Here's a pic of Craig
looking positively Bondian,
with darker hair.

Ummm . . . BON-SAN: Has my friend BONDIAN, of James Bond & Beyond, seen this allegation of yours?

More to the point: have his solicitors?

That was actually Harmsway that said that Craig was looking Bondian in that picture. And then Slaezenger disagreed. And I commented on Slaezenger's comment.

The "Quote" function takes a bit of getting used to! Welcome to the forum Dalton's Wendy.

Boy he's ugly ...

He is so ugly, that, in the Oxford International Dictionary (unabridged edition)(2,536 pages), right next to the word UGLY, is a picture of Daniel Craig!

ROTFL Wendy! :)
lol... very good one.
I do agree..
And welcome, although much more illustrious members than myself have already welcomed you! :)

Thank you, Alessandra! And your welcome means a great deal, since I note you are Milanese. Having visited Milan many, many times, I must say that it ranks alongside New York as one of my two favourite cities in the world: great shopping, great dining, and the most elegant of women. Next time I visit, let's do lunch at Bice or Bagutta!

If I want to watch a good gritty movie with an ugly star I will stay home and save my money and watch an old Humphrey Bogart movie on AMC.

View Post

Interesting that you find both Bogart and Craig ugly. Bogart was quite the sex symbol in his day.

View Post

Sorry, you watch Sabrina (my favourite movie of all times. The original I mean, with Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart and William Holden), and you clearly see who is the sex symbol (Holden) and who instead is the down-to-earth guy that you've got to take because he's more reliable and not a womanizer or sex symbol. (Bogart).

View Post

Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, YES!!!! SABRINA -- the most glorious, romantic movie ever filmed! Darling Audrey! The Givenchy wardrobe! William Holden! -- WILLIAM HOLDEN!!!!! I knew there was something about you I liked right away, Alessandra!

Seriously -- Bogart was never considered a sex symbol in his day -- to women, that is. Men admired Bogart for his tough, gritty demeanour, his trench coat, and the way he held a cigarette. But in those days, women were swooning over Clark Gable, Cary Grant, and later, Gregory Peck and The Divine WILLIAM!

The sexiest thing Bogart ever did was to marry Lauren Bacall, some twenty-odd years his junior! :)

Thanks for the comments... I couldn't sleep so here are two other Craig posters:  :)

Let me know what you think.

Great work, Binyamin! (also your post above, #409 -- unfortunately, Craig was just too ugly for words in that picture, but you certainly couldn't help that!)

Interesting, though, that the hand you dealt to Craig in bond.3 was only three-of-a-kind.

Couldn't you have given him a better hand -- say, a royal flush? :)

Sabrina is just my alltime favourite movie, I have an original poster of the movie hung up in my bedroom!:)
Exactly as you saidm the most glorious, romantic and i would add the WITTIEST movie ever filmed!
needless to say, I too, ADORE William Holden. Though we won't compete there, because my favourite of the time remains Cary Grant (no more men like him, the recipe to make one like that is lost forever!). now Cary Grant.. HE was the perfect image of Bond! lol :)
So Mr Craig.. watch Cary Grant movies and note down: how to be elegant, how to be classy, how to be the PERFECT man to be Bond!.... LOL :)

I'm thrilled that you mentioned Cary Grant, because, last month, on the Mr. Kiss! Kiss! Bang! Bang! forum, we started a game called "FAMOUS ACTORS WHO COULD PLAY BOND -- IF ONLY THEY WERE STILL ALIVE". I started off the game by suggesting Cary Grant as the perfect example. (Although Gregory Peck would have done a great job, too!)

However, that is one of the key characteristics of James Bond: women have to swoon over him. (Just like I do every time I see TIMOTHY DALTON). :)

Daniel Craig, however, is simply not, and never could be, swoonerama.

According to more than one Bogart bio, Bogie DID get tons of female fan letters, beginning with the release of Casablanca.

A few other "non-cuties" who inspired (at least for a time) a huge female audience: Robert Mitchum, Frank Langella, and Bela Lugosi.

It's about presence, self-confidence, and charisma. Of course, looks don't hurt --- take it from me. :)

Robert Mitchum had IT -- Frank Langella happened to be gorgeous -- as for Bela Lugosi . . . ? Well, there's no accounting for tastes!

You, of course, are correct: presence, self-confidence, and charisma all are key factors in the make-up of IT. In the final analysis, looks don't mean a darn thing.

However, I'm certain that females the world over will agree with me that JAMES BOND should be, if not drop-dead gorgeous, at least marginally handsome. I stand by my post above, of 12:40 p.m., Eastern time! :)

Dalton's Wendy,

You're right, based on your 12:40 post, based on that picture.

However, Craig DOES have some Chameleon-like qualities, based on his appearances in a variety of movies.

I don't think women seeing CR next fall will be saying "hide your eyes, children!" (I hope...)

AHEM. on Sienna Miller there's no certainty.
As for Kate Moss. have you taken a look at her current fiance?? eeeeekkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!
she's never been with handsome guys. She likes the "damned and mysterious" type. Johnny Depp for example. "damned and mysterious". good looking, handsome, is another thing.
Daniel Craig responds to the above profile. And also has that sort of bohemien look (which is yet another reason why he's totally not ok as Bond), that she seems to like in her boyfriends.
