I know Denver has a BRUTAL schedule!! I'm actually quite worried! We open up on the road (for the 6th straight year) against the Jacksonville Jaguars.. Then we have the Seahawks, Colts, Titans, Ravens, Jets, and Raiders before our game in London, England against the 49ers..then a well timed bye week (so the team can get over their jetlag).. The first half of the season will be a true test of how well Josh McDaniels can rebound in his second season of coaching the team!!

BREAKING NEWS:
The NFL has suspended Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger for SIX games for violating the league's personal conduct policy!! and it also appears the Steelers are getting more active in trying to trade Ben.. I think that we can count out Pittsburgh for a Super Bowl run..

So, if I read it correctly there are about 6 hours to the first round of the draft. There are already zany rumors being floated in the press. The most interesting to me is that Denver is interested in Tebow...let the games begin.

-There is a reason that Denver took Tebow, Dove. Using McDaniel's line of logic, if he can win 10 games w/ a guy who hadn't started since High School, he could win with Tebow. I'm expecting Orton to start, Quinn couldn't hit the broadside of a barn. Tebow won't start, but it will make Denver's use of the Wildcat interesting.
-Looks like the Jets are starting a youth movement on the O-line and at RB, I'm biased b/c Alan Faneca went to LSU, but with Joe McKnight on the roster, and Leon Washington gone, plus add Shonn Greene and LaDanian Tomlinson to the mix, and the Jets may be a better team. Also I liked the 1st round pick, this makes that defense all the better.
-SO who had the best drafts? IMO-Detroit, Philly and the Jets were the winners, the losers were the Redskins (b/c they had a couple of picks), Jacksonville & the Raiders (I think they did better than they have in recent years, but the Raider name has no punch to it anymore. Enjoy picking in the top 10 for years to come).

I'm just dumbfounded at this move.. Clearly McDaniels has NO confidence in Kyle Orton, Brady Quinn (why the did we trade for him then??) or our QB whom we drafted last year, Tom Brandstater.. This Tebow pick was a terrible waste of a trade (we gave up THREE picks to Baltimore to get back into the 1st round to get Tim)...*sigh* I give up trying to figure out Josh McDaniels' madness!!
Pure insanity, right? Maybe some silver lining in this? Perhaps the team can capitalize on being the craziest team in the NFL. I mean, who wants to play a coach/team who's so psychotic that they could go off on you in a major way on any given Sunday? Team tag line can be something like "We've got armadillos in our mile high trousers."
At least we won't have one of those boring 9-7 Shannahan/Plummer seasons. The whack factor and drama should be something this year. I'll be ready to sit down and strap in when the time comes.

It's good to see that the fantastic offseason the Jets have had has come to an end, just as I thought it would. Only the New York Jets could find a way to ruin what should be a special season. If you're under contract for three more seasons, then you honor your contract, rather than whining when you haven't been paid after having just one good season as a pro. I can't see how anyone on this team could expect to get more money. They were a 9-7 football team last year (the same record that got Eric Mangini fired and Brett Favre basically sent packing from the organization) and just happened to get lucky that the Colts and Bengals made them 2009's charity case.
I say trade Revis to Oakland straight up for Nnamdi Asomugha, who has actually expressed interest in playing for the Jets.
And this is whining that's happening when the team is supposedly a Super Bowl favorite. I can't imagine how much complaining will be coming out of that locker room when they're sitting at 1-4 or 0-5 and out of the playoff picture after all of the expectations the media has unjustly put on them.

Michael Vick - possibly in trouble again for being in the wrong place at the wrong time?? We'll wait and see..
Cedric Benson...arrested again!! I forsee a lengthy suspension for him coming..ala Pacman Jones..
Steelers - (as if they didn't have enough problems with the Big Ben situation) lose Willie Colon for the year with a torn Archilies..yikes!!
Vincient Jackson (this will not make Tarl_Cabot happy) - not only is he holding out from SD camp but was just suspended for 3 games for his drunk driving charge..I'm also upset about this as he represents my alma mater, U. of Northern Colorado..
and the biggest shocker..Titans (and former Broncos QB) Chris Simms arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana..with his pregnant wife in the car at the time!! Wow!! He never struck me as the type...but I am glad we got rid of him as he was AWFUL in relief of the injured Kyle Orton last season..
and the fun will surely continue!

The New York Jets versus The Atlanta Falcons
The South shall rise again.
I'd love to see that happen, but I just can't see it. The Falcons may very well make the Super Bowl (after all, the third year of a new coach's tenure is supposed to be THE year), but quite honestly, I don't think the Jets even make the playoffs, and if they do, they sneak in as the #6 seed. I've seen this kind of hype built up around the Jets far too many times before in the past, and each time there was this much hype, they didn't even make the postseason. This year won't be any different. The running game won't be nearly as good this season, and just like Joe Flacco, Mark Sanchez will most likely take a step backward this season, which is pretty bad because he didn't perform all that well (with the exception of the AFC Championship Game) last season. I think the other factor that needs to be put out there, that ESPN and the rest of the media seems to be ignoring, is that they weren't a very good team last year. A 9-7 record is simply mediocre (and why the NFL seems to think that simply having a winning record is reason enough for a team to make the playoffs is beyond me), and the only reason they're given the amount of hype that they are is that they were made a charity case by the Colts, and then beat an unraveling Bengals team twice in a row, and then got lucky out in San Diego.

