I think the last episode really illustrated why Jack and Sloane rule and Sydney is just an uppity little twit, now.

Big, big spoiler on the end of Season Four. You have been warned. This news will no doubt make Devin very, very happy.

Lena Olin will be returning to the show at the end of the season to reprise her role as Sydney's Mom according to TV Guide.

I thought you would be thrilled by that news Devin. I am sure it is planned as part of the BIG surprise at the end of the season as is typical with the show. Need to be careful not to give it away though.

Be warned. There are no spoiler warnings on the ALIAS thread that is in the Detectives forum.

As a matter of interest, does anyone know if
/spoiler.gif
Lena is related to Ken Olin, one the producers/directors?

Hmmm....I seem to remember that coming up on one of the DVD features, but I'm not sure.

/spoiler.gif
Given the fact that they had her character killed off following repeated claims from her that she would not return I doubt it. Of course now that she has been secured to appear at the end of the season (something producer J.J. Abrams says they have been hoping for all year) it raises the problem of explaining how and why Jack did not kill her as he said he had.

Actually, she is not related to him. His wife is Patricia Wettig, who plays Dr. Barnes, the CIA shrink, on the show.

I thought last night's eppy was good solid fun, and am anxiously looking forward to next week!

I liked the fact that it was Marshall who saved Sydney last night and not one of the usual suspects.

That was a clever plot device they used to force the lockdown at HQ. It was also really cool to see Marshall confront Ulrich.

It was a pretty good episode and the season story arc seems to be playing out well.

I can see now how they are planning on bringing Sydney's mother back on the show - I think. Last nights eppy had some real clues in it IMO

After I saw her name in the opening credits, I was like a giddy schoolboy waiting for her arrival on the scene. :)

Edited to add:

What an excellent episode! This season has really heated up, and is heading toward a fiery climax methinks. Very cool.

Next weeks episode certainly looks like it will be incredible - finally Jack and Sloane getting down to it....Jacks line "Give me one reason why I shouldn't do to you what I did to my wife" all the while pointing a gun at Sloane's head looks as if it will be terrific.

Last nights "surprise ending" with Joel Gray was betrayed by the title of the episode. You spent the whole episode waiting for him to appear.

Lucky I missed the episode title.

Can't wait to see how the whole Sloane/Jack/Katya/Irina thing coalesces.

Quite. I was a little dissapointed with this season at the beginning, but it has quickly picked up and is just as good as previous ones.

I think its a lot better than the third one, though the second season still stands as the best of the lot.

I was somewhat underwhelmed by Scorupco's appearance. I still think her best non-Bond part was in REIGN OF FIRE

My favourite non-Bond of her's is Vertical Limit, directed by "Soupy."

And does she act alongside Jennifer in that ep? If so, there's one naughty fantasy materialising in my dirty mind. :)
