Rex Ryan dressing like his brother-awesome! Wonder if Cleveland can knock down another team more talented then them yet again.

I think that it would be nice if Rex Ryan actually spent more time worrying about how to get a putrid offense moving in the right direction than into what ridiculous outfit he's going to wear to the press conference. It would be one thing if they were undefeated and were dominant on both sides of the ball, but the defense is nowhere near as good as it was last year, and the offense is just pathetic, so there really should be less time spent on dressing up and making fun of other coaches (regardless of whether or not it's his brother or not, it's still highly unprofessional) and more time spent on fixing the problems that this team needs to fix if they are going to win the championship that they keep telling everybody they're going to win. As it stands now, they are, at best, a one-and-done playoff team.

Ever since that 59-14 debacle AT HOME by the Raiders, I've been at a serious loss for words to explain the play of my Broncos... Losing the following week in London to the 49ers certainly didn't help either!! :| Well now our bye week is done and we have to face the division leading, Kansas City Chiefs. After that our first match up with the San Diego Chargers (Tarl, I'm sure you are already licking your chops!! :P ) Just this morning linebacker DJ Williams was arrested for DUI...his second in 5 years and looking at a sure suspension...Oh jeez..this is exactly what we did NOT need so close to a CRUCIAL game this weekend!! Man, in looking at our remaining schedule I do NOT see many win-able games for Denver... Outside our rematches vs SD, KC and Oak, we have the Texans, Rams and Cardinals left... all teams quite capable of beating the Broncos... so with a 2-14 or 3-13 ending record, I fully expect Pat Bowlen to do the WISE thing and pull a Jerry Jones and fire Josh McDummy and his staff... For the next coach of the Denver Broncos, I would vote for Brian Billick...no doubt Bill Cowher and Jon Gruden will be enticed away to some of the other potential coaching vacancies...

Super Bowl 45 -- Baltimore Ravens vs. Dallas Cowboys

America's Team makes history by becoming the first team to play in a super bowl in their own stadium--and also win it.

Baltimore 17
Dallas 24

How 'bout them Cowboys!

Oops!

Baltimore still looks okay, but I couldn't have been more wrong about my NFC selection.

Bad play, bad penalties, and bad luck add up to the most disappointing season in Dallas history.

Yeah, how 'bout them Cowboys?

Spygate II, Broncos lose to the Rams at home (valiant effort to make it a 3 point loss, 36-33), we are now 3-8 and yet somehow Josh McDumbass still has the support of Pat Bowlen...I'm absolutely flabbergasted at this logic!! :| Seriously, McDingbat should be FIRED!! No, "If's", "And's" or "But's" about it.. Ahh well this season is totaly shot..time for me to focus my energies on the Denver Nuggets...at least they pulled out a nice win over a VERY tough opponent in the Phoenix Suns the other night..

*singing* Nah-na-na na...Nah..na-na na..Wayhay.. GOODBYE!! So long to Josh McDaniels... B) Pat Bowlen FINALLY woke up and did the right thing by firing McDaniels yesterday... :) I can at long last look forward with some hope for the future of the Denver Broncos!! RB coach Eric Studesville will take over in the interim.. let the speculation begin..if Bill Cowher or Jon Gruden don't pan out, I put my vote for a coach who knows how to win a championship with defense... former Baltimore Ravens coach, Brian Billick..

This whole season has been a travesty and a disaster. I'm so mad I can hardly blog. BUT...since McD just got fired I'm going to join you Dove in a celebratory drink. Here's to Denver getting back on the football map someday. It may take years but this at least is a move in the right direction. And we still got Tebow to look forward to...

Unfortunately SI is reporting that Denver is so hosed up that credible coaches like Cowher are not interested. Hope that is not the case and we get a decent coach who can help get the AFC W get back on track. That is, Denver back on top with San Diego on the bottom.

;)

Tarl - Yes I did indeed raise a toast (well an imaginary one at any rate) to the firing of McDumbass.. :D Now I hope that we get a coach that can at least give your Chargers a competitive game... that last Monday Night game, which I'm sure you enjoyed, was...blech!! Fortunately I had a rehearsal that night so I missed most of it... the game was tied 7-7 when I arrived at practice and by the time I got out it was 37-7!! :| By they way, what the hell happened with your Chargers getting beat down by the Raiders??? It really is a topsy-turvy year for the AFC West with KC and Oak ascending and SD and DEN at the bottom.

Gravity- Excellent questions!! Obviously the Spygate II didn't pay off as we still lost to the 49ers!! lol!!

Eric- Hey good to see you back here! Been a while... Yes let's do drink a toast to better days ahead for Denver...of course now I'm reading that with Josh McDaniels out..who knows what's going to become of Tim Tebow... Whether we get a new head coach that believes in him is something of great interest...if not, there are teams out there that really could use his services and not have him just be a part time, goal-line and trick play QB...hmm.. Buffalo, Detroit (who knows if Matthew Stafford can stay healty), or hmm..Cincinatti?? Carson Palmer is not getting the job done there...ahh well time will tell.

