I have seen the movie, but of he must play in a bond movie as villian i don't no.

Saw Harry Potter last night and wow it sucked. I think a large part of this is that the script needed one or two major rewrites. However, Branagh is much better in more serious roles, for example when he plays King Henry in Henry V. Wow he is good. I am not a big Shakespeare fan, but the way he played the part is incredible. It is one of my favorite movies.

He would be good as a Bond villian because he would bring back the "older father figure" element of the enemies in the Fleming novels, is a great actor (which as when Robert Carlyle was playing Renard, generally improved the preformance of those around him), and can have a ruthless edge (watch the final battle in Henry V).

Branagh, father figure? He's only in his forties; he's younger than Brosnan. Maybe a few years down the road, in fact several years.

Lance Henriksen is, hands down, my favorite actor. He's phenomenally talented and a cinematic underdog. Visit the Internet Movie Database to check out the nearly one hundred film roles he's had. Unfortunately, most of those films are terrible low budget horror films in which he plays the heavy. He has a personal penchant for that sort of material, despite his talents. Once you see his lined face and hear his gruff voice you'll never forget him.

The most notable role Henriksen has held was as Frank Black, the lead in Chris Carter's Millennium television series. If you want to see how Lance would look as a James Bond villian, however (and he would be one hell of a James Bond villain), I recommend checking out John Woo's Hard Target. It's a mediocre film but Henriksen's performance is magnificent.

Another Lance Henriksen fan here, loved him as Frank Black in Millenium, the second season of Millenium is one of the best seasons of TV I've ever seen.

And hey check out the posters in the alternative what if Bond posters site:

http://007art.free.f...es/alternat.htm
Lance features in THREE OF THEM.
I printed all those posters out, and god, Lance's looks very cool as a Bond villian, I just wish it for Bond 21, although they should use him now then later, as Hard Target, he looked great, but that was like 10 years ago, so he won't be as youthful looking, but still a older Lance still great for a Bond villian.

Great, where did you hear that, if he was menstioned for DAD by a good source, then maybe there is a good precentage they'll use him in Bond 21, please happen!!

A tipster for the Dark Horizons website claimed to have made contact at an airport with producer Barbara Broccoli late last year. The eager fan could not resist approaching her and inquired as to the status of the twentieth James Bond film, the script for which was still being developed. (This, of course, became Die Another Day.) The conversation's focus soon shifted to the nature of the film's villain. Broccoli noted that the producers of the film were looking to establish a unique, brilliant, and menacing master villain more in the tradition of Ian Fleming's early novels. Broccoli supposedly stated she was specifically looking for someone, "a little older than the average actor/villain role, a good character-actor type. I like Lance Henriksen."

The story is available here: http://www.darkhoriz...ws10/010903.htm

Of course, Die Another Day's actual villain is a far cry from the Lance Henriksen type, and many of the items noted in this rumor report have been proven false, so who can say how much weight this rumor should carry. It's all hearsay. Nonetheless, the idea that Broccoli may be interested in seeing Henriksen in a Bond film is an exciting one. We can only hope that there's some truth to it! Keep your fingers crossed.

Billing Sequence for last four Bonds...

GOLDENEYE
Pierce Brosnan (Bond)
Sean Bean (Bad guy)
Izabella Scorupco (Good girl)
Famke Janssen (Bad girl)

TOMORROW NEVER DIES
Pierce Brosnan
Jonathan Pryce (Bad guy)
Michelle Yeoh (Main girl)
Teri Hatcher (Secondary girl)

THE WORLD IS NOT ENOUGH
Pierce Brosnan
Sophie Marceau (Bad Girl)
Robert Carlyle (Bad guy)
Denise Richards (good girl)

DIE ANOTHER DAY

Pierce Brosnan
Halle Berry (Over-hyped good girl)
Toby Stephens (under-hyped bad guy)
Rosamund Pike (Under-hyped bad girl)

For Bond 21, I have a feeling EON won't repeat their DAD trick of picking a hot actress for a Bond girl, but rather, they'll probably pick a hot, A-list actor to play the villain. So the credits may go a little something like this (the names are just examples)

BOND 21

Pierce Brosnan
Russell Crowe or Kevin Spacey (bad guy)
Natasha Henstridge (first girl)
Saffron Burrows (second girl)

Personally, picking a top actor for the villain seems their likeliest next step. And I don't mean respected character actors like Sean Bean, Jonathan Pryce, Robert Carlyle, and Toby Stephens. They may go with someone with his own box-office clout and loyal following to draw audiences the way Halle Berry did. And it might make a for a more powerful showdown.

I have to say I'm not necessarily for this. The danger is Bond gets overshadowed. But at this point, EON wants us to expect more of the same, which could include using more A-list talent in supporting roles. They've already done it with the heroine in DAD. Chances are they'll do it with the villain in Bond 21.

