[quote name='Shrublands' date='26 January 2006 - 09:13'][quote name='Skudor' date='26 January 2006 - 10:20']I never thought I'd have to make the choice between The Daily Mail and The Sun... But in this instance I'll pin my faith and hopes on the Mail.....

I do not normally go in for such polls but Rose needs your vote!

Bryne mentions not getting the part HERE (is this our first confirmation that she really was in the running?).

I love my Eva, but I still think Rose would have been excellent.

I Certainly want Rose for Bond 22! She is a brilliant actress, and extremely beautiful. :cooltongue: but i think, no one could beat Eva's portrayal as Vesper.

I would have much preferred Rose Byrne to have played Vesper, to be honest. She's got a haunted quality about her that would have worked wonderfully in Casino Royale.

I had the pleasure of meeting her briefly once and she was a charmer.

Now, I would not dare to challenge the lovely Eva's portrayal (OK, yes, watching CR alone over the last few months with the lights dimmed and the door locked, old Bryce has gotten a bit misty at the end), but it could have been very interesting to see her take with some of those scenes.

Who know's? She might end up in Bond 22. Good old Debbie McWilliams always keeps a short list of those with talent and presence.

Miss Byrne has both in my opinion.

Agreed! Rose is definately prettier, but Eva nailed her portrayal of Vesper. Rose would have done well, but I think after seeing Casino Royale, it's hard to picture someone else in the role other than Eva.

But I definately agree that there is still room for Rose in Bond 22! :cooltongue:

I would love to see her in a future Bond film. Perhaps Bond 22?

I would have rather had Rose Byrne as Vesper as well. And I'm sorry guys (and this is just an opinion) I don't think Eva Green is a very good actress. I have to skip through the train scene, coz she's really annoying (clear you throat woman)

My number one choice would have been Rachael Stirling, with Rose, a very, VERY close second

At least they didnt get the rumoured Thandie Newton for Vesper.

All through CR I would have been bulldozed by the horrid acting and directing spectacle that is John Woo's MI:2.

Well, we allow children to post on this forum, why not not people with personal opinions?
Like the rest of us, I am a mature adult, and if I choose to express an opinion on a persons acting ability I shall. If you disagree, then that is your choice. But do not try to insult my intelligence, simply because you took my opinion personally.
That is all I have to say, except that if this kind of slander continues I shall be forced to make a official complaint against you.

Signed lovingly,

NOT a Eva Green fan !

After watching CR numerous times now I find myself totally agreeing with this.
Rose Byrne would have been great choice hopefully she'll get her chance soon.

However I liked Eva, she personified my idea of Vesper from the book. But I take your point Peaceful she does sound a bit mucasthroaty on the train!!

See, that's one of the things I enjoyed about Vesper. I liked that little growl to her voice. She didn't sound like the simpering, childish Bond girls of the past, and her low voice with that occasional catch to it made her sound more like a real woman who could meet Bond on her own terms.
