Doesn't matter to me. IMO, he owns the role now, and proved it with an utterly convincing performance.daniel was okay but i still think that there have been better actors before him.

Q could have delivered the key to Bond in that DBS scene don't you think? And why put Villiers instead of MP? :/
But besides all of this, I'm very satisfied with Craig in the part. He is the man for the job, at least for now and the couple of years ahead.

It's been too long since we took the time
No-one's to blame, I know time flies so quickly
But when I see you darling
It's like we both are falling in love again
It'll be just like starting over, starting over

Doesn't look the part
50% [ 5 ]
Lacks "Bond essence"
20% [ 2 ]
Too old for rookie Bond
10% [ 1 ]
Lacks charisma
10% [ 1 ]
Too short
Did not act like James Bond and is painfully ugly.
It comes down to looks. I can't really accept someone who looks as ordinary as Craig being Bond so I struggle to get very far beyond that.
he dosn't look like Bond any more than Dolph Lundgren does.
Last time I saw a mouth like that it had a hook in it.
I would have half-enjoyed Daniel Craig in a Licience To Kill style Bond installment.
But the Bond begins and early Bond elements made it unwatchable for me.
he's uncouth.
the main reason I don't find Craig to be Bond is that he doesn't seem to be portraying the same character that I grew up watching on the screen. much less the Bond that I have been reading more recently. the lack of culture, which was not in the book Casino Royale, is one that I take issue with. Bond in that particular adventure was described as being very particular about his meals and only wanted the best he could have. the reboot of the character as seen in the film didn't jive with any Bond that I have encountered thus far.
but the looks issue is a part of that. Fleming described Bond as being unusually tall, average build, with dark hair, greyish blue eyes, and movie star good looks.

DANIEL CRAIG IS JAMES BOND
Eon & Sony officially announce the new 007
Craig turned up in a speed-boat and the actual conference will start soon.
I've had better luck with Sky News for footage and here are some pictures.

Ah What a day that was!

Anyone have the full Conference? - I would like to take a trip down memory lane

I remember the day well, I registered on here again (I originally registered in November 2002), and remember watching Sky's press confference live, through the "UK option" on the Sky News Australia channel.
What a great day it was, and it's interesting to read through the comments on here from the days leading up to the conference to the reaction in its aftermath.

He's a Liverpool fan.
Now there's something I never knew. I love the man even more now.
Edit:
Must say, a lot of these old posts are amusing. Much more so than in other ancient threads. Am deriving particular amusement from what was Judo's second day on CBn. The differences are simultaneously staggering and infinitesimal.

In the immortal words of spynovelfan:
Could he look any cooler than that second photo?
He looks like a stone-cold killer. I can't believe they've been this brave.
Pinch me, for I still can't believe it's real.

Oh, I don't know. I once took some time scrolling back through the "Anti-Craig Brigade" thread and thought it was interesting to see the thoughts, and many of the rants, expressed by some very devoted fans at the time. Then there was the great "gritty" debate, where some fans bemoaned the rumored more-realistic tone of "Casino Royale" and hoped that it would be a one-off, to be followed by a more "fun" Bond movie. This was followed by the box office examinations, with one of our members conjuring up an imaginary scene of the Broccolis being summoned to Sony's corporate offices after the premiere weekend and being raked over the coals for CR's box office loss to "Happy Feet."Still a depressing thread.
It all illustrates our widely varying perceptions of what a Bond film should be and how passionate we are about giving them voice.

I knew nothuing about him but my friends told me "trust me Daniel will be your favouritwe bond if you loved Dalton you will love Craig" so i trusted them and and you know what they were right Hell i love Quantum of solace the game solely because i get to play as my fave bond.
now if Activision could give me a new DC as bond game (with Daniel doing the voice0 i'd be much happier.
Daniel Craig is james bond can't wait to see him return in bond 23.

Does anyone know if there were there any long-standing members who left for good during that time?
