Maybe the Broncos can trade Tebow to the Jets to make this awful offseason even worse for the league's most dysfunctional team.

Cheers tdalton...man I do hope that Tebow could go to your Jets... I am beginning to see what you have been saying about Mark Sanchez all along..Overrated QB.. Tebow could bring some energy and excitement to the Jets there is no doubt about that..Most likely trade destination I'm hearing for him..his home town of Jacksonville...Man the Jaguars REALLY need a guy like Tebow to save their franchise.
I actually want Tebow to go to Jacksonville. That's an organization that fits him best (i.e. they actually want him) and probably fits into his mentality of having hardworking people around him that actually try.
On the subject of Manning, now the Broncos need to go out and get some receivers. If they can get one or two solid #2 receivers or maybe even a true #1 receiver, then I can only imagine how entertaining those two Broncos-Chargers games are going to be each year for the next few years. I get the feeling we're going to see either the first Sunday Night or first Monday Night game this season being a matchup between the Broncos and the Chargers.

Now if only another franchise QB can get his deal approved.....
If Tebow is traded I agree it should be Jacksonville. He'd be close to home & likely keep the Jags there.
Former LSU & Green Bay QB Matt Flynn signs with the Seahawks. If history is an indicator this bodes well for them-remeber Matt Hassellbeck? He was a backup in Green Bay & lead them to a Super Bowl as well as multiple playoff appearances.

He'll probably land with one of the Florida teams.
@ESPNLKCornetta - John Clayton on ESPN Radio said if Broncos get Manning the rumor circulating is Denver would trade Tebow to #Patriots

I think if he goes to a Florida team, it will most likely be Jacksonville, as word is they've always wanted Tebow. Granted, there is new ownership now, but I could see them bringing Tebow there to finally sell some tickets and take the tarps off of some of the upper level seats for the first time in a while.
Outside of Jacksonville, I would imagine that Tebow is looking at a lot of potential backup jobs or maybe a place or two where he could be in a fair quarterback competition.

The Jets, Patriots, Jaguars and Dolphins have all showed interest in Tebow.
I saw that the Jets were interested via a Tweet that Schefter sent out that someone reposted on a Jets message board. Schefter considers it a longshot, but considering that Schefter hasn't had a great track record when it comes to the Jets in the past year or so (the whole Nnamdi Asomugha thing comes to mind from last summer), I'm expecting Tebow to be formally introduced tomorrow.
As much as I've complained about Tebowmania, Tebow as a Jet might be a good thing. He might help straighten out that terrible locker room of ours, and the hysteria that surrounds him might motivate Sanchez to actually play well for a change in a desperate bid to keep his job.

Denver also has the Patriots on our schedule for the second straight year...hmm Manning vs Brady again..this time with Peyton in a Broncos uniform.. THAT will be entertaining indeed.
Well the press conference is over but I still feel like I'm dreaming over here.
Hate to see Tebow go but I'm sure he will try to get on a team where he has a chance to compete for a starting job. His starting season with the Broncos was one of my favorite of all time, a real rollercoaster ride that finally got me excited about football again. Just my $0.02 but his exciting play and positive attitude were inspirational to me and will be missed. It would be pretty easy to get cynical in the big, bad NFL but I hope he maintains his positive outlook and approach to life.

Get it done Tannenbaum. It can't cost you more than a 6th or 7th rounder, I wouldn't think. Regardless of what I think of him as a QB, he's miles better than the Detroit 3rd stringer who has been talking to the Jets about backing up Sanchez.

Gene Hackman's watching a football game on tv.
Susan Clark: "Who's winning?"
Gene Hackman: "Nobody. One side's just losing slower than the other."

Which further proves my point-if your team hosts the Super Bowl you can forget about them playing in it.

Tim Tebow trade hits snag
Looks like Tebow could be united with former Jets OC Schottenheimer in St. Louis after the Jets complete the botching of this trade.
Apparently the Jets were the only team that "read" Tebow's contract and did not see the payment of five million that would be owed back to the Broncos. I went from feeling pretty good about the Jets for the first time in a while to this once again being yet another embarrassing day to be a Jets fan.
As for Sean Payton, he got what was deserved for such an infraction. I would have levied a harsher suspension if I were commissioner, but this will do. Greg Williams got off light, however. He should have been barred from ever working in the NFL again, although that still could be a possibility if Goodell feels like it in the offseason.

