You still have roughly around a month to complete the story, it is not due until January 30th.

Qwerty, I hope you don't mind me blowing my own trumpet. At least you know that I am definitely sending CBn a short story of under 10,000 words by 30th January.
As for the 10,000+ story...gulp.
Congrats on the 16,000 mark, Jim. I can't wait to read all the entries.

"No, Mr Bond, I expect you to write fan fiction!"
"Aaarggh!" *dies horribly*
Writing this stuff is like juggling jelly. How on earth did Fleming do it so well?
*Rings celestial telephone*
Hello? I'd like to complain about my talent quota, please. Specifically? Well, let me see, um...WHERE IS IT?!
I wish Bond 21 would turn up so I could stop writing without feeling guilty.
If I were a cinematic action hero I would be Richard Harris in The Wild Geese , begging Richard Burton to shoot me on the runway before the mob pulled me to pieces. Here's hoping the rest of you catch the literary aeroplane.
*faints*

Sorry, I've just re-read your post, and it's the actual floppy disk that's got the problem.
I have some software that could retrieve the data, but if the disk is damaged, then it's beyond repair.
You could try however to mode the back of the disk ( as if it was in the drive ) to see if the disk has jammed.
Just trying to be of some assistance
End of Edit....
Hey Jim!!!.
If you're on broadband, I maybe able to help you out here.
Please let me know.
Cheers,
Ian
All computers that I have access to now claim that the disc upon which I had the story is now not formatted. Accordingly, unless I can sort this out, I have lost the lot, 16,000 words of it. I suppose this is a lesson in saving things to hard drive.

DAMN
Thank you.
