Male and female writers - well that should be a good combination for Bond. Of course, it all depends on if they are trying to push an agenda of their own - eg make Bond more subservient to the Bond "Woman" or something like that. If they are, they shouldn't be let anywhere near Bond. I don't mind franchises (such as Alias) where the woman is strong, but not so much in Bond. Especially not after all the last few Bond girls we've had.

Did you read the third paragraph of my post #340?

Or the second-last of my post #373?

Are those the words of a woman with an agenda to push?

Which is why I herewith send the following message to Eon:

DALTON'S WENDY for

1. Next Bond director;

2. Next Bond writer;

3. Next Bond chick!

Well yes really! I come from a family of devoted piano and guitar players and all of us sing!
when my brothers and I were in high school we'd spend afternoons after doing homework with me playing the piano, and them playing the guitar and all of us singing Sting and Dire Straits, and Beatles and Pink Floyd songs...
What kind of voice do I have?? err... normal?! lol. I think when I sing stuff from the 80s like the Swing out Sisters my voice pretty much resembles that of the female singer there.. although mine isn't so full of basses. :)
It's really difficult to describe a voice!
let's say that I would do my best to win James Bond over by singing "making whopee" like Michelle Pfeiffer did in "the fabulous Baker Boys"!! :)
Anyawy.. I'm sure I can handle dubbing Dalton's Wendy in case she had to sing as a Bond girl! :)
And of course I would gladly meet you Welshcat darling! :)

So, BABES!
your opinions on A)Leder as possible director of a Bond movie :) more name proposals for female directors of Bond and C) combining a man and a woman as writers of Bond and possibly involving a Haggis with Lynda Obst or Nora Ephron are still missing here!!!
*taps foot impatiently*
I want to hear your thoughts about this matter!! :) (and the men's too, of course! Welshcat and Major already expressed some of their views.. where are the other men??? :))

Y'know, now that I think of it, I really must get out of this dreadful habit of modestly underrating myself.

Actually, I can sing . . . albeit in a breathy, husky, smoky, sexy contralto.

I already have the slinky red dress -- with matching bolero jacket trimmed with dyed-to-match fox stand-up collar and cuffs.

Also slinky gowns in a veritable rainbow of shades . . .

I'd need a video with sound before I can make an informed decision...

And off topic, does Toronto still host The World's Biggest Bookstore, my favorite store in the world?

An embarrassment of riches. Alessandra (whom I have seen in the photo gallery) and Dalton's Wendy (whom I have seen in my imagination), I am probably not worthy of you. I'm more Jimmy Bond from Casino Royale and I have a great face...for radio.

Having said that, I do produce feature films and am always looking for new talent. I am currently reading a very intriguing script now that would be worthy of your, ahem, talents.

Anyway, it's what you get folks when making Bondee!

Ah Ace, never underestimate yourself! Been working in radio a long time ago myself.... and radio types are very intriguing! :) :)
Now... a script?? THAT is very interesting.. do you think I could play the girl who passes by in the street? (so that we're sure I don't make the leading man immediately fall head over heels for me? LOL :))
and to go on....

Yes, he's very cute. There's something of an air of young DALTON about him.

Hey, Ale, I've got a great idea! He could be "BABY" Bond, and Timothy could be "DADDY" Bond, in this new story which HITCH is writing! Then you can take "BABY", and I'll take "DADDY"! How does that sound to you, cara?

Must make a note to pm HITCH instantly . . .

Must also make a note to stop giving EON my free ideas . . .

And hunks . . . which is what any guy who is 6'4" clearly is!

But I do beg to marginally disagree with you, Major B, my dear. (Only a certifiable loony would disagree big-time with a guy who is 6'4"! :) )

Babes . . . hunks . . . are the subject! The medium is the message!

Babes and hunks are integral parts of the wonderful world that is JAMES BOND! The fact of their prominence in the BOND movies is the very thing that has kept the series boiling on high for 43 years.

Once again, I must quote the words of Harry Saltzman. When asked, in 1964, what made Goldfinger the highest-grossing of any single film that year, Saltzman replied:

"We've gone back to the bedrock of Hollywood -- bosoms, blood, and sand!"
