Any other "unknown" would also get little to no votes...

View Post

the poll is linked to a full article from Reuters on speculation he could be the next Bond. there are pictures of the actors to vote, so actually this is a very good chance for him... because everyone's heard his name today and seeing the picture they vote.
Which makes exactly the point I and other people are stating here: he doesn't look like Bond at all.

And positively out of place even in a normal suit, let alone a tuxedo.
I don't like the looks of the man AT ALL just like your colleagues. And I think he's got none of the looks and none of the class to be Bond. But I don't make casting decisions.
I must tell you Lord, your line on Putin and the cheap toupee had me fall off the chair laughing..!! :)
Still, if they do cast him (and I don't think they will), they must have a reason.. I don't know what it is but there must be one. (yes aside from "they're mad!"). :)

Yeah no word from CBN or MI6 or any of the other fan sites. Oh yeah CBN was quick to jump the gun on Brosnan rumors "sources say younger Bond" etc. But neither is wanting to either confirm nor deny this Craig rumor. Interesting at the least.

ESPN's sports roundtable discussion show "Around the Horn" had a little topic on Bond. They announced that Daniel Craig was "confirmed" as Bond. They were discussing whether a blonde Bond was OK. One said Bond was irrelevant in today's world (The Cold War is over blah blah blah) and the other said James Bond should be black, with cornrows.

And another thing, how was our Eon, Sony Considering Young Bonds story "jumping the gun"? Did it turn out to not be true? Far from it. With all we know now, I'd say this was the scoop of scoops. Okay, yes, our last Pierce story was "jumping the gun", and I've apologized for that -- twice.

Also. You complain that we haven't rushed anything up on our main page about this in the same breath you accuse us to too often jumping the gun? But wouldn't rushing something up unconfirmed be jumping the gun?

Besides, what's about to go up on our main page next is MUCH more...fun. Wait for it. :)

Errr.. it seems like another 46,000 or so people agree with Sean C and myself... (and besides it isn't only a handful of people or Sean and myself stating we don't like Craig as Bond).

here is the link to the poll which was cited above in the forum, and nobody gave a link for. It's a poll of TODAY on msnbc.. so BIG news website.

http://www.msnbc.msn..._newBond_050427

let's say that, to put it mildly, Craig doesn't exactly get the highest number of votes.
The proportion is this: Brosnan and Jackman get 24,000 and 22,000 each. Craig gets 1,600.
Numbers speak for themselves.

[mra]I think your misinterpreting votes for people. How many times did you vote on that poll?

I suppose I am naive but how do all these so called "leaks" really get out? I have this feeling that EON, Sony and the Broccoli/Campbell crew are either laughing their heads off at all this speculation or are going about their business without even caring what the fans on the net and the tabloids say. It may be that Bond is "none of the above". They have a movie to put together and really aren't concerned with all this nonsense. They are way too busy. Do these "insiders" and these "leaks" to the press really know anything? I kind of doubt it. :) :)

Anyhoo.. so yeah.. CBS essentially said the "smart money would be on Craig". Nothing else was really said. They showed him signing some autographs and some shots from him in Layer Cake after doing a "Bond has been played by 5 actors and is a cultural icon..." bit. If anyone cared to know.....

Nothing too much, just all the "New Bond" excitement in the preview and then the "...may be Bond, etc..." in the actual report. They at least know how to catch the viewer's attention. :)

Highlighted Craig, his "relationship" with Sienna Miller now, and how Brosnan doesn't want to leave quietly.

If a decision has been made and Craig or whomever has signed the dotted line then tomorrow or Friday would be the day. I'd say the weekend (Sat & Sun) are out regardless. Those just aren't good announcement days for anything.

I'm hoping Stax was right and it's Thursday. I'm so tired of all the tabloids, rumors etc. I'd rather get back to bitching about Bond possibly driving a Panda :)