Its all set-The Pittsburgh Steelers vs The Green Bay Packers. Here's how I see the matchups:

Packers O-Line vs Steelers D-Line
Edge: Packers

GB has a solid O-line and has been able to open up some gaps in the run game and protects QB Aaron Rodgers. While the Steelers D-Line is good, it's their linebackers that drive this defense.

Packers Backs vs Steelers Linebackers
Edge: Steelers

Pittsburgh has best linebacker corps in the NFL. Its tough to block these guys, who have former defensive MVP James Harrison. The Packers RB's have a chance to get some plays and protect Rodgers, but IMO this is the difference in the game.

Packers WR's vs Steelers DB's
Edge: Packers

The Packers WR's have been largely unchecked this post season. Weather sloweed them down last week, and the Jets WR's made some plays against the Steelers DB's. While Troy Palamoulo is healthy (I know I might misspell his name I am sorry for that) this is my closest call, it was nearly a push.

Steelers O-Line vs Packers D-Line
Edge: Push

If Pouncy were healthy, this edge is the Steelers. Since he's out, I have to go with a push. The Pack's line has played better, but expect the Steeers to push them around.

Steelers Backs vs Packers Linebackers
Edge: Steelers

The Steelers run the ball very well. The Packers LB's play with reckless abandon. But the Steelers have an edge-they can block very well. Plus they can get open in the flat and spread out the LB's.

Steelers WR's vs Packers DB's
Edge: Steelers

The Steelers have speed, and the Packers DB's are the core of this defense. This matchup will also be a factor in the outcome. Hines Ward and Mike Wallace will make Charles Woodson and Sam Shields will struggle to match up.

Ben Roethlisberger vs Aaron Rodgers
Edge: Ben

Big Ben has been here before and despite the fact he will get hammered on media day for thinking with his 'Little Ben' he has the escapability that drives DC's nuts. Aaron Rodgers hasn't had a high profile game like this in his career-college included.

Steeers X Factor-TE Heath Miller

Packers X Factor-FB John Kuhn

I think the Packers match up very, very well against Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh can stop the run very well, but luckily for Green Bay, they don't really run the ball anyway. If the New York Jets can have the success they did in the passing game last week, then the Packers should dominate the air against Pittsburgh. If the Jets even had anything resembling a clue when they came out of the tunnel in the first half, they would have ended up with well over 300 yards passing against the vaunted Pittsburgh defense. If the Jets and their rather pathetic offense (and run-first offense at that) can manage that kind of success, Aaron Rodgers could end up challenging Kurt Warner's Super Bowl passing records in this one.

The fact of the matter is that the Steelers haven't played particularly well in the postseason, and haven't run into a team that is firing on all cylinders like the Packers are. The Ravens basically gave the Steelers the divisional round game with that hail mary on 3rd and 19 (and would have won the game if it wasn't for an absolutely bogus holding call on the punt return TD that got called back), and the Jets are, well, the Jets. If someone offered me the chance to be able to coast through the postseason the way the Steelers have gotten to, without having to face any of the division winners, not having to face either Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, and getting to play two teams in the Ravens and Jets that, in all honesty, aren't that good, then I'd sign up for that every time.

The Packers, meanwhile, have taken down the top three seeds in the NFC, whereas all Pittsburgh had to do was eliminate the two AFC wild card teams.

I'd like the Steelers to win it but in all honesty I think this is gonna be the Packers'. That said, I don't think there's going to be a particularly large gulf in the final score. Will be an interesting day certainly. Best friend is a lifelong Packers fan so whichever way this ends I'm not going to hear the end of it for a while.

Looking back at my predictions at the beginning of the season, I at least got the Super Bowl winner right during the preseason for probably the first time ever. Had them beating the wrong opponent (I had them defeating Baltimore rather than Pittsburgh), but I'll take the correct prediction anyway with it being the only bright spot on what was otherwise a rather subpar NFL season.

With that said, that was quite possibly the worst planned Super Bowl I've ever seen. Between the 400 people who had tickets not getting into the game because they didn't have enough seats for them, to the playing surface looking terrible, to the awful officiating, to what will be remembered as one of the worst performances of the National Anthem I've ever heard, to one of the worst half-time shows ever, and on top of all that a game that wasn't nearly as good as the 31-25 score would have indicated (the game would have been a blowout in Green Bay's favor if their receivers had done the job they're paid to do and catch the football), this was the most anticlimactic end to an NFL season I can remember in a long time. And to think, this could be the last NFL game we see until September 2012 (or maybe even longer), and that makes it even more of a shame. One thing is for certain out of this game, however: Cowboys Stadium should not be allowed to host another Super Bowl for a long, long time.

I'm gonna take up for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys Stadium administration. Some of those problems have nothing to do with the building authority, and everything to do with the NFL. As much as I like Goodell, it is his policy of rewarding cities with Superbowls after having built a new stadium that has caused part of this problem, and it is causing my Falcon's owner, Arthur Blank, to attempt to build a new stadium to replace the new domed stadium we just built in 1992 (incidentally, Jon Bon Jovi is trying to buy 15% of the team). As a result, the Superbowls have been going to places that have no business hosting them (Detroit, Jacksonville, Indianapolis, Dallas, New York). Fans don't want to have to sit in ice cold weather or brave blizzards to get to a Super Bowl or to view one. We want to party.

