I was very much looking forward to seeing how Sharpe got on after 10 years, but it seemed at times like being reacquainted with an old friend I've lost contact with and we both seem to have changed. I noticed bean's acting limitation here; I always made allowances for him in earlier episodes given his social background etc., but here he just seems constantly numb. He doesn't even make use of the french he must have learned during his time in retirement in France. And the mistakes he constantly makes- why in hell does he actually give his real name when acting as a spy? My girlfriend kept rolling her eyes at the constant changes in motive and plot twists that kept the story going. And the idea of meeting Harper and the others in the span of a day in a country the size of India right at the beginning tested my patience from the start. To have a motley of soldiers (no tracking shot to show how few extras are actually being used) carrying the same East Indian Co. flag as a battle flag as opposed to what by then amounted to a Tesco banner was something else that didn't seem right to me. At 140 minutes, it dragged on. How Sharpe after one beating after another managed to shrug it off when my back puts me out is another stretch of believability.

I can't remenber what was the last DVD I bought since I'm now renting them, but I think it was Harry Potter and The Prizoner Of Azcaban
If you live in a large enough city most movies can be checked out for FREE at the local public library (including new movies).

American Gangster - 3-Disc Collector's Edition
Lordy, Ridley Scott really knows how to do his DVDs. I'm really anxious to see the extended version of the film.

Couldn't agree more. I wasn't expecting the 2-disc and 3-disc released right along side eachother--but it's definitely makes the fans happy.

I found the extended version to be inferior to the theatrical cut. A lot of unneeded material, and an awful ending.Billy Connolly: Live in New York

No on the deleted scenes. The big thing you get is The Making of Jaws documentary has been restored to it's full length of 122 minutes from the 60 minute edited version that was on the last DVD. This is the same version that was on the LaserDisc release so it isn't new. The video transfer is the same as the last DVD.Jaws - 30th Anniversary Edition

I agree to a certain extent; the ending wasn't as good as the theatrical, but I didn't mind some of the extra scenes. Still, given that it wasn't as drastically different as most of Scott's other extended cuts of his films, I think I would go with the theatrical version if I were to watch it again.I found the extended version to be inferior to the theatrical cut.
