Thought I'd drop in and give an official "howdy" to everyone. :P

Found the site a few days back and thought both the site and forums were interesting.

I've seen the Bond films for almost as long as I can remember (TV edits on US ABC's movie of the week for many years in my childhood). About 10 years ago I bought a set of the Fleming novels (the US Signet 60s paperbacks, later editions, in case anyone is interested :) ) with the intent of reading them all, only to find out my set was falling apart.

And apparently they'd been falling apart for some time as several of the novels were missing sections in the middle (I'm thinking someone pulled out an old cigarette ad at some point weakining the centers) and some the last page or two. Luckily I found this out before I actually started reading those that had missing pages. I'd read Casino Royale (which was intact) before I realized the others were in such terrible condition and gave up.

Obviously the movie has re-ignited my interest and I've taken back to finding the books and reading them (finished re-reading Casino Royale over the weekend, halfway through Live and Let Die at the moment).

So that's my "Bond life story" or something. :P Glad to be aboard here!

Bonjour! :)

The name's Gala... but whether or not Brand is the last name remains debatable. No, I'm not kidding. Gala is my name in real life as well, though Brand isn't my last name (however, I will blurt out that "Brand" could be formed using the letters of my middle name). Anyways, I guess that's close enough. Lol...

I've been into James Bond "just a tad" for the past two years, but it's been last year that it REALLY hit me when I became simply outraged at the theme of the class of 2006's prom theme when I was a junior. Well, now a senior of the class of 2007, I guess the rest is pretty darn obvious and I can't say how DARN happy I am that I was able to convince the grade into it regardless of some of the girls pretty much hating me for it. Whoops! And the others who I did convince ever-so-sneakily don't know who it is because we all know that an agent is to remain under cover... Lol...

Yeah whenever I get done on this forum for a while I head over to Mi6.co.uk and after a couple days I see the exact same thing that we were just talking about.

Off topic but i felt this was the best section to post it.Is there a sought of cold shoulder mentality to newbies? What i mean is i know i haven't been here too long(well under my new name) but i've tried to make friends with some fellow CBners on myspace and they seem to give me a brush off as far as trying to make friends or sometimes even to replying.Just kind of hurt ones feelings.
So i was just wondering.

I seriously doubt there's some kind of longtime member conspiracy to make new posters feel excluded. Keep trying (but not with the same people). If you see a discussion that interests you, jump in. This is a big place, and many of us get lost in the fray.

Greetings all,

I'm Gyorgy (George to you) from the wonderful city of Budapest in Hungary :P

I'm 20, and thought might pop in to discuss one of my favourite series here.

I was actually amazed that my username wasn't taken lol. As I am just preparing to practice free running (parkour), Sebastien (Mollaka) jumping in was a great suprise for me in Casino Royale.

I'll try to catch up with the life going on here and join you folks.

thanks
gyorgy

Mollaka from now on :)

Howdy all. Been here since August of this year. Just learned I need 1000 posts to put my photo on my personal page, so only 673 to go.

I'm married and live in Texas. My sexual orientation is straight, just the way I like my bourbon. I smoke Marlboros, the one with the three gold bands.

I joined to enlist my support for Daniel Craig, and love Casino Royale. I stick around because there are so many neat things going on here. I learn something new about 007 every day. I am also learning what a wonderful group the Commanding Officers are.

No smoke up anyone's *ss. Just fact.

Aye, sir. Thanks Dr. Most fun indeed. My sons do that 'chat room' stuff, but that's too fast for this ol' geezer. On the forums, I can take my bloody good time to read, mull over, and respond.

4 months...well, I've been stuck in the CR thread. Only now starting to spin larger circles in the CBn world. lol.

P.S. Hope the 'cold' is getting better.
