It's a 3-DVD set of a 12 episode TV series, but I've never heard of it before. It was in the sale bin at my local HMV store and it looked interesting, so I snapped it up.
Perhaps whoever has seen it could enlighten me as to whether it was any good.

Caught this at the flicks and was tremendously impressed and a 2nd viewing in no way diminished that opinion.
Scorcesse his best since Casino, having not seen Infernal Affairs I can't comment on which is better. (I plan to catch it at some point with it's sequel & prequel)
Nicholson is usual charming self with a hint of danger but dosn't offer anything new, despite being extremely watchable this film belongs to Dicaprio & Damon, they are both exceptional and probably give both their best performances of their careers.
An often weakness in Scorcesse's films are 3 dimensional female characters but Departed offers a probable first in Vera Fermega as the woman caught between the 2 leads and is simply brilliant.
Mark Wahlberg has never been better and steals all his scenes and definetly deserves the Oscar Nom. Martin Sheen, Alec Baldwin & Ray Winstone offer great support as well.
If you didn't catch this on the big screen do yourself a favour and get a copy, some people have gripes about the running time and plot but I for one was delighted and find these crticism's small and get in no way in front of a great thriller.

I concur. "I've seen everything. I've seen it all."EXTRAS - Season One. The Patrick Stewart episode is worth the price of the whole set.
In addition to that, I've also bought...
-The Sting Legacy Series
-The Silence of the Lambs Collector's Edition
-Eddie Murphy Delirious
-The Departed 2-Disc Special Edition ("Steelbook" version)

The Silence of the Lambs Collector's Edition
How is that one, 00O? Any good extras included?

Basically, I'm on a mission to get Chrono Crusade finished so I can work on just Gundam SEED and its second series, Gundam SEED Destiny, as well as look into starting a new series and possibly picking up some older OVAs or movies.

Enjoy. There are some pretty good special features on that one.

Most of the extras are ported over from the previous 2-disc edition, but there're a couple of new (actually rather interesting) retrospective features that have recent interviews with Demme and Foster. Not sure if you're particular about A/V standards, but the picture and sound quality has been substantially improved for this version. From what I've read on the boards, you seem to be a fan of this film, so I don't see the harm in picking this one up for $20, although I'd keep the Criterion one for the commentary and collector purposes. Just for reference, though...comparison between Criterion, Special Edition, and Collector's Edition. The Silence of the Lambs Collector's Edition

I'm a Chorno Crusade and Gundam Seed fan too Icarus! But if you loved Seed, then you're doing to find Gundam Seed Destiny even better. Whose your favorite character there? I've always found Athrun Zala a heart-throb and as far as the girls go, Lunamaria is just amazing once you get to GSD.I'm still on a huge anime bender - Chrono Crusade volume six and Mobile Suit Gundam SEED volume five.

I just got Casino Royale on DVD.
Turns out that Drax went to Singapore two days ago and I asked him to get it for me... he must have been in a good mood too cuz I got the 2-Disc Special Edition. I can't wait for school to end so that I can watch it tonight! Will report to Vallance, M, and the Admiral alike on what the Region 3 version is like!
