Next weekend.....

Kansas City or Colts?
Dallas or Seattle?

NY Jets or NE Patriots?
NY Giants of Philadelphia?

Colts over Chiefs: Payton's arm, and his career, are on the line.
Seattle over Dallas: Both at 9-7, they're playing in Seattle.
Pats over Jets: Tom Brady.
Philly over Giants: The Eagles are firing on all 8.

But in the end Go Chargers!

I just knew you'd get that one in, kiddo. :cooltongue:

I live in Mn, and I don't think the Vikings have a snowball's chance in hell. It is very possible for the Patriots to get into the Superbowl though. We will find out. Since Moss left, the Vikings have had little publicity. They used to report on what boat party they had, or what traffic cop one of the players ran over, but not anymore...

Something to add: The Bears might also stand a chance of making it to the playoffs

Yes indeed. When the spotlight goes, it really goes off. After Elway left Denver (Brister/Greasy), things really got quiet as far as media attention goes. But in Minnesota's case, that might not be such a bad thang. :cooltongue:

Okay.. I predict Kansas City to beat the Colts, the Seattle Seahawks to beat Dallas, the Eagles to beat the Giants and the NE Patriots to beat the Jets (though I'm being cautious about that one!!)

Man!! I miss Shannon Sharpe. A class act all the way. WHen he was playing, the media was just waiting for his mouth to get him into trouble. But he was smarter than that. :D

Thanks for this link, Dove. Absolutely hillarius!! :cooltongue:

That Shannon Sharpe clip was hysterical!

Something else about LA football-This is the first time ever the Saints are in the playoffs, and LSU is in the Sugar Bowl in the same football season. They have been in the same calendar year, which was 1987, the first year the Saints had ever been to the playoffs.

Congrats hcmv for LSU winning the Sugar Bowl over Notre Dame last night.. now can your New Orleans Saints follow up with a trip to Miami in Feb??

Yeah bill, I miss Sharpe as well, but I am SO glad that we get to see him as a commentator on the CBS pre-game show (way better than the FOX one, though I do love the Frank Caliendo segements!!)

Nice about LT being the MVP Tarl... He certainly deserves it!!

If the Saints do go to the Super Bowl, 2 things will happen:

1) Hell will have frozen over
2) Non stop party in New Orleans-will run all the way through Mardi Gras

As for the Sugar Bowl-see my post from last night at the end of the game on the Road to Tempe

My English teacher said that if the Chiefs beat the Colts, we won't have a test over Beowulf, the book were reading. If the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, it would be a miracle, we won't have an English final. :cooltongue:

Art Schell canned. I thought he should never have been hired. That first game on MNF was about as piss poor a team as I've ever seen(almost as bad as my 2000 Chargers :cooltongue: ). Their O line can't block women. I wouldn't wish the Raiders on anyone. Good luck next to be fired guy.

Bill Cowher resigns after coaching the Steelers for the last 15 years. I doubt we will see a coach stay that long at one franchise ever again.

The slant I got from ESPN on Cower was that he is still young enough, he could take an extended 'vacation' only to return once he is recuperated.

The Broncos Shanahan has just completed his 11th year there. I no longer live in Denver, but I'd reckon the job is his as long as he wants it.

Shame about Cowher stepping down, but I can guarantee that after a year or so away from the game, he'll be back as a head coach, either in the NFL or College ranks somewhere.

I'm not totaly shocked by Art Shell's (second!!)firing from the Oakland Raiders.. That team needs a total makeover, starting from the head down.. Al Davis should sell the franchise, for he is not in good health and I think can no longer be a successful owner.

As for Nick Saban going to Alabama, also not a total surprise to me.. he's definitely more cut out for the college ranks.

Saints coach Sean Payton named coach of the year, followed by Eric Mangini, marty Schottenheimer, and Jeff Fischer. So not one vote for Andy Reid?

Despite poor play, it looks like the Colts should beat the Chiefs. It has really been an ugly game.

Man, Kansas City looked PATHETIC!!! What was it, only like 40 something yards for Larry Johnson?? KC didn't get a single first down untill mid-third quarter?? They were a team that was NOT ready to play (well except Ty Law with his two of three pics of Peyton Manning!!)

As for tonights game, I'm pulling for Seattle to win!! :cooltongue:

Kansas City's stint in the playoffs was shortlived anyway so I wasn't expecting much from them to begin with.

It appears to be Baltimore's to lose...

Well, THAT was certainly an exciting finish. Dallas 20, Seattle 21. Poor Romo.

Exciting finish indeed, bill!! :cooltongue: I hope Tony Romo won't be labled as the next Scott Norwood (the kicker who missed on a field goal that would have won a Super Bowl for the Bills in '91). Romo is a good kid and has a bright future as the QB for Cowboys.

Yes, Romo will get over it I'm sure. He was sure hurting though.

Strange how the missed kick was so similar to our Denver-Cincinnati game, eh?

Let's see Carrie Underwood kiss Tony Romo now! She's like the kiss of death or something. Ever since they showed them on TV, he has just folded!

Defenses have figured Tony Romo out...and maybe it could be inexperience. And as far as Parcells is concerned, when was the last time that he won a Super Bowl without Bill Belichek to back him up? Nada.

Parcells is 0-2 with the Cowboys in playoff games and I'm almost sure that he'll step down sometime in the off season. He's the Larry Brown of football...
