Electra/Marceau was great, so here are her possible heirs:
- Sigourney Weaver
- Sharon Stone
- Cate Blanchet
- Theresa Russell
- ...

UK CBn-ers would recognise him as "Cop" in the early 90's hit series "Red Dwarf". he just looks evil!

He has played a lot of roles where he's had a mean edge.
I just saw him in the great 1972 movie Sleuth where he and
Laurence Olivier were both nominated with an Oscar for Best Actor.
Actors I wouldn't mind seeing as villains in Bond:
Michael Caine
Gary Oldman
Alan Rickman
Jeremy Irons
Anthony Hopkins
Joaquin Phoenix
Ray Liotta
James Caan

I think one of James Caan, Ray Liotta or Joaquin Phoenix
would fit in well. But then again, I'd like to see an older
actor, British if possible, to play the villain. I still think
Michael Caine would be really great in that part.
You didn't comment him, what do you think about him
as a Bond villain ? And he has a great accent !

I don't think Jeremy Irons has much trouble with 'selling his soul' to badly written movies. Remember, he was the baddie in Die Hard With A Vengeance, The Time Machine and Dungeons and Dragons.
But he can play a fantastic villain, which is why I chose him for Alistair Harmsway.

Patrick Stewart is another good choice although people may see him too much as Star Trek: TNG's Jean Luc Pcard.
Rutger Hauer perhaps?
Or maybe Christopher Plummer?
How about Patrick McGoohan?

Jan Declair. he's a Flemmish actor that was asked for TWINE.
I don't know if these rumours are true, but this guy is very serious and he said it himself so I suppose they are.
Anyway, just look at this man's expression!!!

Rutger Hauer would be just too cool, hehe.
Don't know if they'd ever ask him, but he'd sure be
a perfect fit...He has played some of the best villains
I've seen over the years...

We've had too many british villains lately, and is following Hollywood's rules of "American hero, English villain". Even having an Englishman playing a foreigner isn't good enough, we need an Italian, Russian, or American villain again.
Saying that, Ben Kingsley should be Blofeld, he looks like Donald Pleasance's Blofeld, and is fairly frightening (Sexy Beast anyone!!!).

Von Hammerstein is this how a Mid-Eastern plot line would work . Or are you anti-French. Still it's a good idea.Originally posted by Von Hammerstein
How about a French villian? Someone mentioned Jean Reno earlier. He would give a stellar performance. Maybe he could play a French weapons dealer who is pitting the Middle Eastern countries against each other in a convoluted plot to rule the Middle East himself?

No not anti-French or anti anybody. Just thought there hasn't been a really good french villian on the silver screen since Belloq in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Besides the great Bond villians were superior sorts, who knows better about acting superior than the French. (Kidding, just kidding)

Ian Mackellan would be good, but I'd really want Lee Tamahori do to be the villain, as Sir Michael Aquarius.
He's the ulimate insider, second only to M. Slowly brings chaos to MI6 for his own ends.