The Jets GM, Mike Tannenbaum, needs to be fired. It's plain and simple at this point. We can't even complete a routine trade now? The clause holding up this contract is one that's in many NFL contracts, based on what I've heard on NFL Network and ESPN today. If the Jets current administration can't successfully complete a routine trade, then they need to find someone to run the team who can. The way I understand it, the 5 million would only create a cap hit of 1.3 million this year as it would spread out over the remaining time on Tebow's contract. That's not a big number, especially considering that they're not really active in free agency this offseason.
And if it's just a case of them being cheap with the 5 million, I can't imagine that they're dumb enough to think that they won't make that back up ten fold in merchandising. If it's that big of a deal, I'll even do my part to pitch in and help by buying a Tebow jersey.

I expect Greg Williams to be done in the NFL. Now way is he allowed back in. (Cough Cough coach at LSU) Sorry had a little cough there.
What an offseason!

My good friend tdalton-I really do feel for you. The Jets really f'd this up big time, and I agree they need to make a front office change. This is a bungle that will be talked about for a while. Crap starts at the top and flows downhill-that little diddy by Mark Schlereth of ESPN.
Tannenbaum afforded himself a lot of leeway with the creative ways that he was able to fit those start-studded teams from 2008-2010 under the salary cap. That's coming back now to bite him in the rear now, and it's evident he was never the genius he was lauded as being. This proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt, if the reports about the Jets not even reading the contract (or worse, not understanding it) are true.
I've agreed with everything I've heard on ESPN today, except for one thing. The idea that this move would be bad because of how Sanchez would feel about it. Well, tough. Sanchez is a professional, and is due some 20 million in guaranteed money over the next few years. If someone gave me that much money, there is nothing that they could do to shake my confidence. I mean, really, even if they took my job away, I could go home and see how long it would take me to count to 20 million. That must be tough. If he's really that insecure, then they need to trade him or release him right now. He's never going to learn how to be confident, it's not something that can be taught. Do I think that Tebow has a chance at starting in New York? No, and I would hope it wouldn't come to that. His job would be to push Sanchez. His job would be to be the catalyst for the "Tebow! Tebow! Tebow!" chants in the stands that would motivate Sanchez. If Sanchez can't handle that, then the Jets need to either start Drew Stanton (or whatever the guy's name is they just signed, I haven't been too bothered to check) or go out and find someone that can stand the heat. Surely Kyle Orton could be had from Dallas for a low-level draft pick.
The sad thing is that the fans of this franchise see what management obviously doesn't. It's probably a cliche to say it, but I honestly do think that the fans could run this franchise better than Woody Johnson and Mike Tanenbaum. They should turn the franchise over to the fans, give us all a vote on a every decision that needs to be made, and close to 99% of the time we'd come out better than those that are currently running the franchise. I say this partly in jest, but I don't really see how the fans could do any worse that the ineptitude that currently defines this "franchise".
I expect Greg Williams to be done in the NFL. Now way is he allowed back in. (Cough Cough coach at LSU) Sorry had a little cough there.
I think there's a small sliver of a chance that he could get back in (probably 2014 before he could coordinate again as I figure that the suspension, if it doesn't turn into an outright ban, would last all this season and at least part of 2013), but in all likelihood, you're probably right in saying that his career is done. I can't say that I feel too terribly sorry for him, though. He brought the punishment of Roger Goodell on himself.
What an offseason!
I didn't think the NFL could top the ridiculous week-long offseason in late July of last year, but they sure seem to be trying. Today alone has been one of the craziest NFL days I've ever seen.

My criticism of Mike Tannenbaum still stands. He bungled this trade beyond words, but at least they got their guy, unlike last year when they basically threw away the entire season on their week long pursuit of Nnamdi Asomogua (sp?). Sanchez now has that guy who will push him, which Mark Brunnell was not able to do. I disagree with the analysts who say it's a bad move because of Sanchez's fragile psyche. This is going to be the year they find out of Sanchez can handle being a starting QB. If Sanchez can't handle it, then you trade or release him in the offseason and decide if you want to move forward with Tebow or a QB not already on the roster. Coupled with the signing of La'Ron Landry a couple of days ago, this has been a good week (minus the revelation that our front office has no clue what they're doing) for the Jets in the midst of an otherwise poor offseason.
I feel sorry for Drew Stanton, the QB they signed last week to backup Sanchez. He was promised that they would not draft another QB and that they would not bring in Tebow and that he would be guaranteed the backup job, yet here Tebow is. According to the NFL Network, they expect him to ask for his release after only a week on the job. It's still not the shortest tenure for a Jets employee, though.

I think this is great because it puts the process of what would have taken place over the next 2-3 seasons into an accelerated timeline and will allow the decision on Sanchez to be made after this season rather than later on down the road.
