Okay....well Brosnan looked rough as a prisoner in Die Another Day, but he didn't look tough.

Fat and scrawny I was thinking, comparatively. Oh, and old.

No.8 vs. no.62 on the sexiness scale.......

I try to distance myself from my passion for it when I can.

But you honestly think Connery was in better shape in TB than Lazenby was in OHMSS?

What film or stills have you seen?

I can't recall a scene where Lazenby's physique was on display in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

The morning after the fist meeting with Tracy...Laz is fit.Craig looks like he's in SAS shape here.

Yes he does. It's been awhile since I've seen Charles' favorite 007 movie.

Craig looks great. Hopefully Casino Royale will begin where Licence To Kill ended.

I hope that it does as well. The Bond franchise has been on a long hiatus since 1989 and, if everything goes the way they're saying it will, it may return finally in 2006.

Tough mother. Grrrrritty. If this guy hits you, you st... ah well, you know the drill. He'll be convincing as a man of action. Good to see this stuff, though Craig looks a little like his Tomb Raider character with this hairstyle and attire. Fair chance that this is indeed the 'fresh out of service' Bond we will likely see in the first scenes of the movie.

I just hope that the filmmakers are not going to treat his 'becoming the 007 we all know and love' as some sort of lame transformation sequence ('Now, pay attention, 007, this is a suit, spelled S-U-I-T, and tie, spelled T-I-E.' / 'I'm not going to wear that, those are sissy clothes!' / 'Look, 007, do you want this mission or not.' / 'Well, all right then. But I won't wear my tie in a Windsor knot!' / 'Nobody said you had to.' / 'And stop watching my bum!' / 'Really, 007, we still have a lot of work to do on you...').

Probably not.

Well... with the exception of The World Is Not Enough and perhaps, if I am in a good mood, also Tomorrow Never Dies, the Brosnan era was  Neither GoldenEye nor Die Another Day work for me as a Bond movie. But that's just me :D

You're not alone in that thinking. For me, TWINE, was the only Bond film Brosnan did that I really felt stood up well with the rest of the series. Had they kept it like how it's described in the orginal script that's in a thread over in the Brosnan forum, then it could have been an elite Bond film. The rest of them, though, were bad for one reason or another.

But, to try to pull this away from Brosnan for a second, I think that Craig's Bond could very well pick up from where Dalton left off, but at the same time, bringing some of the Connery coolness and toughness as well.

Looks quite a tough customer. Also looks as though he has had his hair dyed.... with more than a few touches of grey!!!!!!!!

http://cache.gettyim...BFC9E0582B79745

Definitely darker and perhaps a bit grey.

Nice to see some pics!

I'm relieved -- he does look like Bond after all! At the press conference announcing him as the new Bond I thought he looked kind of dorky. But this guy looks like one tough Mother F*****! (It looks like he's "beefed up" a little since the press conference).

Up until now I had a hollow feeling in the pit of my stomach about CR, but with the recent news about set pieces and some scenes, this may be the best Bond film in years! At least we have hope.

Oh no....I like the Dalton movies, I rank The Living Daylights high on my ranking of the 007 movies, above some of the Moore ones.

Ah the Pierce bashing! Predictable--I disagree the Pierce era was fine and the general public buys that also or they wouldn't have supported the films and bought into him as naturally Bondian. So there all you Piercey haters. :D

Not bashing Pierce....I just didn't like his Bond movies. He should have played his Bond like he played the Russian spy in THE FOURTH PROTOCOL - cold and ruthless.

I like how Craig looks rough and tough here.

STILL I still need to see him pull off the suave and lighter parts of Bond. I don't want Bond to JUST be a Rugby player looking bloke. I knew he could be rugged--I still want to the rest of the package. I can't wait!

I liked the first two PBs and the last two sucked. So, I don't hate him but I think the era overall pretty much sucked. Not his fault.

Anyway, I'll try to embrace the new era without stepping on PB. He was a solid star for the series.

He looks better with short hair, it goes well with that whole lean and mean look. The long hair look back in October did make him look dorky. He definitely looks more built than Broz. After those civilian reports of the Parkour folks and this I am excited now.

Fair enough Dlib--just a difference of opinion since I like both the tough and light sides of Bond which I believe Pierce captured rather well.

He was suave and dashing in several parts of LAYER CAKE. And I have no trouble seeing him acting as a guy who'd have an appreciation for the finer things in life - I think he'll be that all the way.

Bravo Tarl. I think Bond is big enough to have various interpretations to work well. I thought all the Bonds ,even Lazenby, had their points. But hey I can also see not everyone liking all the Bonds. It would be dull if we all agreed--so i'll defend Piercy from time to time when needed. :D

I would be quit confident that this is the look for the fight in the embassy that has been filmed over the last few days.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. They shoot plenty of stuff out of order. It could be from any moment from the film, as far as we know.
