The Line of Beauty
Not only was it easy to be alone in a crowd, decided James Bond, at times it was preferable. No one noticed him snatching the cat from the crowded gallery floor and releasing it to the freedom of the pavement outside. Any pussy that was forced to wear a velvet smoking jacket had problems galore and, in his opinion, needed to get out and live a little. He watched the Persian Blue slink out through the door and scamper up Cork Street. The art gallery was not Bond

So it seems to get into the heart of Dalton's Wendy I need to be quite the storyteller. Good to know. Any other ladies out there I could serenade with a story?
yes, PRESENT!
lol
Hitch thought about me too (and frankly, picturing myself in the story with the guy whose picture I posted... makes me happy for the rest of time!
Wendy's right, you're such a charmer..
Ah, the French spelling for go is really something!
I sympathise.. but I must say, I am a proud supporter of everything Boston.. So it's Tom Brady and New England patriots for me!

I think he's proven himself BETTER than the Will Smith variety. He made DW purr from almost 2000 miles away.
now.. you seriously think "when harry met sally" is not one of my favourite movies????? I know every line of it! lol
"You made a woman meow?"Is this a hot board or what?
(Bloodnok tries to roll his tongue, fails miserably, slinks away)
Definitely so. and now ROFL reading the last sentence again.. are you an expert of parentheses??? lol

There is one question I've been dying to ask you and Wendy though - do either of you like Gershwin, and if so, what's your favourite piece? I have my own response ready!!!
Do I like Gershwin?
DO I LIKE GERSHWIN???
Stupid, stupid me!
HOW could I have omitted three of the finest songs that Gershwin ever wrote? I must have been "drunk or on drugs" (MKKBB joke) when I posted that first reply!
HOW could anyone leave out Fascinatin' Rhythm, The Man I Love, and -- one of the most beautiful songs ever to emerge from the American pop canon -- Embraceable You.
Someone get the dunce cap!

I'm a scriptwriter by trade.
So, Major, darling, you are gainfully employed!
I believe we have here on this thread the bare bones of a new BOND script:
HITCH for the story, MAJOR B and I for the screenplay, WELSHCAT for the humour, and ALESSANDRA for the sports coverage!

NO, it is not done, HITCH, you talented genius!
You cannot leave DALTON'S DAZZLING LITTLE WENDY in the proverbial lurcheroo!
Enquiring minds want to know what happens next between her and the magnificent, devastatingly attractive retired Secret Agent with the authoritative manner, the rueful smile, and the cruel mouth!

Wendy, because of her ability to charm men so much they write amazing stories about her.
Hitch, because of his God given abiity to write such engaging stories.

Hitch, because of his God given abiity to write such engaging stories.
BOTH of you are impressive!!
A very warm welcome to PAM BOUVIER, the most sensitive, sensible, and nicest person on all the James Bond forums extant! (although -- she sometimes masquerades under different disguises!

HA!this is one of the things that makes my dad's blood boil with envy too! lol
because he is a very keen jazzman... but he's one of those free spirits. doesn't like piano discipline or studying (Not that I do.. at all, but I have a more classically trained piano school behind me..). so result is, I can play the Rhapsody.. and HE CANNOT! haaaa
it IS an impossible piece... boy, was it difficult to learn! I still sweat at the only thought of learning it! lol
And I thought the edited, easier version WAS the hard version!
I want to learn Concerto in F - all 3 movements!!! (well, obviously - not like I want to miss out one in between!)

While I think Nora Ephron is GREAT at what she does, I'm afraid I don't see her writing Bond. That's not a deficiency though. I've tried writing romantic comedy with limited sucess.
As for being DW's press agent: I'll do (almost) any writing job that pays.
lol
I'm sure Wendy is a very generous employer!
on Ephron: I didn't mean her doing the job alone! Her with Haggis, so we'd have a very good man's action point of view paired with the wit of Ephron dialogues.
lol really you tried writing comedy? I want to read!!!

Mills and Boon Bond? I'm curious. Is that really what women want to see (or read about)?
Like I said in an earlier post, there are those genre of novels called Silhouette Bombshell, which I'm pretty sure is published by Harlequin (who seem to have merged with Mills and Boon). They tend to be military or spy-type novels (or crime thrillers) and depict the women as tough cookies no longer dependent on men, but easily able to hold their own. Now that's fine, but some of the storylines are really utter trash. Nothing more than an excuse to get into a "romantic" scene (interpret that as usually a sex scene), with little emphasis actually on espionage. Although that's quite a broad generalisation (because admittedly, there are some of those authors who DO have a good military background and produce some solid stuff here), on the whole, they are pretty much trash.
Only a few decent stories in what is otherwise a rather plotless novel (imagine a Bond movie where his only mission is to extract information from a female spy by bedding her, and that's all the plot revolves around).

The upside of this suggestion is that the resulting movie could qualify for entry in the category "Best Picture of the Year -- Under 3 Minutes In Length."

I've done stand up and improv comedy too. My problem is I have a hard time writing things others find funny. I'll post something later- I just don't want to use up so much space off topic.

Well, if you want good script ideas, I recommend Grey's Anatomy. It's BRILLIANT! The guys who write the dialogues (No idea who they are, I never checked, I was too busy watching Patrick Dempsey!!) are geniuses!
And much of the men-girl dialogue is very much Bond-style.

It doesn't have to be trash, but a little more romance every now and again wouldn't go amiss. I loved Hitch's story. It was very good, very well written. If more were of that style, Bond would have a few more female fans. It was especially good because I could picture Tim perfectly. Hitch had me hooked and it was only a few paragraphs long.
One of my favourite Bond relationships is with Kara Milovy and I think that is becaues there is some gentle wooing and tenderness going on as opposed to wham, bam, thank you mam!!

Agree 100%, Lady Rose! I, too, was hooked from word one!
Like you, I could also picture TIMOTHY perfectly . . . which is doubtless the reason for my having gone off into spirals of ecstasy, and squeals of delight -- yes, friends: I was singing!
And I love the idea of an older, more mature Bond. I feel that he would be very attractive to the Baby Boomer generation; he would certainly be someone to whom they could relate, more so than to a Bond, whom, for the first time for many, is now younger than are they.
HITCH's idea of having a father-and-son Bond team provides something for everyone! And I further think that someone as attractive as DALTON would inevitably attract some of the younger females, as well.
