Nice win Tarl! :D :D Technically I should have been wanting the Colts to win, so that there would be a three way tie for 1st place in the AFC West, but since I absoultly hate the Colts and love to see the rare loss for them, I was a San Diego fan last night!! Quite an exciting game!!

Broncos got a HUGE win, knocking off the Chiefs AT Arrowhead, where we haven't won since 2002, 27-11.. I'm impressed, especially since we have so many players out with injuries. Our rookie running back, Selvin Young, who filled in for Travis Henry, looked great!! I hope this means a turn of fortune for our season!! :D

Was Travis henry hurt or suspended? Or perhaps too busy fathering his 234th child ? :P

As Parcels said the other night your Broncos make the RB position look so disposable...

What a bizzare ending to the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens (New Browns vs Old Browns) game yesterday!! I saw the replay many times of Phil Dawson's field goal and to me it was pretty clear to me that after the ball hit the left upright, it clearly went over the crossbar before bouncing off the support beam, to come back into the field of play. How hillarious was this!! LOL The field goal was good to tie the game and send it into overtime, then Derek Anderson led the Browns down field for Dawson to kick the winning field goal! :P

By the way, I'm going to the Monday Night game tonight at Invesco Field in Denver to cheer my Broncos on as they square off against Vince Young and the Tennessee Titans.. Should be fun!! :D :D

Even more exciting if you are a Dolphins fan.

Which I am.

I don't think I am going to survive a year in which Miami goes 0-16 and NE goes 19-0.
It just might happen.

Redskins safety Sean Taylor has died!! This is just so sad and tragic!! :D My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, teammates and the Redskins organization and fans. Its just awfull when someone's life is taken in such a sensless and violent manner. My Broncos unfortunately went throught the same thing when Darrent Williams was shot and killed in a drive by shooting outside a Denver nightclub last january, and then we also lost running back Damien Nash who passed away from a heart ailment about a month afterwords. Again, my condolences to the Taylor family.. :P

Yeah, that really sucks. Taylor was drafted one slot after Philip Rivers and it's so sad to see a guy with so much good fortune die senselessly...alot of people like to give pro athletes a hard time for owning guns but they are high value targets, especially in thier home towns and they do need to protect themselves(2 chicago bulls were recently robbed at gun pint in thier homes in Chicago).Condolences to the family and team. :D

We just had a Super Bowl champion apply for the position of Security Director at my mall. (Former Steelers linebacker Ron Stanley. He was re-signed to the practice squad just prior to Super Bowl XL, so he didn't play, but he still got to go, and was part of the team when they won.)

Well, he was only on the practice squad, and he's not currently signed with anybody, so he needs a job. But I'll echo the "what was he thinking," for a different reason. His resume said he had a year of maintenance/groundskeeping experience (which would be great if he was applying for my department), but apparently no security experience. Not a problem if you want to be a security guard, but when you're applying for Security Director, you really should have some type of security/law enforcement experience under your belt. Our outgoing director is a former police officer.

One more win for the Pats. If they're going to be beaten, it will be in the post season. Last three games are against the Jets, Dolphins and Giants.

I can't believe Jason Hanson missed. Hanson's one of the best kickers in the NFL, and he missed a 35-yarder. How does that happen?

Well my Broncos had a very satisfying drubbing of the Kansas City Chiefs 41-7 at Invesco Field yesterday!!! WOO HOO.. We FINALLY had all three phases of our game clicking! Offense, Defense and Special Teams all were great!! Why the hell haven't we been like this the past 12 weeks or so? LOL.. Its great to have a game like this especially after our embarassing loss to the freakin Oakland Raiders last week! Sheesh!! Jay Cutler was on FIRE yesterday.. over 200 yards passing, 4 TDS and ZERO INT's.

