I'm utterly heartbroken...That's all I can say..
At least your team actually showed up. I don't think Green Bay even showed up to San Francisco.

49ers advance and i go 0-2 on my picks so far. Happy for Baltimore though.

0-2 on mine as well, now I will go vomit again.

Haha all the teams that I rooted for lost.. especially the Packers loss was sad.
Wow the Atlanta vs. Seahawks game was great, very close!

Considering how this game went... this was a heart breaker.

If only the replacements were there....

You going to ride that into the ground?
Posted 14 January 2013 - 04:02 AM
Again, two VERY thrilling games today...
Seahawks vs Falcons...*EPIC FACEPALM* Oh Pete Carroll, why oh why did you call that time out?? Matt Bryant MISSED that kick..LOL... Still though, congrats to the Falcons and to Tony Gonzales who after 16 seasons, FINALLY gets a playoff win!
Texans vs Patriots....Oh Texans...does the concept of hurry the hell up mean anything to you?? That last drive you seemed to be taking your sweet-ass time in trying to catch up point wise..LOL.. Dear Patriots, take it from me as a Bronco fan..the Ravens are a very, VERY dangerous team...you have been warned!!

Anyway, back to the Super Bowl. It's Tom Brady vs. well there's really no QB left that matches up with Brady. Who are you going to pick?
Patriots
Ravens
Falcons
49ers

At the same time though.. if I were a coach I would have done that too. He had no idea that the kicker was going to miss. The Seahawks played a really great game though.

That's just it though. I would never try to ice the kicker. I really hate that strategy. It makes it especially sweet when it backfires like it did with Pete Carroll.

I think that's really dumb.. it's funny how it didn't even work lol
I really hope the Patriots lose and the 49ers. Ravens and the Falcons in the superbowl! Though I don't think that's going to happen but that's what I want to happen

If I were a betting man (which I'm not for very personal reasons) I'd probably put my money on the Patriots at this point. There are no Mannings left to beat him and I just don't see Flacco, Kaepernick, or Matt Ryan being able to match Tom Brady punch for punch.
Posted 15 January 2013 - 08:16 PM
Hope the Ravens are able to keep Ray's final ride going all the way into the Super Bowl.

That's so depressing though because I would love to see a team win the Superbowl that isn't the Patriots or the Giants.

Don't worry, the Patriots won't win the Super Bowl. Gronk is out for the Patriots and two out of the three other teams are better then the Patriots are as a team. Doesn't matter how good a QB is, it won't do them any good if the rest of the team doesn't show up.
Hope the Ravens are able to keep Ray's final ride going all the way into the Super Bowl.
They will.

Oh get over it already. Your team are a bunch of choke artists. 15-1 and lose to a wild card Giants team last year and then get killed by the 49ers. But keep with the snide remarks. I'll be right here to prove you wrong on all of them.

I saw that loss coming a mile away last year. 32nd ranked defense going against one of the league's best pass rushes? Yea, most Packer fans had the feeling we weren't going to win in 2011.
But if you want to play that game: Waah, we're the Seahawks and we can't get over the refs blowing a call in the Super Bowl.....waahaahaa. We're awesome man, we made the playoffs at 7-9, it goes to show that you can suck and it doesn't matter! But I do agree that you should've beaten the Falcons, I mean Atlanta intercepted the ball in the endzone, Seattle should've been awarded a touchdown.

I thought that the Patriots were going to win for sure according to some? What happened?!
Posted 21 January 2013 - 03:47 AM
I predicted a brother vs. brother Super Bowl! IN YOUR FACE!!
Unfortunately, it was Manning vs Manning.

Ray's final ride has one last stop in New Orleans.
The Harbaughs are taking sibling rivalries to a whole new level.

Well, as I have family in New England, I was rooting for the Patriots..blah!! Still though I tip my hat to the Ravens for an inspired performance and have nothing but respect for the great Ray Lewis.. They played a great game... Now to the 49ers and Falcons..Congrats to the Niners for surving being down early and pulling out the win..Sadly for Atlanta, blowing leads has become an all too familiar theme..but hats off to them for a great season..
Now to the big game...San Francisco vs Baltimore...Harbaugh vs Harbaugh...its gonna be an AWESOME GAME!!
Posted 21 January 2013 - 05:27 AM
Just in disbelief. I don't know what to say, still nowhere near as bad as after 42 though.....

I was half right on who was going to the super bowl. I picked the falcons and the ravens to go.
Thank god the Patriots lost their game. It made my day yesterday.
Ravens for the Superbowl win!

This could be the big news of the offseason if Woody Johnson and the new GM John Idzik actually go through with it:
SOURCE: Jets to shop Darrelle Revis
Posted 24 January 2013 - 04:53 PM
Definitely could be. I think they need to get rid of Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez first though.
Posted 24 January 2013 - 05:25 PM
I don't think they need to get rid of Rex Ryan. When he's had talent on the roster he's done a phenomenal job with the team. I think he's been humbled by the past season and he is still (which is sad to say given he's only had two good seasons) the second most successful coach in the history of the franchise (four playoff victories, two AFC Championship game appearances). Mark Sanchez will still be there, but I don't think will be the starter. They'll bring in someone like Alex Smith, Matt Flynn (a good possibility since Idizik was hired from the Seahawks), Tavaris Jackson, or Matt Moore to compete with Sanchez, and whoever that person is will win the job.
I love the idea of trading Revis. If they can resign Laron Landry, then they'll basically return what was a Top 5 (#2, I think it was) pass defense that played the entire season without him. Cromartie played out of his mind this season and really responded to being the #1 corner on the defense, so I'd give him the opportunity to keep going with that. Kyle Wilson also made strides taking over Cromartie's old job as the #2. They can get a major haul for Revis that will really go a long way towards fixing the offense. They should hold out for multiple #1 picks (they should get at least 2 first rounders, thanks to the Redskins setting a high market price for such a trade by trading 3 #1 picks for RGIII) and/or lower picks and a big-time offensive playmaker.
Posted 24 January 2013 - 07:34 PM
That is very true. I'm not sure about trading for draft picks though. This figures to be one of the weaker drafts in awhile. They really need to focus on the offense, specifically the offensive line and the receiving core. Santonio Holmes is not enough and it doesn't matter who is playing QB if there is no one to block. Their run game is fine, but they need an offensive line, receivers and a competent quarterback to even compete.

I think the idea would be, at least if I were the GM, to try to get multiple #1 picks, one from this upcoming draft and then one from next year's draft. If you could get that, then trade either your own #1 pick this year or the one you receive via the trade and trade that for multiple picks in rounds 2-7 to do what the Patriots do and amass a stockpile of draft picks. That way you can get some fresh young talent that can fill the numerous roster needs that also comes relatively cheap, which is crucial for a team that is 19 million over the salary cap.
They're not going to find the next franchise QB through the draft, I don't think, but that's what the #1 next year could be used for.
As for Santonio Holmes, I hope Idzik releases him as soon as he's finished with his evaluation of the roster. I'd retain Braylon Edwards and Jeremy Kerley and let them battle for the #2 receiver job and then go out either in free agency or the draft and find a #1 receiver.
