I know that it was a dumb reason not to go see the movie. But when you're a poor college student...it pays off to wait to rent it. I didn't have much of a drive to go see it

I heard that he's a really great actor, and I hope that his portrayal of Bond will overshadow his appearance.

Plus, I have seen all of the Bond films, and I thought that Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, and even Sean Connery were all a little too old for the part. Since Casino Royale is supposed to be the start of Bond's career, I was surprised that they didn't select a younger actor for the part. Not too much younger...just young enough for that part of the plot to be believable.

On a slightly different subject, I wish that there was a store that sold "Bond Girl" clothes. I would buy them! Somebody should start that business...

I don't run into many women who like James Bond at all. My girlfriend doesn't like the movies, the characters, or anything about the series. I don't know if that's because its just unappealing to her or she finds the series to be overly sexist. It bothers me since I'm a huge fan of the series.

I am a guy, and I like some chick flicks. It depends on your definition.

I like these romantic comedies. Basically for just cuddling up on the sofa with some wine:-

The Notebook
Dirty Dancing
Four Weddings & a Funeral
Bridget Jones' Diary
Muriel's Wedding
Notting Hill
Love Actually
My Big Fat Greek Wedding

Even better would be High Heels and Low Lifes, a 2001 British-based comedy caper starring former GE Bond girl Minnie Driver. She and her girlfriend witness a bank robbery in progress and then extort the bad guys' money from them. There are many hilarious moments throughout this film, with a climactic shootout at the end of the film that is played completely for laughs. A sleeper hit in Britain that enjoyed a limited release in the USA, and most appealing for viewing with your significant other.

Don't get me started on it... *sighs* Reminds me of the reaction of half the girls in the class hating the 007 Prom Theme... Ironically enough I'm the one who started it and I'm a girl, but I guess I'm the weird one there. The senior girls pretty much think it's the "worst prom theme ever" and the few who do support it are juniors and without any coincidence my closest friends... lol.

Holy crap! I wish that our prom would have been 007 themed! That's the coolest idea I've ever heard, and it sure beats out "Don't Wanna Miss a Thing" theme. Our band did get to do a James Bond marching show, though, which was really cool. However, I think I was one of the only people that was truely excited about it. It's Bond for crying out loud!!!

I'm lucky,my wife enjoys watching the Bond films almost as much as I do! She's not quite as obsessive, but is always more than happy to watch one and sometimes suggests it. We've been watching all the films in order, one a week,as I've been getting the Ultimate Editions. She even came to the cinema to see Die Another Day and Casino Royale, both of them twice!

An ex of mine however hated them, they were sexist and misogynistic, which made her sound like Judy Dench's M in Goldeneye!

I only was once "dumped" by a girl who couldn't grasp my Bond fandom. This was after five months and she did meet me the night of my DAD party for the first time. "Meet" being a kind turn of a phrase for "spend-the-night-and-most-of-the-next-day-in-my-bed".

Go figure.

Hey darlin', did you expect anything else?

Some women appreciate it, some don't. Some are just fans of actors in the role.

Of course, here at CBn, many of the ladies do understand it and most of the ladies I know and who know and have known me, don't seem to mind the fact that I'm half rogue, half wild card. Bond is Bond.

In my case, Bryce is Bryce. Charlie is Charlie. Like it or don't, but accept it.

Shakespeare is most appropriate in this case..."Woman! Get thee to a nunnery!"

Talking about proms and parties, we had a Bond theme for our work Christmas party in 2000.

It was really cool, and I managed to squirt the nasty CEO with a water pistol, while I was dressed as Bond in a tuxedo, and he was dressed as Blofeld, with his bald head, and he had a toy white cat!!!

A great moment!

Most of the guys dressed as Bond, but we did have a Baron Samedi...!! The girls all wore sexy dresses....:cooltongue:

I have not met one person who lives in Utah who is a fan of Bond... woman or not. I feel like I'm the only one, which is completely ridiculous seeing as CR was packed nearly every night it was showing the first 2 weeks. I just have yet to find any around me. It's nice to have a site like CBn.

I know a few casual Bond fans here in Sydney, but they don't always remember the right villain, or the right Bond actor for each movie.
