Not Found".

Excellent Work! (Q in Everything Or Nothing).
Great find.

The possibility that we get a title today seems more likely now.

I can live with QOS if it actually turns out to be the title.

But it is strange that they created this domain sep-07, and Craig said in Jan-08 that the film had no title (not even behind-the-scenes). And then we have the 007-rumour...

Hm...is it a stretch to say that 'quantum' sort of fits in with Craig's cryptic comment that the title was something to do with a number?

Has anyone discovered, then, if we get Philip Masters, the Harvey-Millers and the Governor (he's a confirmed batchelor, you know, Raymond)?

And if so, who might be playing them?

Not strange at all. They may have decided ages ago, at least tentatively. And Craig may sometimes just have to lie in order to avoid hinting.

I think it does fit with that - not too much of a stretch at all.

I think you're all getting a bit carried away... I'm going to stick to my guns and say it won't be the title, simply because it it so unsexy and pretentious sounding. A Quantum of Solace??! It sounds like a eastern european art film.

No way this is the title.

I will certainly be happy with QUANTUM OF SOLACE as it is among the last of the potential Fleming titles. My favourite title was always THE PROPERTY OF A LADY, but at least we haven't ended up with a cliched and meaningless title.

If it's QoS I'll be very pleased. I don't think the meaning of it will be lost on too many; besides, I can see some brief, spoken explaination popping up in the trailer, so most will have an understanding of it before going into the movie. I guess this means TPOAL will pop up again for Bond 23.

The domain registration is very interesting.

I checked propertyofaladymovie.com and it was registered today (24-Jan) by a dutch design agency, rem-art.nl

I won't be surprised if it's QUANTUM OF SOLACE, since I was told several months ago (even before Forster signed on to direct) by someone who knows people very close to the BOND 22 production that it was under serious consideration as the title. This person also gave me an interesting reason why it was being considered (which I'm not at liberty to disclose but if it is indeed the BOND 22 title it'll surely come out very soon), so I've long thought of QUANTUM OF SOLACE as a very possible title. Still, who knows? Is anything official yet?

Someone aiming to make a bit of cash if that title is ever used I think! They may have missed a trick though as that domain would surely be www.thepropertyofaladymovie.com!

That's very interesting Loomis. I'm intrigued! I do hope that we receive some news upon the significance of QUANTUM OF SOLACE as a potential title.

"Quantum of solace", huh? Nice title. It fits the CR sequel. I can't wait to find out whow are they going to translate that into polish :( Least to say that there is this long tradition of mistranslating movie titles in Poland (like "Dirty dancing" turned to "Wirujący seks">"Spinning sex").

Anyway, in almost every Bond movie the story had at least some connection to the novel. What could it be this time? Vesper and the Algerian as Rhoda Llewellyn and Philip Masters? Bond as the lover?

At least there should be this officials' party going on in the movie

The Fleming purist in me will be ecstatic if the actually use QoS as the title. Not convinced that it will be a popular choice, but at least us Fleming geeks would be happy...

I agree, I think thepropertyofaladymovie.com has already gone (probably to another speculator)!

Personally would have preferred Property of a Lady for Bond 22 and Quantum of Solace for 23, but there you go.

I'm cool with the title. I've been waiting for it to be used for years now. The domains though seem to be a pretty clear indication that this will be the title for Bond 22.

Damn it, you've blown the press conference's surprise! lol

A very smart desicion.
Why would the agency register this url?
I think that a forum member could tell us more about this....

Title revealed at Pinewood and reported on BBC News - Quantum of Solace.

Showed brief glimpses of filming including Daniel Craig leaping to a cable in an ornate, high-vaulted room and talking to a blonde girl by a computer in a high tech room backed by a circular staircase.

Wonder if the girl might be Moneypenny...