As much as I love Atlanta, I'd prefer if the Super Bowl was held in one of the following places EVERY YEAR: New Orleans, Tampa, Miami, San Diego.

My biggest dream would be for Roger Goodell to put his money where his mouth is and have the NFL build a permanent Super Bowl stadium in LAS VEGAS!!! Great weather in February...lots of places to have a party...do some sight seeing...legalized prostitution a few counties away...gambling...it's the ultimate party city for the ultimate party. As much as I like Atlanta and Dallas, we are convention cities, not party cities. The SUPERBOWL has morphed into a national holiday for the U.S. and we should not only have a consistent Super Bowl that reflects that party atmosphere, but we should also have the day after the Super Bowl recognized as a federal holiday and everybody gets the day off.

Most of the blame does fall on the NFL, but quite a bit on Jerry Jones as well. It was largely Jones who wanted to break the Super Bowl attendance record, something he would only have been able to do by installing those extra seats. That is something that should have been done far ahead of time rather than waiting until right up until the game. For all of the money that the NFL gouges out of its fans, the least they should be able to do is honor the fact that these people paid good money to go to the game and give them a seat inside the stadium to watch the game, which they paid for (and, for quite a few, they still end up losing money on the triple refund, especially after travel and other expenses are factored in, none of which would have been spent if they knew they'd be watching the game on a TV screen).

As for the Super Bowl at a permanent Super Bowl site in Vegas. No, for a few reasons. The first of which being that, even if we were in a much better economic climate, the idea of building a billion-plus dollar stadium that would be used for its intended purpose one day out of the year is just a colossal waste of money (to put it mildly). The Super Bowl should rotate around to different cities (including the northern cities such as New York, and I don't say that as a fan of the Jets because, in all honesty, I have more faith in Jerry Jones to pull off a quality Super Bowl, which he's largely proven he can't do, than I do in the Jets' ownership to put on a good Super Bowl). If the NFL decided it needed to pick a singular site to host all of the Super Bowls, that site should probably be Southern California, not Vegas. The game needs to be in a city that has an NFL team, not in a city that is basically one big party night in and night out 365 days a year. The Super Bowl needs to be a special event, which is something the game would lose if it were to be put in Vegas.

Well we have a lockout. Here's my take.

1) NFLPA-I blame you. You want 60% of the $8 billion in TV Revenue. NFL takes $1 billion, then the players get $4.8 billion, the owners get the rest. You then have the audacity to ask for more?! [censored] you! Quit bitching and back to talking. You are paid outrageous sums of money to play a kids game, a game I love so much I would play for free. You are so lucky to play this game. I understand wanting to take care of retired players, and getting better medical care. No objection there. But what happens when you take too big a piece of the pie? The owners have staff they need to pay, people who make your marketing and promo deals happen. You are taking food out of their mouths and their childrens mouths. You also hurt people who work at restaraunts, bars, and those who sell merchandise by the stadiums. They need to make money. Greedy Unions like you inflate ticket prices so [censored]ing High that the average middle class family cannot afford to attend 1 game! [censored] you, NFLPA.

2) Owners-I blame you. You pulled out of a deal, yeah a bad one, but you did plan this all along. WHile you can save your cut and do what you want with it, thats ok, but this lockout is all on you. [censored]ers. Negotiations should have begun soon thereafter. All this could have been avoided. I am pissed, just not as much as I am at the Players. But you are not blameless either. Pricks.

My solution:

-Split the 9 billion 55-45 to Players. Let players get 80% of merchdising sales from video games, and jersy sales.

-Owners promise access to team medical center for retired players. This means players who retire declare who they retired for, that means whichever team they played for longest is their team doctor for life.

-An 18 game schedule makes mathmatical sense. But not likely with a 53 man roster. Up it to 65, 60 active and you got the 18 game schedule.

-Rookie Salary Cap of $20 million. Contracts can be renogotiated after 3 years if they are leading the NFL in certain categories. Veteran Salary Cap would be $170 million per team, so Vets get more moolah.

Make this happen! I want Sunday football!

Not that this would ever happen, but what the fans who actually attend these games should do is boycott the first week of the season to send a message to the overpaid millionaires and billionaires who run this league. They overcharge for tickets, memorabilia, and every other facet of the NFL experience and then have the nerve to argue over who gets a slightly larger piece of a 9 billion dollar pie? It's just disgusting.

While they've been arguing over just how much money they'll be able to put in the bank, there have been people with real jobs who would have been financially devastated by the league not playing this year as that would have taken their income straight out of their pocket while millionaires and billionaires argued over who gets 49% and who gets 51% of 9 billion.

My thoughts exactly! Now instead of getting into the playoffs and losing, they won't even get there!
