Great work front office, take a Super Bowl contender and turn it into mediocre team at best by letting the Patriots, Texans, and Dolphins all get better around you while also not bringing back the players from last year so you could at least have a puncher's chance at the playoffs by having the same team you took to an AFC title game last season. Best bet for the Jets this year is 9-7 and sitting at home watching the playoffs with the rest of America come January.
This team is never going to win a Super Bowl. They're just one endless tease, year after year with no results.

I admit this is a fun time. Pretty cool to see all the signings. So please excuse me, I need to borrow $ from Peyton Manning...

Just hope Plax is in shape & can still catch passes & stretch the field tdalton. I believe Jets have a shot at playoffs-maybe not advancing like they have the last 2 years but still will have a good team.

The defensive secondary might end up being a bit better than last year, namely because Cromartie will now be in his second year in the system. If Rex Ryan could just get him to perform the "bump" portion of "bump and run" coverage, Cromartie could be an elite CB in the league, but whether or not that happens remains to be seen. The re-acquisition of Donald Strickland, who was on the team back in 2009 when they led the league in defense, is a great move, as was the re-signing of Eric Smith to start opposite of Jim Leonhard at safety.
The problem is the offense. Not bringing back Braylon Edwards was a mistake, regardless of how immature he can be at times. If it's a financial concern there, that's one thing, but I don't think you can go out and court Nnamdi Asomugha, who is now the highest paid CB, in terms of yearly average salary, in the NFL and then turn around and say that another, lesser player, is not affordable. Right now, the only proven WR on the team is Santonio Holmes, but you need more than that. Plaxico is a gamble at best, as nobody knows what they're going to get with him. Cotchery is on the PUP list and may be either cut or traded, if one believes the rumors. That leaves a couple of rookies who may or may not be ready for prime time. For an offense that is helmed by the incompetent Brian Schottenheimer, Mike Tannenbaum needed to stockpile the offense with as much talent as possible to try to overcome that incompetence at the playcalling position, and that has not been the case. I struggle to think of how an offense that featured LaDainian Tomlinson, Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes, Jericho Cotchery, etc. could struggle to put up points, and the responsibility for that has to come down to the playcalling. A prime example of that would be the slant route that was called at the goal line in the AFC championship game that directly cost the Jets a trip to the Super Bowl. Hopefully the addition of Tom Moore to the staff as a consultant with help the playcalling at least climb the ladder towards being respectable, or even mediocre, but the front office really needed to, and ultimately failed, to put enough talent around Mark Sanchez to ensure his continued development.

Re: Broncos QB situation-start Orton. Tebow still needs to learn.

Agree 100% Dove! Tebow has always been a winner & while raw in some aspects (defensive knowledge, mechanics) he can overcome them.

Been a while since I last posted here...
Good to see you back, Dove. I don't know what to think of Tebow. He doesn't look like he is reading coverage in the slightest. Looks like he is thinking about running before he even runs through any progressions. He probably needs an incredible QB coach to make it in the NFL, but he's got IT when it comes to leadership and energy. I can see that the entire team looks like they are running in a higher gear when he is taking the snaps. His force of personality was on display and was impressive in the comeback against San Diego. I say give him a chance as this season is looking like a write off anyway. GO BRONCOS

Indeed Eric... Yeah, the lack of an off-season and mini-camps due to the stupid lockout really hurt Tebow's development this year..However, with him now getting some playing time, hopefully that will be a building block which he can take into this coming off season and develop some more. It's fortunate that his first game will be against a VERY bad Dolphins team..but then after that it's no walk in the park by any means.. Lions, Raiders part II, Chiefs (who seem to be on a bit of a surge), Jets, Chargers part II, Vikings, Bears, Patriots, Bills and finishing up against the Chiefs again.. Seriously..this seems like a VERY unfair schedule for a team that was 4-12 last year!

my bolts ARE 4-1 INTO THE BYE WEEK. No slow starts this year. but they have looked rather mediocre so far.
Here's a tidbit, for what it's worth, about what Rex Ryan thinks of the Bolts. So, can Norv Turner, the winningest coach in the league, skipper the Chargers to a Lombardi? Discuss amongst yourselves NFL fans...

Rex Ryan wouldn't be able to win a Super Bowl if someone handed him the AFC Pro Bowl team and let him coach that over the coarse of the regular season. I'd actually welcome Norv Turner as the coach of the Jets. He'd at least get Mark Sanchez to at least look as though he's worthy of quarterbacking a Pop Warner little league team.
He's spent more time talking about how the Jets are going to win the Super Bowl rather than preparing them for it, and couldn't see what was blatantly obvious in that Braylon Edwards was far more important to this team than the vastly overrated Santonio Holmes, who is earning 55 million for doing absolutely nothing but throwing his own teammates under the bus. Yet Rex Ryan thought Holmes was worthy of a captain position on the team.
In short, the Jets are a joke, and one that really isn't funny anymore.

I was worried about how the Broncos trading Brandon Lloyd to the Rams for ONLY a conditional 6th/5th round pick was going to pay off down the road...until I saw the head-scratching move by the Raiders trading TWO potential 1st round picks to the Bengals for Carson Palmer...a guy who has not taken a single snap since the end of last year...what happens if he gets injured?? A HUGE risk of a move on the Raiders part.. ahh well, I can't be worried about that... Need to focus on Tebow Time this week against the pathetic Dolphins!
Yup. Probably the biggest game of the year due to Tebow Time finally kicking off. Even though it's just the Fish, all eyes will be on Timmy (can I get a big South Park "Timmeeeeey!") as he helms the Bronco comeback to a 12-4 record. I am in Australia this weekend but I will find a pub in Sydney where I can catch the game. GO BRONCOS

45-10...45 to fU%&ING 10..At home we get embarrassed at the hands of the Lions..hey, I give Detroit all the credit for becoming such an impressive team..Now, that being said, I have to say that today I learned that Tim Tebow is the MOST overrated quarterback since..well pick one..Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, Vincent Young, Matt Leinart, JaMarcus Russell etc..
From the Miracle in Miami to the Disaster in Denver in one week flat. The season is a bust so might as well start a different QB every week and see if any of them are worth keeping for next season. Scary thing is that not only did TT play poorly but the whole team looked pretty bad. Hey, at least we get to see some of the excellent players McD sent packing mocking the Mile High salute in our own endzones...

-Go to the older orange & blue colors pre 1997.
-Make helmets orange & have Broncos written in script
-Make jerseys blue; wear white pants with blue & orange stripes.
-Hire Urban Meyer as an offensive consultant.
-Piss off the O-Line somehow. Challenge their manhood or something. Practice in pink jersies or something.
