Super Bowl Predictions

I doubt the Jets will be very good this year, anyway. We're probably looking at 6-10 or 7-9 with maybe an outside chance to make the playoffs if they get lucky in a couple of those games and eek out a win or two more than what I'd expect from them. So my feeling is, if the season's going to be one of the more mediocre ones in recent seasons, and all signs point to it being that, why not at least make it entertaining? I've been through the 4-12 seasons where the Jets weren't controversial, weren't entertaining, they were just bad. If you're going to be mediocre or bad, why not at least entertain the fans for the 16 weeks of the season along the way?

The Packers sign former Colts C Jeff Saturday to a contract. Good move as Indy looks to be a wasteland right now.

Well this tears it...based upon this latest audio evidence of Gregg Williams urging his players to actually target injured 49ers players the night before the playoff game between San Francisco and New Orleans, I would definitely think his 'indefinite suspension' should be turned into a LIFETIME BAN...this is just sickening!

And before I get accused of being a Saints basher, I'd say the same thing if this were the New York Jets. There is no place for any of this nonsense in football.

Bill Simmons may be polarizing to some readers, but he has an interesting take on this drama.

The Greg Williams audio release didn't help & Sean Gleeson (the former Saints player who was a subject of the documentary that had the Williams audio) has stated he felt betrayed by the film maker & has criticized the release.
Not condoning Williams, but you must be naive if NFL coaches before games don't tell players to hit players who have injury issues. We all know this is a collision sport & it is win at all costs (In the NFL). Granted I don't think you should hit a guy in the head or at his knees-I want to hit them cleanly & legally. But the language (other than where to hit, paying $) is what you hear in the locker room before a NFL game.

Very safe to say the Saints will have a top 8 pick next year. Having 2 different Interim HC's is never good. Bring back the Aints!
Coming soon-I know its been a few years but I am going to do a mock draft sometime this wknd. I think we all know who the 1st 2 picks are (Luck, RG3)
Was glad that Benson bought the Hornets-very good to have them stay here.

EDIT: Full schedule up on NFL.com
I've got to say, I'm loving the Jets schedule for this season, although my one reservation with it is that it looks as though it's clearly designed to put pressure on the Jets to start Tim Tebow at QB at some point during the middle of the season. The first five games are against teams with (or at least should have) excellent defenses: vs. Buffalo, @ Pittsburgh, @ Miami, vs. San Francisco, vs. Houston). By the time the Jets make their way through that, assuming that Mark Sanchez doesn't become the second coming of Peyton Manning, the crowd will be in an absolute frenzy for Tim Tebow to take over as I can't imagnie Sanchez performs well enough to keep the Tebow supporters at bay.
The second half of the schedule is tailor-made for Tim Tebow to successfully lead the Jets to the playoffs: after their Week 9 bye, where you'd expect a switch to Tebow if one is to be made, the Jets have: @ Seattle, @ St. Louis, Thanksgiving night vs. New England, vs. Arizona, @ Jacksonville, @ Tennessee, vs. San Diego, and @ Buffalo. That's a pretty easy home stretch (minus New England, of course), so one has to wonder if this was done with the intention of once again shining the spotlight on Tim Tebow for another improbable run to the playoffs.

Those definitely do make the Broncos throwbacks you were talking about look good by comparison. I'd rather see the Jets back in those hideous Titans uniforms again than have to look at those eyesores. What I want to know is, why can't these teams simply come up with two uniforms (home and away) and stick with those? With that said, I'm dreading what the Jets alternative jersey will look like. Hopefully they'll be similar to those fake Nike uniform designs that were floating around, with a black/green color scheme with the 1980s Jets logo on a black helmet. I think Tebow would look great in that when he takes over the starting job in Week 10.

Here's a thought-why don't the Steelers use the 1970's uniforms as their throwbacks? (Don't tell me their uniforms haven't changed since then, that's bull and you know it!)

I lived in Denver when Elway came to town. Instant fan, Now, I'm not so sure I agree with his business decisions.
Should have kept Tebow to tutor under Manning.

A popular name has been Dontari Poe the DT from Memphis, who a lot of experts have been talking about. While an excellent physical presence, I have to doubt his desire to play every down-but not when he chooses to play hard. I just don't see him as a 1st Round Pick. Some on this draft have been labelled lower, but going higher, as happens every year, (Jeffery from Carolina, Randle from LSU) sometimes do become 1st Round Picks. I evaluated some teams the best way I could (need vs best player available), but if I knew something a team needed desperately then I overruled the best player available and went with the need.

Saints GM Mickey Loomis allegedly eavesdropped on opposing coaches playcalling from 2002-2004. While he is free from any legal issues he is still open to civil & action from the NFL.
How bad was Aaron Brooks?! Jeez...

And the New York Jets today announced that they plan to use Tim Tebow.....ON SPECIAL TEAMS AS A PUNT PROTECTOR!! I'm sorry, tdalton and killkenny..I just gotta LMAO at this...I just hope he doesn't get injured on the first punt of the season..I would suspect the Jets faithful wouldn't appreciate it at all..
http://www.nfl.com/n..._headline_stack
I think that this is a brilliant move by the Jets. It'll be hard for an opposing team to go into an all-out block formation against their punt team, as Tebow would always be a threat to step in front of the snap and lob a pass to the tight end on a seam route. It also gives them the opportunity to go for fourth and short situations out of the punt formation.
I've also heard some rumors that they might use Tebow as a running back in the traditional offense, with Sanchez under center, as well. Given that I think that most Jets fans consider Greg McElroy to be the true #2 QB (and I think most Jets fans are fairly comfortable with the idea of him getting his chance should Sanchez and/or Tebow get injured or not perform well), I think the Jets should use Tebow in whatever manner they want away from the QB position. The reason that I think this all will work is that Rex Ryan and Tony Sparano are very, very committed to the idea of running the ball, something I don't think that the Broncos and the combo of Elway and John Fox ever really were, even when it was working well for them. Elway wants to have a throwing offense, which is understandable since that's what Elway knows, but Ryan, I think, can help pave a rejuvenation of the ground attack with a weapon like Tebow that the NFL doesn't see come along all that often. As critical as I was of Tebow last year, I've got to admit, I'm pumped for this season, and can't wait to see what kind of crazy things Rex and Sparano come up with for this new ground game.
