They generally look quite alike, especially the high forehead. Julian McMahon looks like what Kerr Smith will evolve into when he's older.

I don't know, I personally don't see too much of a resemblence between the two. (Perhaps later on, as you say, more so.)

Interesting how the news kind of died down again in regards to this "contender".

Well not just from the photo, but more so when you see either on film.

If "Casino Royale" becomes everything we hope for in a Bond film, ie- a return to a gritty, FRWL-style espionage thriller with a modern twist a la "The Bourne Identity" , we may end up with one of the best Bond films ever made. If they cast Julian McMahon as Bond, we will end up with this generation's OHMSS. Basically, an excellent Bond movie with a mis-cast leading man.
There. I said it.
Just my 2c.

For McMahon to be Bond his contract for Nip/Tuck must be up for renewal or the show is getting cancelled. Isn't the show quite popular though.

View Post

Nip/Tuck could be the Remington Steele of today!

er, in the sense that a contract holds back a 'potential' Bond...otherwise they are nothing alike of course...

Julian McMahon on 007,
I remember reading atleast a month ago that he was very big on trying to get 007, but couldn't because of his committments to Nip/Tuck. I think it may have even been his mother who made comments about this. However, if this new "interview" or whatever is legit, then I suppose they'd be willing to schedule around him.
Woj

Woj,
From what I've heard, McMahon isn't as big a chance for the role as what we're being led to believe he is. Insiders tell me the 'can't do it because of scheduling' line was a cover-up for an EON response of 'We're not interested'. Still, you never know, persistence gets you everywhere. For instance, I was 11-years-old, tried to jump as high as I could to peep in the girls locker room, but couldn't quite get that far, then, whammo, I'm up...in more ways than one

Frankly i love OHMSS so let see what will happen . Since the Oscars are over and Clive Owens did not win , and has decided to cast his lot with the Wolfgang Petersen film . McMahon and Craig now become real serious contenders .

I still think McMahon would be good for the role. It all depends on his TV and movie commitments though.

I've said it before that McMahon is my choice to be 007 if Gerard Butler doesn't get, and from what I can tell, Butler's no where in the running. McMahon in Nip/Tuck can be suave, sophisticated and charming one minute, the next he can be a right ruthless bastard, and moment after that he's got you feeling sorry for him. He looks good in a tux, works well with the ladies and can throw a decent quip. And as far as I know, he hasn't signed up for a new season on Nip/Tuck yet, which if you saw the cliffhanger from last season, allows the producers to let him go.

See - someone else thinks so too. And that photo probably demonstrates it better than the one I picked. But seeing them on screen is where you can see the greatest resemblance between the two, since Kerr Smith might not have his McMahon look on in some photos.

Well AICN is reporting that Bond is being decided between Julian McMahon and Daniel Craig right now. This of course is close to what a couple of stories said a few weeks back. Hopefully this is false--neither of them does anything for me. And remember AICN was the one who said Eric Bana was all set to be Bond way back when.

Between these two candidates i'd have to pick Daniel Craig over Julian McMahon. McMahon just comes off flat and uninteresting to me. I don't know much about Craig BUT do remember him vaguely in Tomb Raider as being charismatic and forceful. I would have to see more of him and watch TR again to see if he has that Bondian quality--with McMahon I already know he doesn't.

Whew! I agree. Dropping Brosnan and using either Craig (who looks psychotic) or McMahon (who's head looks like he needs his hats custom made) just absolutely boggles the mind.

Maybe my words of late "are EON losing their credibility" are ringing true?.

If we're gonna be offered this tripe, then I beg for Brosnan to make a return. :)

I could definitely think of many better choices. Looking for some pictures of Daniel Craig and a few I found make it look he has a rather weatherbeaten face. Don't know if they are just bad pictures. Does anyone know? Anyone who can post some representative pictures? Hopefully this is just another false lead though.

McMahon would certainly give Bond the nip/tuck that the producers are looking for. :)

I thought the photo of Craig on imdb was pretty good. Maybe I was hallucinating. As for McMahon. I do like him on nip/tuck. But whether he's Bond material.....I don't know.

Nip / Tuck is one of the trashiest shows I've ever seen. It's pure garbage. Completely ridiculous. I squirmed my way through one episode and didn't give a damn about the characters, the story, anything. McMahon, if I remember his character correctly, was horrible.

Eon must be out of their mind, if this is true, which I doubt.

Julian Mcmahon is good looking but he has a HUGE fourhead. It's distractingly huge.I think he should be a Bond villian instead.

I guess it's not gonna Owen or Jackman. :)

Let's see... McMahon has a gigantic forehead, and Craig looks like Stephen Baldwin. This had better be false.

If this is the best they can come up with, better to wait a couple more years to make the next Bond film.

This flurry of Julian McMahon garbage is probably just the same as the rampant Clive Owen rumors of a few weeks ago. I doubt any of it is true. Or, at least, it damn well better not be. I think at this point, only a good actor as Bond will save the mess that P&W are setting up.