Terrell Owens...where will he go? The Bengals or Jets? I really see bad things happening with either choice..him joining up with OchoCinco in Cincinnati..ugh..talk about prima donna overload!! and if he ends up with the NY Jets, I hope Mark Sanchez takes notes from Tony Romo after what happened when TO was in Dallas..
Brett Favre...JUST MAKE A DECISION ALREADY!! I'm getting the feeling that Brad Childress is starting to run out of patience with Favre...sheesh!!
Anyways, should be an interresting season!!

Hopefully he goes to the Bengals. I shudder to think that the Jets would do this to their franchise QB. They've already got three WRs who have been #1-type receivers on other teams: Edwards (Browns), Cotchery (Jets), and Holmes (Steelers, although it's reasonable to argue that Ward was the #1 guy there). Those 3 are all going to want the ball, and then they want to put the ultimate ball-hog into that situation, where he's gotten up in the faces of much more seasoned QBs than Sanchez for not getting him the ball. My only reaction to that signing would be:
Brett Favre...JUST MAKE A DECISION ALREADY!! I'm getting the feeling that Brad Childress is starting to run out of patience with Favre...sheesh!!
Favre's not going to make up his mind anytime soon. As long as ESPN is willing to send a reporter to camp out on his front lawn, and as long as the media is willing to lead with a Favre story every night, regardless of how trivial it is (BREAKING NEWS: Favre ate lunch today), then he's not going to make a decision in any kind of reasonable time. I do hope that he plays, though, because I can't wait to see the media circus that develops when the Vikings come to New York to face the Jets on a Monday Night in that brand new palace they've built in the Meadowlands.

Chargers vs Cowboys/Packers/Vikings/Saints
I'm keep picking the Bolts until I get this right!
I gotta do a bit more research before making predictions but I think San Diego will definitely be in the mix. I don't like their head coach, though. I think with the right guy in that leadership position the Chargers would already have a trophy and be hunting for more. If they do it this season it will be in spite of Norville Turner.
Of course all eyes will turn to Denver once the season starts. Everyone wants to see what Crazy McD will come up with to get the Broncos back to the top, and I'm sure everyone's also as excited as me to see Tebow become next Elway!

I'm not so quick to jump on the Tebow-will-be-the-next-John Elway bandwagen, Eric.. Sure the kid's got talent, but lest we forget we all thought Brian Griese, Jake Plummer, and Jay Cutler were going to be the new Elway.. Tim Tebow has to EARN my respect and admiration before I begin to believe. Unlike the majority of Broncos nation, I'm NOT going to rush out and spend money on a Tebow jersey (already wasted money on a Plummer one..but thank god NOT Cutler) only to have him turn out to not meet expectations. Although I am very keen to see what he can do.. Orton will start and most likely we'll see Tebow in Wildcat formations etc.. should be fun!
Oh in other news... I hope RichmondSpy, you can handle Terrell Owens joining Chad OchoCinco as a member of your Cincinnati Bengals!!

Once I'm done w/ College Reviews I'm gonna tackle the NFL later on. Interesting about Ocho Uno joining Ocho Cinco. Oh and Dove-Time Tebow will win you over, the dude is a football player, and on behalf of the SEC I am glad he is gone-and on a path to doing great in the NFL.
So far I'm very impressed with Tebow's work ethic and the fact he was able to get his contract signed pretty quickly..only missed one pre-camp practice..so yeah I'm excited to see what he can do. Now him signing an endorsement deal with Jockey underwear...hmm?? LOL well at least he's NOT doing women's pantyhose commercials like Joe Namath used to do!! Man, Denver has gotten off to a bad start after only one..count it..ONE practice!! Both our key running backs Knowshown Moreno and Correll Buckhalter went down with serious injuries..but THANK GOD they didn't turn out to be as bad at first thought.. Moreno is expected to miss 3 weeks with a hamstring tear (not a total tear) and Buckhalter will miss one week.. With any luck both should be back and ready to go before the regular season starts..*crossing fingers*

I'm fairly impressed with that as well. It seems like it only took one phone call from the coach to express his disappointment that Tebow wasn't there the first day, and he gets it done and is out there the next. I like that, and it's a mark of a good leader.
Maybe with his willingness to actually sign a contract, he can come play CB for the Jets.

Indeed, tdalton.. I do hope the Darrelle Revis situation gets resolved soon for your Jets..
Meanwhile, looks like "Fat" Albert Haynesworth has failed his conditioning test for a THIRD time!! Seriously, this situation is getting beyond a joke for Mike Shanahan and the Redskins..I think that Haynesworth is a $100 million dollar bust who is quickly making JaMarcus Russell look like a success!!

It won't be resolved and, honestly, I'm not sure I care at this point. The defense is good enough without him and his "me-first" attitude, and I have every confidence that Rex Ryan will revise the defense to accommodate for the loss. Perhaps they end up trading him to Oakland (my choice at this point) or find another way out of this mess such as giving him a short-term contract solution that will get him on the field for this year only to make the Super Bowl run, but I hope they don't cave and give him a new contract. He held out as a rookie to get this deal, and now he wants out of it after having only 1 good season. I guess we'll find out if he'll be a Jet by August 10, when he has to report or lose the year towards free agent eligibility. Hopefully, though, they just trade him to Oakland to get their great CB and pair that guy up with Cromartie.

America's Team makes history by becoming the first team to play in a super bowl in their own stadium--and also win it.
Baltimore 17
Dallas 24
How 'bout them Cowboys!
