I kind of like his look. He looks like what a young James Bond would look like.

He's better than McMahon, of course, but anyone is.

Rubbish

do remember that Mel Gibson (Born in NY but grew up in Australia) was offered the part in the 1980's.
Heck, I'd even take Mel Gibson NOW over this guy.

This guy would be a terrible choice for 007. I've seen ER on several occasions, and it's a terrible show filled with terrible acting. There's absolutely nothing that I've ever seen from that show, or this actor, that would ever lead me to believe that he could even work as a janitor at Pinewood (or wherever) for a Bond film, let alone star in one.

Well, here we go again, tdalton - your opinion on ER seems to be in the minority, I

I'd think he'd be meeting with Barbara and Michael G. were that the case.
He's 32 and has a fairly thick Croatian accent.

Over at MI6 they're reporting that Goran Visnjic (Luka from ER) is being "seriously considered" for Bond and has been meeting with Martin Campbell regularly.

And looks like a villain. And makes me consider McMahon in a whole new light.

Glamour Magazine, September 2002
Interview by Russell Scott Smith
"Blame it on James Bond. Ever since I saw those 007 movies, the Aston Martin has been my dream car. I've always said that I'd get one, so this year I bought a DB7 Vantage in British racing green.
For me, driving is better than fine wine, better than a great meal-- better than anything but sex, really. Going fast is the ultimate thrill. Nothing beats blasting Tom Jones while cruising to Vegas.
The fun of driving is also about controlling a powerful machine. I take driving seriously--because there's a fine line between driving fast and driving badly. Plenty of guys who drive swing around corners. But with a good driver, the ride is always smooth and the passenger feels secure.
So if you feel like a guy's driving too fast, he is. If he won't slow down, get out of the car. He needs driving lessons."

I have always said that Goran Visnjic would make a perfect Bond villain and that his role in "Elektra" would give him that extra "engh" to get him there. Now he is up for Bond himself. I totaly back Goran Visnjic as James Bond.
On a side note, I have also always said that Arnold Vosloo would be another great choice for a Bond villain. You may remember him as the title character from both of "The Mummy" movies. Vosloo just finnished his long run as the villain on "24" this Monday. Not only that but, Vosloo is a big actor in his home country... South Africa. (

HOLY CRAPARONI!!! Goran Visnjic would be an awesome choice for the next James Bond. Goran Visnjic is a very good actor on ER, and I think that he could make Bond more human like Dalton did. I think that he really looks the part and he is the right age for a James Bond that has only be on the job for a few weeks: he is thirty-two.

I never watch ER and really never seen him act--he has a good Bond look and doing the quality ER I presume he's at least a solid actor BUT my question about him is his speaking voice. Is it accented? Can he do a credible English accent?

I watch ER every week. Goran Visnjic is a good actor and sexy as hell, with quite a following among the ladies, but his accent is impossibly thick. His English is far worse than it appears on the show. He has a voice coach on-set all the time.He does have an accent, I presume his own, on ER, where he plays a Croatian. He has fairly deep voice. He did an American accent on the movie Practical Magic several years back and I was amazed it was the same guy who was on ER. He could probably pull it off. Not my first choice by a long shot, but still more credible than Jude Law, McGregor or Hugh Grant.
I think you're mis-remembering Practical Magic; he had an accent there too. He simply can't pull off the English language without it. Which rules him out.

If what you say is true then yes rule him out--it all depends on how he can speak the Queen's English.
