Try these ones, maybe you won't hate them. Why should I try something that I know I will hate?
I tried Never Say Never Again and hated it like I knew I would. I also am about to try Episodes I & II so it's not like I don't try movies.

1) Empire Strikes Back
Dark, scary, action packed and excellent. This will always be the best movie if not Revenge of the Sith beats it
2) Return of the Jedi
Action packed, great special effects and great story. It is not far to share the top with ESB
3) Attack of the Clones
Excellent special effects and perfomances by McGregor, Portman and Christensen. Great music I might add
4) A New Hope
Could be slight boring sometimes. Let's see what changes Lucas has done now with the CGI edition box with the DVD's. It could be better then. But it is good. But not as good as the other three.
5) The Phantom Menace
Ugh... why did they have to create Jar Jar. Threepeo already existed and he was great but that is not Jar Jar. But great special effects and good performances by Liam Neeson, McGregor and Portman.

(P.S. The new ones aren't all that bad, but the classics rule all!)

I love Star Wars myself. I try to give it a break, as some people are too serious in denouncing it as childish and stupid. Not everything has to be Casablanca. Why can't a movie be made for fun?

My ratings: And I'll call Star Wars "A New Hope". I noticed someone refusing to in an earlier page.

So unacceptable..I hate the fantasy genre. It's queer and boring.
But how would you know how the films are if you admitted that you haven't even seen any of them?Actually, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy is stupid and boring. I've never seen any of the films because I know if I did I would puke.
But I agree 100%!!!!!

The greatest films in history? The Star Wars films are pretty much the greatest films in cinema history. No further comment here!

With the trilogy, I'd admit they were close. If one includes the entire series with the prequels, no, I don't think so.

I thought like you once did, but I'm glad I saw them. While to me, they do not come close to the original Star Wars trilogy in sheer entertainment value and watchability (too friggin' long to watch over and over again), they're still pretty good (minus the beginning of Fellowship *yawn* and the endingS of ROTK *YAWN*).
Still, they're worth at least checking out, so you know what everyone else was talking about (non-stop).
Funny how the people I liked best from LOTR were from Bond as well:, Sean Bean and Christopher Lee.

Not a fan of neverending endings I see. Much like From Russia With Love and Octopussy.and the endingS of ROTK *YAWN*).

Way too many, way too long, and not particularly emotional. Perhaps if there hadn't been two and a half hours of movie already, it would have been more tolerable. Not a fan of neverending endings I see. Much like From Russia With Love and Octopussy.and the endingS of ROTK *YAWN*).
From Russia With Love and Goldfinger aren't bad in that respect, they may have like 2-3 ending bits, as opposed to like 10 for each LOTR movie.

While I'd agree that SW is much more entertaining and easily watched, LOTR is artistically head-and-shoulders above the SW trilogy. That's not an insult to SW, it's just a statement. While to me, they do not come close to the original Star Wars trilogy in sheer entertainment value and watchability (too friggin' long to watch over and over again), they're still pretty good (minus the beginning of Fellowship *yawn* and the endingS of ROTK *YAWN*).
Well, the beginning of FOTR in the books was just as long, and the ending of ROTK in the books had an even longer coda. I always thought that for a nine hour saga, it was a good thing to have a nice slow beginning and a good long coda at the end. Anything briefer than the ending they gave ROTK wouldn't have worked.

Not going to argue that, you're quite right. There's a reason why ROTK won Best Picture. While I'd agree that SW is much more entertaining and easily watched, LOTR is artistically head-and-shoulders above the SW trilogy. That's not an insult to SW, it's just a statement.

I haven't read most of the LOTR books, I've read The Hobbit and half of FOTR, but much like the films, they are very slow for me to read, and I just gave up on them.

Both the books and the films require a tolerance for slower pacing and love of great detail. They're not for everyone.I haven't read most of the LOTR books, I've read The Hobbit and half of FOTR, but much like the films, they are very slow to read, and I just gave up on them.

Fair enough. I guess everything leading up to it had been so grand that I didn't mind it.Way too many, way too long, and not particularly emotional. Perhaps if there hadn't been two and a half hours of movie already, it would have been more tolerable.

It better just be a rumor. Otherwise, I'm going to murder Lucas. It's about time he moved on from Star Wars and started doing something else. There's not even remotely a good reason to make Ep. 7, 8, and 9 other than "because he can."Oh no:

How can he be rusty when he's directed three films since 1999?what happend to the next Indy film? he should spend time re learning how to direct because man is he rusty!
Not rusty, just bad.
Frank Darabont wrote a script, which Spielberg and Ford ok'ed, and Lucas originally did too, but then (what a surprise) changed his mind, and rejected it. Darabont has now moved onto M:I 3. It's rumoured the writer of Pirates of the Caribbean has been doing a rewrite, but that has since been denied by Lucasfilm. Other rumours have claimed George himself will write Indy 4 (Just wonderful

Bring back Lawrence Kasdan!!!
About VII, VIII,and IX. IF (huge, gigantimus if) George were to relinquish writing and directing controls, they might be OK. I have read a few books that are set after the fall of the Empire, with the Imperial Remnant, and they aren't too bad, and would make better films than we have been seeing since 1999.

He's the only reason for the success of TESB and ROTJ, and really needs to be brought back. I wish he'd collaborated with Lucas on the prequels and was now working on Indy 4.Bring back Lawrence Kasdan!!!
In all honesty, though, I don't really care about Indy 4. The trilogy is fine as it is with a terrific ending point for the character. Ford is geriatric at this point. Seeing him in action is going to be like Moore in AVTAK!