Now if we could only pull out a similar performance in San Diego on Christmas Eve against the Chargers.. Tarl, I still have NOT forgotten the 44-3 schlacking you guys put on us in Denver. Now its time to return the favor! LOL :D

Bobby Petrino has resigned as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons and has accepted the head coaching job at Arkansas.. I'm really not that shocked, well possibly shocked a little at how fast he accepted the Arkansas job!! I guess after having a 3-10 season in which you see your star QB in Mike Vick go to jail for dogfighting, plus failing with Byron Leftwich and Joey Harrington, I don't blame Petrino for wanting to get the hell outta Atlanta as soon as possible!! LOL

So, who do you think will be the next head coach in the NFL to get the ax or resign?

Here are my thoughts..

Brian Billick (Baltimore) I think its a safe bet that he'll be fired at the end of the season.

John Fox (Carolina) Since losing to the Patriots in Super Bowl 38, The Panthers have been going downhill.. its time to bring in some new faces on the coaching staff.

Marvin Lewis (Cincinatti): The sorry Bengals have reverted to the old ways of the Bungles. I don't necessarily think Marvin will be fired, but I do think he's fed up enough to resign.

Herman Edwards (Kansas City).. Not sure yet if he'll quit or be fired, but lately KC has been an awful team. Herm may have been better off staying with the NY Jets.

Speaking of the Jets... I think that Eric Mangini is not living up to his nickname Mangenius!! I wouldn't be at all surprised if the Jets fire him.

and finally.... Cam Cameron (Miami).. what else is there to say.. The Dolphins are 0-13.. the team has mutanied against Cameron..They don't have a QB ect.. If he isn't fired, he should follow Bobby Petrino's example and resign...

Petrino was a total bust and the Falcons are better off without him. I did feel bad for him after the Schaub trade/Vick disaster but he's a douche bag for quiting before the season is over. :D

You're right Tarl.. Petrino is a douche for quitting on the team before the season is over. Based on some of the comments I've heard from the players AND Arthur Blank, Petrino is a coward and betrayed the organization. Well the Falcons can get a fresh start next year.

I don't see the Jets firing Mangini after this season. I wasn't a fan of his hiring as the coach, but he did get us the playoffs last year, and he does have a very bad team this year in terms of a lack of quality players and depth at certain positions. I think that he needs to bring in a good, young QB in free agency (hopefully someone like Derek Anderson, who I think is a restricted free agent in the offseason). A running back is also going to be needed in the offseason, as is another WR. I think that the best bet for the Jets in the offseason would be to rebuild the O-line through the draft, and then go after some good skill players through trades and free agency. Jonathan Vilma does not appear to be a good fit for the 3-4 defense Mangini is running, so potentially trading him to another team could be a good idea for both Vilma and the Jets. Perhaps trading him along with some draft picks and perhaps other players, for a top-notch receiver might be the way to go (the one I'd like to see is a package including Vilma to Cincinnati for Chad Johnson).

I've been away from here since I have been so busy w/ College Football (LSU vs Ohio St Jan 7, 2008 BCS National Title Game!), so I'll chip in my 2 cents on what has gone on lately.

-Billick got the dreaded vote of confidence, but should return, with 2008 as a make or break year. With all the injuries Baltimore has had, those don't go to the play calling. But fire that idiot coach who called time out after stuffing the Pats on 4th down. Dee Duh Dee!

-Fox is out at Carolina-and Bill Cowher may be in. He did build a large home in the N. Carolina area, and would be a great fit. Atlanta is going to take look at him as well.

-Mangini is not out, but it is clear the Jets never recovered from 'Spy Gate'.

-Nick Saban is still a bigger douche then Bobby Petrino.

-Oh, and the Pats and the Boys are gearing up for a rematch in the SB!

I'm not sure that it's an issue of not recovering from "Spy Gate" (although I'm sure it was a factor to some degree), but more of a factor of the team not really being very talented. The O-line is not very good, and the defense was awful at the beginning of the year, although they are playing much better now. The Jets are a few players away from being contenders again, and I think that bolstering the defense and offensive lines through the draft and addressing some of the skill positions through free agency and trades, and this team could be in contention again next year for a wild card spot in the playoffs. The main need now is, IMO, a quarterback, and if they can get a good QB somewhere along the line, then things could be looking up for the next year. But, Mangini should be given at least the next two years to get this thing turned around before there should be talks about moving on to the next coach.
