Tarl--back from the dead, just like the Chargers! Well, I think they should have been doing this for the past several years, except that the owner of the team wouldn't make the changes necessary to put some leadership in the coaching staff. A bit of talent was wasted during those years.
Talk is cheap at this point in the season. The Broncos are the better team, but we will know fairly soon who will represent the AFC-West going forward. More importantly, will someone please tell Philip Rivers that a bolo tie and button down shirt are only in fashion for prostitute-killing truck drivers?
GO BRONCOS

*high-fiving my fellow Bronco buddy, Eric* Oh yeah a chance for revenge for what happened in Week 15... Tarl Cabot, my friend..".no longer just an anonymous star on the memorial board at CBN.." Should be a hell of a game!

Anyone else think it would be funny to see the Patriots down Pete Carroll in the Super Bowl? The same Pete Carroll who coached the team out of a playoff birth in 1999, leading to both Belichick's hiring and Brady's drafting in 2000 as well as 3 Super Bowls by 2004. Anyone?....Anyone?....No?....Just me?

Actually, I think it'd be kinda funny for Pete Carroll's Seahawks to down the Patriots for that very same reason.

I didn't realize prostitute killing truck drivers were so fashionable! Nice...I'll rock the bolo tie anytime(but I don't have the country accent to make it work as well as Rivers).
Yes, Denver is the better team.Historic, all time record winning stats don't lie. We'll see tommorow. I'm going in with an open mind... Go Bolts!!

Yes, back from the dead....first playoff game ever between SD and Denver...crazy! Mid way through the season I didn't think SD would make it this year but I liked what I saw as a preview for the future so I wanted Denver to win it all this year and get fat and happy so we can win it next year....but then a funny thing happend....we made it in so screw next year ! Go Bolts!!
Go Bolts!

Well, here we go again. Manning-Brady AFC Championship Take 3....

The NFL really needs to do something about the officiating these days. I can't remember a game that was officiated as poorly as the San Francisco-Carolina game this afternoon. Granted, in the second half the Panthers didn't play well enough to win and the 49ers did, but there was no excuse for the one-sided officiating that plagued that matchup. The NFL preaches about the "integrity" of their game, and how they'll do anything to protect it, so how about we get some decent officials working these playoff games and not have it appear as though the league is favoring one team over the other, as was the case this afternoon in Carolina.

* raises a beer to clink with Eric* WOO!! That monkey from last year's playoff debacle monkey is off our backs!! What a game!!.... Sorry Tarl...but I commend you on the Chargers' season and being able to make it this far when nobody gave them a shot. Mike McCoy is obviously a great choice for them as coach and I look forward to some more great match-ups next season.. Yeah we got to keep looking over our shoulders at both Kansas City and San Diego in the division..
Right...bring on Brady and the Pats...It should be a GREAT game!!

Cheers to you, Dove. I didn't like a lot of what I saw today from the Broncos. NE could eat our lunch if we play that way again. Dropped balls, anyone?! Completely unsatisfactory. The Charger fans I watched the game with here in SD were really disappointed in the Charger effort today. But, the AFC-W is better for all the new competition and we are one of the best divisions once again, which is great to see. GO BRONCOS

It's strange to think too that the two best divisions in football are currently the AFC and NFC Wests. For a long time, they were the WORST divisions. Perpetually, teams would win the AFC West with either an 8-8 or 9-7 record. In the NFC West, we had a division winner that was 7-9. It's funny to see how it's flipped.

Congrats to Denver on the win. They should have won as they are the greatest show on...tundra? Chargers looked a little sluggish and a step short all day but they did make a game out of it at the end and beat the points spread-certainly better than Indy's effort againts the Pats. Just not enough.
I'm pretty happy with the season once I step back and look at where we were at 5-7 and loosing games to Oakland and Miami. The playoffs set the expectations for next year and Chargers have a lot to look forward to. We need another draft before we can be a SB ready team.
I'm rooting for Manning to knock out Brady and win his second SB.

Ken Whisenhunt named Head Coach of the Tennessee Titans
Didn't see that one coming. Thought the Lions would be the team that Whisenhunt ended up coaching.

That's depressing. I'm suddenly less interested in this year's Super Bowl....
Posted 19 January 2014 - 11:48 PM
Congrats to the Broncos, as the better team clearly won this game.
Very glad they won. Not sure I would have even bothered watching a New England vs. 49ers/Seahawks Super Bowl.

I absolutely hate Crapernick and Harbaugh.

Congrats to Denver(and The Dove, have fun ) and Seattle. Two top seeds finally make it to the SB together. Should be a good game.
Posted 20 January 2014 - 04:39 AM
Seattle is going to have to play much better than they have the past month or so, especially on offense, or this could be a rather lopsided Super Bowl. Denver looked very impressive today.

Their offense has been unimpressive for a while now. They're passing game has been particularly unimpressive as of late, and if they can't get that straightened out in the next two weeks, the only chance they'll have is if the defense can completely shut down Manning and that offense.

* puts on the monotone voice of Blofeld's Command Center announcer from DAF* 4 days....AND COUNTING!!
Posted 29 January 2014 - 10:00 PM
It'll be four very long days, too, Dove. I'm nervous as a cat over here in San Diego and barely sleeping. When I do sleep I can't stop having these nightmares where I get a eurof*g haircut and start dressing like Tom Brady. Two weeks is waaaay too long between championship/SB games. It's going to take a few bone dry martinis and perhaps a DC 007 film marathon to get me through this!
Posted 30 January 2014 - 07:14 PM
Right..now that the Media Days are all done with..
Lol.. A Bond movie or two plus martinis sound like a great idea, Eric.. I still feel confident plus now that the forecast is for 46 (cloudy, but only a 10% chance of snow).. "I think your odds are improving, Mr. Manning" - as Rene Mathis might have said in Casino Royale..

I'm doing a rain dance as we speak.
Go Hawks!

I really have no emotional investment in this game, so I hope its a good one and nobody gets injured.
Posted 03 February 2014 - 04:32 AM
That was the worst Super Bowl since Buffalo and Dallas. Even the commercials were bad.
Happy for Seattle and the Seahawks played a near perfect game.
Who was that wearing Peyton Manning's uniform for Denver?

Sorry, Dove. I had picked Denver to win and was rooting for them.
Posted 03 February 2014 - 05:14 PM
That was hands down the worst Super Bowl I'd ever watched. Even worse than Baltimore-New York and Tampa-Oakland.
