MOD NOTE: The above link originally when to a story on AICN reporting a rumor that the title of Episode III would be 'The Creeping Fear.'

Don't know if I believe it, but it's not a bad title, not really knowing the context of it in the story.
I never really liked The Phantom Menace, though.
Wouldn't have though of it as a Star Wars-esque title, but it beats the pants off The Phantom Menace's title.

It's just that I saw some posters with it on and it seemed odd to me.

Can't wait though, Episode Two rocked.

It rocked me to sleep. What a bad movie II was. Whatever the title of III, I plan not to see it. Lucas started the series on a very high note and each film has gone progressively downhill. We always get so many fake titles, this won't be it.

*Sigh* Why are STAR WARS lovers so difficult to please? Every time there's a new piece of SW news on AICN, the Talkbackers carry on as though Lucas went round to their houses and attacked their families. I dread to think what SW fansites must be like.
Here's what the Bond equivalent would be: "Yeah, the first three films were brilliant, but the rot started creeping in with THUNDERBALL, and then Connery left and it all fell apart."
I mean, isn't EPISODE II better than nothing (if you're already into the series, that is)? And does it matter whether Han shot Greedo first or vice-versa? For all I care, Lucas can reissue the original trilogy again in black and white and with snippets of Sam Neill's screentest for THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS edited in - they're his films, to do with as he pleases.
(I'll never forget the excitement among my friends and I when the first three pictures were re-released in 1997. We were all grown men and women [well, students

I was thinking the exact same thing about the title. I'm sure it's just a rumor. The Creeping Fear? I prefer Rise of the Empire myself - at least it doesn't make Episode III sound like a B-movie that might'a been aired on Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Hey Tanger, posters with REVENGE OF THE JEDI on it are like gold.Pretty good title. Definitely the better of the 3 prequels. BTW, not being a very big SW fan I'm not sure but was Revenge of the Jedi the original title for Return?
It's just that I saw some posters with it on and it seemed odd to me.
Name your own price kinda thing.

Not necessarily. Remember that Star Wars was inspired by the "Serials" of the 1940's and they all had those campy titles and Lucas has certainly trended in that direction with Episodes 1-2.I was thinking the exact same thing about the title. I'm sure it's just a rumor. The Creeping Fear? I prefer Rise of the Empire myself - at least it doesn't make Episode III sound like a B-movie that might'a been aired on Mystery Science Theater 3000.
Regardless of the title, let's not be too hasty to judge the movie.

Sure. Apologies if I seemed to be lumping you in with the angry, no-sense-of-proportion AICN crowd back there, Mr A. I know from your posts here that you're several notches above the "Lucas raped my childhood" whingers. But I do wonder why you can't look on the prequels in the same way as you look on, for instance, the Raymond Benson novels, i.e. as works which aren't up to the standard of the original, "classic" era, but which are still part of the "canon". I mean, if you really and truly detest ATTACK OF THE CLONES, that's more than fair enough, but I can't help feeling that "old school" STAR WARS fans severely underrate the prequels (and severely overrate the original trilogy).Oh, I am way beyond that.
Tarl, yes, I am registered at AICN, although I very, very rarely post there. Most recently I went under the alias Shanghai Nicky (like "Loomis", a name quite literally plucked from thin air on the spur of the moment - my name's not Nicky, and neither am I from Shanghai), although I have used three or four other names over the years, but I can't actually remember any of them!