Thoughts?

I've heard rumors that Anthony Hopkins was considered to play Carver in TND. I think he might make a good menacing villain. Patrick Stewart's another good choice, though I don't know how easily I could see Captain Picard and Professor Xavier as a bad guy...

I would like to see Alan Rickman playing the villain in the next movie. I've always thought he would make a good Bond villain after seeing Die Hard.

Ooooh, good choice. I never really thought of him. Actually, I just watched him in Galaxy Quest last night in which he was very funny. But I think he could be a great Bond villain.

I would love to see Ron Rifkin as the villian in Bond 21. Ron Rifkin is the villain in the hit American Spy TV show, ALIAS.

For Bond Girls, Jennifer Garner, star of ALIAS and/or Brooke Burke.

Personally, I'd love to see Jason Isaacs be a villain in Bond 21. He seems to be developing a following and strong buzz, and he'd make both an interesting and photogenic adversary against PB, continuing DAD's trend of an attractive villain who is decidedly unattractive beneath.

Plus, that Tim Dalton resemblance would bring an interesting subtext to the film, in my humblest opinion...

Iwould love to see
Kevin Spacey
Anthony Hopkins
Alan Rickman.
However, and being an old time Bond fan I don't like this...
I'm certain MGM would INSIST on a young villian. I hope, though doubt, that a classy worldy villian would be back. It's all demographics. In DAD, I think Brosnan was the oldest guy there!!
Am I wrong about this? Any thoughts? I would LOVE an older villain, but I don't think it will happen anymore.

BIG BUDGET BOND (BBB)

Hugh Jackman as James Bond
Antonio Banderas as Napoleon Cortez (Villain)
Salma Hayek as Lucilla Cortez (Villains Daughter, Bad Girl)
Catherine Zeta Jones as Nicola Goodheart (Marine Biologist, Good Girl)
Michael Clarke Duncan as Trigger (Henchman)
Rachel Weisz as Miss Moneypenny
Brian Cox as M

Now i would donate money to the movie to see this happen

If you want an older villain...James Bond versus Dirty Harry: give it to Clint Eastwood.

C'mon, it'd be fun. And it'd be something a bit different for Mr Eastwood.

Bet they wouldn't dare ask.

It just depends as far as villains go. Would a huge "star" overwhelm the movie? Would there be friction from, say, Russell Crowe's or Denzel Washington's agent to get him as much or more screen time than Brosnan? Or other problems?

Would Brosnan want somebody making $10-15 million a picture playing opposite him, and would it really do that much to make the picture better? Would we be watching a Bond film or a star vehicle in a Bond film?

Certain actors mentioned, Rickman, Stewart, Hopkins, could probably get away with it, but some of the big-time A-list stars may be more of a distraction. With the girls it seems less so as proven by Halle Berry. She didn't overwhelm the picture nor did she hurt it. If anything, the lightning that happened with her winning the Oscar only enhanced the publicity DAD got.

It just seems Eon is less worried about who it casts since it is busy putting money into other areas rather than huge star fees. So why go that direction?

Please no Patrick Stewart. Please, please, please.

Also, Hopkins refused GoldenEye, thereby screwing up the script somewhat (Trevelyan being old enough to be a Cossack?) so I doubt he'll accept a future proposal.

Jeremy Irons- Check out Die Hard with a Vegeance

John Lithgow-check out Cliffhanger-funny-brutal

Lance Henrikson would be good too.

Alot of these actors could make great villians.
But if you look back at alot of Bond films, the actors who played villians, nearly all were not famous until they became villians, Bond films tend to find great casting, but Halle Berry was a big exception, I wouldn't mind a exception to a Bond villian actor, Alan Rickman/ Jeremy Irons, Die Hard baddies, would be fun.

Better than Jonathan Pryce, that's for damned sure. Ol' Jonny P. reminded me of one of my whiny profs from University. As Carver he was about as menacing as janitor whose freshly-mopped floor has just been marred by a dozen Birkenstocks.

I think Sam Neill would be great villain. More of a respected character actor than a preening A-lister, but that's a good thing probably....

I would say probably because after his X-Men role, and to a lesser extent LOTR, he wouldn't probably be wanting to do another big-budget franchise thing.

And isn't he one of the people rumoured to take over the Richard Harris role in the Harry Potter series.? He just seems to have a lot on his plate.

The best possible villain would be Richard Hillman from Coronation street. I am not sure what his real name is but he has to be the most evil man on T.V and Mondays episode confirmed it when he sneaked out of a birthday party at the local boozer, disguised himself as the local hooligan and went to kill an old woman with a crow bar. After cracking the old lady over the head and taking out another local resident he returned to the pub to lead the singing of "for she's a jolly good fellow" and crack a few one-liners.

I've thought for years that Gary Oldman would make a great Bond villain (I know he was recently in one of those BMW short films, but still...)
