Taking another look, he does look like he's "buffed- up" a bit since October. Lean, but not over done. Tough looking bastard. What Bond should be.

Absolutely, he looks a lot beefier - like he could handle himself in a fight and pull some birds on the beach.

As to the question as whether his outfit is his costume- it's worth noting that today it is -3

It's not. The man in the t-shirt is Woody Allen's and Ursula Andress' love child, conceived while making Casino Royale in 1966. Note, that this young fella has Woody's masculine figure.

haven't been on the Craig band wagon so far, but the darker hair (if it isn't just dark because of the lighting) and the bulker body are a big step in me coming around. Still looks short in the walking shorts even if those boots are loaded (lifts). But all in all may not be too bad.

Going back to the cloths and it not being very Bondian! Lets say that the internet was as big in '95 as it is now. Filming had just started on Goldeneye, and they started filming either the PTS, or the end sequence with Brosnan fighting Bean. Both scenes have Bond (especially PTS) in combat espionage type cloths and he looks battered. Would people complain that he isn't Bondian enough? His looks are exempt from this of course. Craig looks great as Bond. Some people on here complain so much it's as if we have Timo Perez as 007!

Lets remember that some of the first photo shots of Brosnan in Die Another Day featured a Bond in a tattered green t-shirt, with a beard and hair extensions.

Was that look very Bondian?

No it was not. But then again there were times where Connery's bond was in dark combat clothes. Just because he isn't in Nice clothes doesn't mean he doesn't look Bondian! I wish we would see him more often in swimming gear, or beach clothes..not sure what it was exactly, but much to the extent of the beginning of Goldfinger!

Quite; the internet may bring us many lovely things (free pronography and... um...) but sometimes it's an absolute hell, isn't it? Imagine what this would have been like if the first leaked photos of Goldfinger had shown Connery in that bathing suit or the first pictures of You Only Live Twice were of Connery's "look" in the latter stages of the film.

There'd be killings, probably.

I'm sure he won't be wearing these clothes throughout the whole film....

guys, if there is ONE thing the EON series of films has almost always gotten right.... it's the Bondian clothes..... so don't worry.

Or Connery in that ripped, dirty and blood stained t-shirt from the end of Dr No

Boy, I can't wait until he puts a cape and cowl on and prowls the ni---wait...

He's wearing a skirt! He's wearing a skirt! And now he looks like Sherlock Holmes! OHMSS is going to be a disaster...

OK, bad sort of example, maybe.

Hmmmmmmmmm..........I can't say 3 pictures mean we will have a great Bond film. :D

It's to be expected 3 pictures would generate excitment here but will that translate to the straight world? Bill Murray would get it BUT will the straights?

Holy crap, was that a Ghostbusters 2 joke?

Flash1087--good man! :D You got me--yes a Ghostbusters 2 joke. :( You don't see that every day.

It's funny how so many can get so excited over 3 blah photos. I'm not impressed.

Looking at these pics, I can't say he looks tougher than Sean. Dirtier, yes.

Also hard to say for sure if he is more muscular than Sean in DR.NO, or George in OHMSS. You'd be surprised how a tight t-shirt can fool the eye. If he were in a t-shirt that was one size larger, most here would be describing him as wiry.

Someone wake me when something worth 7 pages of posts comes up.

Have to agree. These snapshots aren't anything to get excited over. I'll wait and see as they progress along. What is it? Just Day 2 of shooting? I'm sure something a lot cooler may come along...

Yes an UNDERSTANDABLE overreaction to 3 pictures--nice to get some photos BUT i'm hardly going to exclaim Craig "King Bond" yet. :D

I think people are excited because it's the first new Bond shots that we've seen in 4 years... 4 years....

anyways, as far as him looking stronger.... did you see him in Layer Cake... he was quite 'chiseled' there..... no reason to excpect any less.... I never understood why people thought he looked skinny.... quite the opposite in fact...

quite a few films and I know most of the Bond films shoot the opening and ending sequences in the first few weeks of production(If possible) this is in case the lead actor is injuried and they need to shoot around him and for trailer footage. Roger Moore use to joke that they did that in case he got killed doing the stunts , they could still finish the film. So they may be shooting the opening or closing sequences or both in the next few weeks.

Beast, aren't you jumping to conclusions rather quickly?? These aren't even true photos from the film and yet you base your opinons on them.. Remember, you can't judge a book by it's cover, and these photos aren't even the cover!!

I don't understand one thing, why some fans have to bash one actor for being cast as James Bond, even without see his portrayal?! :D :D
I tell you one thing, no matter which actor they would choose, I would support the actor always, because in my ingenuity, I believe the Eon people only wants the best for the franchise, not the worst. Sure, we the fans had our favourite for the role, I for one wanted Adrian Paul for it, but I didn't got it that way, and because of that I'm not sad, on the other way I'm very excited for this movie. Even if they choose Hugh Jackman, Clive Owen or any other actor I would suportive.
Why can't all of us, be sailing the same wave, and support Mr Craig, and give him a chance, hey?!

It's a great time to be a Bond fan, have you tought of that? In November James Bond will be everywhere!

Bond will be everywhere pretty soon, come to think of it. Considering the effort EON seems to have put into this, and the long break between DAD and CR, they're bound to pull out all the stops when promoting it.
