Welcome, if you haven't read about that character yet, I suggest to.

Quite a mysterious villain, especially when first introduced to the reader, would perfectly suit Hopkins.

Although he turned down the role of 'villain' for 'Die Another Day', I am convinced that Vinnie Jones would make a superb adversary. In movies like 'Swordfish' and 'Gone in 60 Seconds', Jones plays henchman-style roles, with 'Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels' and 'Snatch' bringing a philosophical dimension to the actor. If given the opportunity to play the main villain (rather than a henchman), then his potential will be great. He would be ideal in a role of - say - an ex-SAS-turned-mercenary assassin hired by terrorist organisations to dispatch key political figures. Just a thought.

What about Al Pacino as Bond Villain? It would be interesting seeing him opposite to Pierce in his last film! :)

Could be cool to see. I would like to see Al with that Gray-Blonde hair for the villain. :) I feel that every villain should have be of a stong ethnicity, and Al would be a great Italian, along with Andy Garcia.

I always thougth Elizabeth Hurley could make a good villian. She would be THE villian and not some hench and Bond would know she is evil all along.

Maybe Garcia could be Pacino's nephew like in Godfather 3.

He would do fine as a villain just the same with a new Bond too.

Before I read the book, I had envisioned Hopkins as Le Chiffre in "Casino Royale".

After reading it, however, going by the book's physical description of Le Chiffre (fat and red-haired) I pictured Brendan Gleeson. Has anyone suggested him, as Le Chiffre or otherwise?

I think Hopkins rumored for Le Chiffre has often become a commonality. Interesting other suggestion, (and I think it may be the first.)

Brendan Gleeson is a fantastic choice for a Bond villain...

He's an all right choice for Le Chiffre, but a fantastic choice for a villain. Well done.

Max,

I have a long list of villain choices (some are mine alone, some are not) on page 6 of this thread. Thanks for the praise for this choice.
