OHMSS - I'm still here! I did the last three posters one after the other in a short space of time, so I just gave myself a break. Moonraker will be on it's way shortly. Thanks for asking.

I think JLaidlaw has done a beautiful job with the Ultimate Edition covers, they're totally convincing, but the problem for me is that I wish someone at Eon had gone the other way completely and produced DVD covers using the classic poster artwork. It's been so many years since they last used them that they would now look fresh and new! It honestly baffles me why Eon (or whoever produces the DVDs) continues to put together really ugly packaging for the Bond movies.

Great news, Owain!

JLaidlaw, that's wonderful work!

If someone finds/creats something like that for the White UE of NSNA, CR and QOS, I'd be most excited, I only have the UE's in the white covers I'd love to put my copies of NSNA, CR and QOS in the same artwork as the others.

Thank you so much for the positive comments, they are all appreciated.

If by White UE you mean THIS, well I believe those particular covers to be amongst the worst designed DVD covers I have ever seen. However- these look a much easier design to emulate, so check back here in a couple of weeks and I may have something.

but the problem for me is that I wish someone at Eon had gone the other way completely and produced DVD covers using the classic poster artwork.

True for the earlier films certainly, they would be very nice but I believe I've seen a couple online. I'll take a look round.

Incidentally, for those who still have Special edition dvds, a friend of mine has designed two very nice covers for Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace at the top of this page. (He mainly specıalıses in Doctor Who, hence the banner.)

I do mean those covers, I agree they are not that great but when I finally got enough too buy the UE's, they were the only ones available in my country (in a boxset that is).

Great work on the SE's too (complements to your friend, did he do the same for NSNA by any chance?).

Finally, here is my Moonraker poster.

I didn't want to overdo the 'space' theme, so I thought that this rare photo of Roger Moore in a spacesuit and the circles would give the right effect.

At first I thought the computer-style typeface would be a bit too cheesy ... but come on, this film was released in 1979 and on the finished poster it actually works rather well.

Hope you like it!

Owain

Do you know, I had no intention of making a poster for Never Say Never Again. It never even occurred to me. And this is coming from someone who even wears a Never Say Never Again t-shirt!

I'm afraid I'm a bit of a Bond prude and never liked these attempts to make Never Say Never Again look like it was part of the official series. It isn't, so it should always stand apart. It's a decent film and all that, but that's how I feel about it.

Tell you what. When I finish the series I'll go back and make a Never Say Never Again poster. Kind of looking forward to it now.

It's Region 2, which means it's a UK DVD cover. We get it on every single DVD cover, you get used to it eventually.

Oh I see.

Thanks for the info B)

Evening all. Here is my For Your Eyes Only poster. There isn't an awful lot of good stills to work from with this particular Bond movie, the problem being that poor old Roger has to wear an awful lot of bad clothes. However, the photo I ended up using, despite being an obvious choice, works a treat.

I'm a big fan of black on yellow, and thought that it would be a tasty combination for the 12th James Bond movie.

The Casino Royale poster rocks, really has that 70's feel. Love the intergration of the masked thieves from The Anderson Tapes.

Right here we go, this lot finished at last (nothing new bar the first cover):
Posted Image

Casino Royale (1967)
Never Say Never Again
Casino Royale (2006)
Quantum of Solace

And in response to my challenge to do Gold covers, I have these. I noticed my concentration and the quality of the work going downhill, so I decided to stop at two. Let me know if you like them and I'll get NSNA done.

JLaidLaw, I absolutely love the white covers for CR and QOS. I'd be most excited if you could do the same for CR'67 and/or NSNA.

I really like the CR'67 you added with the others, I'm glad you put David Niven in the centre, most people would choose, strangely enough, Peter Sellers.

I believe Dead Reckoning is the title of a 1947 movie starring Humphrey Bogart, which was quite good, I have it on DVD as a matter of fact. The title does sound Bondesque.

Interesting. I actually got the title out of Fleming Bond novel I was skimming through. I THINK it might have been Moonraker. I look at the chapter titles sometimes for ideas.

Had to share a link with you all. For anyone who enjoys seeing James Bond Ultimate Edition covers, check out this guy's work. It's exceptionally good, there's even a 1954 Casino Royale cover with a colourised Barry Nelson. If you get the time, do scan through all the pages, each of them has something new on.
