Been doing the same. However i have had real difficulty finding very good to fine copies of Dr No, Spy and even OHMSS.

2-3 years ago Dr No firsts were quite common on Ebay and not overly expensive, sometimes multiple copies were for sale at the same time. The last year they have been much rarer.

Any book giving you particular heartache Qwerty?

Noticed that about Doctor No too.

I'm not concentrating on the early ones because I absolutely do not have the money for them. I'll agree that finding a nice first of On Her Majesty's Secret Service was difficult for a while because that seems to be the cutoff when it comes to Fleming and book prices--everything before it seems to be extremely pricey while the three that follow are still relatively easy to get.

Currently trying to finish off the UK 1st paperbacks. Only a few more to go there and thankfully the always high priced and somewhat elusive Moonraker is starting to show up a bit more.

I just picked up the 1947 edition of "Field Guide of Birds of the West Indies" by the real life ornithologist James Bond. This was the edition on Flemings's desk when he searching for a name for his creation.

Always wanted this book and this edition does not come up very often, so i snapped it up. The beautiful bright green cover was a bit worn but overall i cannot complain.

Today on eBay, I just bought Volume 3 of James Bond "Ultimate Edition" DVD collection. It includes five films: From Russia With Love; On Her Majesty's Secret Service; Live And Let Die; For Your Eyes Only; and Goldeneye. It's used, but hopefully in good shape. Including shipping, under $45, which is probably a good deal. When it arrives, I know what I'll be doing for the following five Saturday afternoons.

As my new/vintage car has a nice sounding cassette stereo system, I have been bidding on some sealed pre-made tapes - OCTOPUSSY, THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS, A VIEW TO A KILL, and the terrific score to THE SPEcıalısT. All late Barry masterpieces...

Just added the Titan Books Dr. No comic collection to my collection via eBay. I didn't originally buy that one as I already had those three stories in 'The Illustrated James Bond 007'. But had since decided that I'd like to have the complete lineup of Bond Titan Books...

A few promotional items for Tomorrow Never Dies lately. There's quite a collection of different stuff out there for the Brosnan films.

What items did you pick up, Qwerty?

My latest acquisition is a 1968 British annual. Somebody thought it would be fun to draw beards on Connery in several pictures.

Got the US 1-sheet poster (although the blue UK ones are about a billion times better), some Heineken patches and a few promo magazines.

Note :

DN , FRWL & GF b & w FoH stills are late 60s/early 70s? re-issues , originals were colorized (why couldn't they put copyright dates om em , so much easier *rolls eyes* :/

I believe YOLT FoH stills replaced "Sean Connery IS JB" with "SC AS JB" later on....this was because Connery didn't like the type casting.

Picked up World Premiere Brochures for On Her Majesty's Secret Service and also You Only Live Twice.

The one for OHMSS being a compromised presentation with the use of the spiral ring binder to keep it all together. The one for YOLT being a superb piece of historic memorabilia.

Those are nice pick-ups. Were these on recently, I don't recall seeing them. I'd like to see scans if you scans if you have them available.
