I am still hopeful that Rose Byrne will portray Vesper Lynd in Casino Royale. Regards no announcement, there could be many reasons for Eon's silence. It may just be the case that they have decided not to make any announcements until all the cast have been hired, rather than making a series of announcements for Lynd, Le Chiffre, etc.

The "Friday announcement" was from a tabloid, so about as reliable as rumours of Jolie, Theron, et al turning down the part, IMHO. Doesn't mean Byrne isn't cast, or at the least didn't get tested, just that the Daily Mail makes stuff up, lol. I seriously doubt the DM was able to scoop EON's casting, or even their plans for casting announcments. Even if we had gotten a Friday announcement, it only would've meant the DM is just as good as any of us at "predicting" when EON does announce the rest of the cast, ie sometime before shooting starts, lol.
They sold some papers, that's it. It's not like they're a rock-solid source or anything...

So are the Daily Mail going to print an article about the end of the world soon? How can they print stuff about Rose Byrne like that as if it is fact, when it obviously hasn't come to pass? Don't they realise they'll look completely foolish?

she looked great. i could imagine her being vesper. Hope she has the role.

Extremely pretty but more to the point extremely talented. She is quite the fine actress. I CAPTURE THE CASTLE is charming little film shot on the Isle Of Man and Rose Byrne shines exceptionally in it. Her Hollywood turns in TROY and WICKER PARK showed equal promise even if the films did not. I stand in agreeance with the other fine members of this board that believe she could quite possible turn in the ultimate Bond girl performance. She has the chops.
Here is hoping!
Now if we could only get John Barry to return with a sincere and heavy score....

As much as I prefer lesser know actors for the villains (makes them more real to me. Yeah. I know.), I've always quite fancied having Sir Tony play a Bond villain. Wouldn't attach a great probability to it though...
