I don't participate anymore...I hate the low tech but the talk backs can be funny...no police there

Yes. There are always good and funny posts to be found on the Talkbacks, but it's not a particularly "user friendly" site - in fact, I often have problems even accessing the main page (which may be because Harry Knowles and co. don't have enough bandwidth, or something like that). Also, there's no sense of community, the order of the Talkbacks gets screwed up, the Talkbacks get stretched, and as far as I know it's impossible to search for posts. AICN could and should take a leaf out of CBn's book.

I LOATHED Jake LLoyd(see him lately anyone?) and I hated hayden C too although that's not really his fault. The part was so poorly written.

The Creeping Factor sounds like an episode title from The Twilight Zone to be honest. Rise Of The Empire sounds epic and great, although a little too similar to the third Terminator film.

Well you can't please everybody with the prequels. I happen to love the prequels, and I can really sense how they will tie in with the original triliogy. Lucas is doing something here, which no-one else has ever done and I think he should be commended for it. Okay, there were moments in Episode I and II that I think could have been done better (i.e. way too little use of Darth Maul, too much of Jar Jar and the gungans, who I do like.) I used to hate the Ewoks when I first saw Return of the Jedi! Plus C-3PO got on my nerves (as I'm sure he did for a lot of people) in Empire Strikes Back. So I think that Jar Jar and the Gungans are good fun for the whole family. But anyway, I can't complain since I love to look at the whole picture with the prequels (as I do with most trilogies) and look forward eagerly to Episode III. I just hope they don't pick some lame title.

I think it's really cool that Lucas is revising the original trilogy so that it'll be much more of a piece with the prequels. Essentially, it'll eventually be just one great big six-part saga, a sort of LORD OF THE RINGS times two affair. :)

I agree, don't get me wrong, the prequels are great pieces of entertainment and I find them great to watch, I just don't think that The Creeping Factor sounds like a great title, but I think I felt the same way about The Phantom Menace, so I may get used to it. Rise of the Empire sounds like a Star Wars film, it suits the series better than The Creeping Factor.

On a positive side, I love the Emperor from Jedi and he is the reason I hold out hope for this last film and why I will pay to see it opening weekend. I can't wait to see Ian Mcdimaroid play that bada** villian again! I hope he gets alot of juicy scenes! He's the best thing about Jedi for sure! I always thought of him as an intergalactic Blofeld!! :)

Lucas will get my $10...maybe my $20...

I mean, if you really and truly detest ATTACK OF THE CLONES, that's more than fair enough, but I can't help feeling that "old school" STAR WARS fans severely underrate the prequels (and severely overrate the original trilogy).

I am not one to not attempt to embrace the new things. I am an original

Not happy with this 'supposed' title. Hopefully, we'll find out if it's real or not.

Doesn't have enough punch for me, sounds like it was something that was made up in about 5 minutes.

[quote name='Mister Asterix' date='25 March 2004 - 15:12'] The new Star Wars Trilogy has just completely missed with me though. The only characters (beside R2D2) I liked were Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul and they killed them both off in Ep. I. The characters in the new trilogy don

Lucas has stated repeatedly that EPISODE III will be by far the darkest of all the films; I'm sure, too, that he's pulling out all the stops to make his final STAR WARS picture something to remember (especially after the decidedly mixed reactions to TPM and AOTC). So even those who passionately hate the prequels may be pleasantly surprised by III.

I hope you are right. I have no faith in Lucas anymore though. So I will not see III in the theatre. If people I trust tell me that it is a significantly better than Ep. I and II than I will rent the DVD when it comes out. Otherwise it will go unwatched.

I'll be seriously dissapointed if this is the title, but not surprised.

Episode 1 was watchable, EPII was a little better (last part especially), if III manages to be a little better it won't dissapoint me.

I do wish Lucas would just leave the old ones alone. I've read that the Emperor in Empire Strikes Back (the old woman with prosthetic makeup and monkey eyes) is being replaced for continuity.

The rumored Episode III title does sound like one of those 1930's serials on which the entire Star Wars saga is meant to emulate. Rise of the Empire doesn't conjure up the same images.

As for the Star Wars saga, I really don't have any interest in it anymore. I think that George's revisionism in the prequels chipped away at the foundation of the original trilogy until it made no sense.

Those who love it, go ahead and enjoy it. But I have no love for Star Wars anymore.

I have a Creeping Fear The Creeping Fear is gonna blow. :)

The reason I think thiss isn't the title is because titles rarely leak, and never from Lucasfilm. There were scads of rumors and "spies" who thought they had the titles to I&II, but TPM and AOTC came as total surprises. Heck, even those clowns at MGM surprised us Bond fans with TND and DAD. Even if The Creeping Fear was the title yesterday I think Lucas would chaange it today because of the leak. You know, HE needs to be king geek, not Harry Knowles.

Having said all that. I kind of like the title. No, it's sure not a classic trilogy title, but it is a prequel title. It fits.

I'm just reeeeally hoping that they don't rework the Return of the Jedi DVD, and edit the scene where Luke removes Vader's mask to show Hayden Christensen's face...otherwise, I'm gonna be reeeeeally pissed. Lucas has already screwed up the originals enough as it is.

He will.

In an Ultra-Specıalıstic-Fantastico Edition!

He'll take the original negative, destroy it, and film it ALL again in CG! All the vocals and sound effects will be digitised.

That way, no characters will look older, no effects will look cheaper than others, and Lucas has more buck for his bang.

I hate sarcasm.

Luca$ probably will never release the original Trilogy, only the SpecialEditions.

And he may even go back to change them again.

*Prays to God that Luca$ leaves them alone*

What was wrong with the old trilogy's SPFX? Even today they look fine.

My biggest gripe with the series, is that during the fights in TPM, no one talked, no good lines. They brought it back in AOTC, but very little, then messed it up with Yoda going "Hidden Tiger" on Christopher Lee.

I do like Natalie Portman :)
