Biggest news so far.. Tom Brady's knee injury that will most likely keep him out the rest of the year (ouch!!) This does not bode well for New England at all, though Matt Cassell proved that he is a capable back up, and it looks like the Pats will be bringing in Chris Simms for a work-out.
Thank you Carolina Panthers for the last second win over The Chargers (ouch!! Sorry Tarl!!)
Congrats to Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons for the HUGE win over the Lions..
The St. Louis Rams and Cincinnati Bengals and Seattle Seahawks looked just AWFUL!!
Johnboy's Eagles were awesome..looks like Donovan McNabb is on FIRE!!
Brett Favre and The Jets..wow!! they could now be the team to beat in the AFC EAST since Brady is out for New England.
Great start for Qwerty's Buffalo Bills..
Chicago's defense just stuffed Manning and the Colts last night.. Kyle Orton looked ok, nothing great but looks like the Bears made the right choice going with him instead of Rex Grossman.
My Broncos go at it tonight against the Oakland Raiders and the Aaron Rodgers era begins in Green Bay against the Vikings.
Boy this is going to be an interesting year.. Good luck to all the CBN'ers teams! Thoughts or comments on how you think your team will do this season?

Count the Colts out for their annual playoff exit, i swear the team is the football version of the 1990's Atlanta Braves...
I'm going out with a limb here and picking the Steelers as a dark-horse to the play the chargers in the afc championship..

WOW!! What an absolutely thrilling game yesterday as my Broncos came from behind and beat the San Diego Chargers 39-38.. Ok I'll admit that Ed Hochuli blew that fumble call and will admit, for the benefit of my friend Tarl_Cabot, whos been strangely silent here lately, that San Diego has a legitimate gripe about getting robbed. However, Jay Cutler and Brandon Marshall had a HELLUVA game and I feel somewhat vindicated for the embarassing schlackings San Diego gave Denver last season.. "Revenge is a dish best served cold!! "
Jay Butter Fingers Cutler must haver friends in high places...incredibly bad call.
Congrats anyway...still, I see the Bolts rallying...

That aside, what an incredibly exciting game.

This is a crazy, crazy game. What on Earth was Jackson doing? He wasn't even close!
Jeez.. that play reminded me of the '94 game between Dallas and Buffalo where Leon Lett was running in for a touchdown but holding the ball out in front of him.. Don Beebe of the Bills comes in out of nowhere and strips Lett of the ball before he crossed the goalline!!

What can I say? We deserved to be slaughtered against the Ravens and Titans given how poorly we played...how can we expect to win a game just because we actually play rather well?
Oh well...until we lose our 7th game, I'm going to hold out hope! And maybe if the AFC is terrible, an 8th loss can be tolerable.

I imagine that the next time Derek Anderson throws an INT, Browns fans will start singing " Come on without...Come on within.. You've not seen nothing like the Mighty Quinn!! "

St. Louis fired coach Scott Linehan yesterday after a dreadful tenure with the team.. Defensive coordinator and former Saints coach, Jim Haslett will be the interim coach.
and today, the Oakland Raiders have FINALLY fired Lane Kiffin. No word yet on who'll be the interim coach.

When will my Bengals finally win? It sure feels like 2002 to me. Is 2-14 asking too much?
Do they play San Diego this year?

Pacman screwed up again!
They gave up all those draft picks for a so-so WR.
Tony Romo has a broken finger & will miss 4 weeks.
Punter Mat McBriar sustained a season-ending fracture in his kicking foot.

Oh and Tarl, I didn't give you congrats for San Diego knocking off the Patriots the other day... Not that I'm ready to conceed the AFC West to you just yet, but if my Broncos keep on fumbling and turning the ball over, like they did against Jacksonville the other day, we are doomed!!

It seems like just yesterday we were saying "Thanks, but no thanks" to Rudi and letting him go to Detroit (where his bags were stolen by future Bengal Tatum Bell). It's a pretty depressing mood once again here in the Queen City. From my office building I look to my left and see Great American Ball Park and Paul Brown Stadium to the right...other than the Bengals 11-5 season in 2005, we haven't seen anything resembling a "great" team since 1990...Oh man..RichmondSpy, I feel bad about your Bengals.. How bad is it when your are so desperate you have to not only resign WR Chris Henry, but also after losing Rudi Johnson, you bring in former troubled Bears RB Cedric Benson.. I do hope things get better in Cincy soon!
Feel sorry for us!!!!
